Birth Announcement wording...need creative minds

I am trying to come up with something cute for Camryn's birth announcement and my brain seems to be dead.

The announcement currently reads "With hearts full of love, we proudly introduce..." and then it gives her name and birth stats. I'm not loving this wording and would like something different. I was trying to come up with something cute about our family now being complete or something like that. Or not! I don't know.

Anyone have anything clever and cute? I dont want/need anything long...just a 2 liner or something.

Okay, my first thought was a math equation and how Camyrn makes it complete. (The rest is up to you! LOL)

The other one I think I like better - how about a jigsaw type puzzle announcement. It doesn't have to be actually cut, but just have the lines to show the different pieces, etc. Show the puzzle first with a missing piece. Then another one below it with all the pieces intact. Camryn's name and vitals would be written on the last piece put into the puzzle.

I'll keep thinkin'!

I'm just stopping by to check out and say CONGRATS to the winners and wanted to say 'hi' as well. DH and I went down to NOLA last Thursday to celebrate Mardi Gras with family. Now we are trying to re-adjust getting back to reality... hahaha. Saw lots of parades; donned wild and crazy wigs, hairpieces, and facepaint; caught plenty of beads; and laughed whole-heartedly many, many times. I always say that my Mardi Gras is complete so long as I catch some doubloons, a beer koozie, and a strand of the elusive glass beads. My DIL is pregnant and has settled on a very trendy name. I loathe trendy, but it's not my choice. We used all family names for our kids, and I've suggested a few names that we had't used, but I know it's up to them. One thing I wish these girls would consider today is that lots of these trendy names, which sound like last names, or place names are being used more and more for little girls, and little boys very much dislike having a name the same as a girl. I know from whence I speak as I teach in an elementary school. I had a professor in college named Taffy XXXXXX, PhD. I'm sure when those parents looked at little bundle o' joy Taffy that no one envisioned her being a quite stern and serious professor. Long ago, someone told me that good checks for names are 1. yell it out the back door to see if it sounds right. 2. Say, "my BIL (name) or my SIL (name) are going to go fishing with me this weekend." 3. Say " Presenting the Pres. Of the United States XXXXX" or "Nominated to the Supreme Court is Judge XXXXX." All of these tests should help one decide if you've chosen a name that will serve your shild well wherever he goes in life. The other thing to consider is that if you name your child what everyone else is there will be many in his/her class with the same name. Right now in second grade, we have so many Bens that several have to go by their first and last name because they have the same initials. Naming a child is such a heady responsibility. Come to think of it BV, that sort of relates to the theme of this post and my advice. Mom and I were very close and shared a lot, so I am pretty confident of what she would have done, what she did, etc. I always tell folks, "I know what my mom would have wanted since she told me." And that's my advice, listen and ask questions and get to know folks while they are alive. Make the memories while you can. Reminds me of an old "Doonsbury" cartoon that came out at the time of the initial offering of the "Roots" mini-series, and there was a thread about one of the characters searching out and researching their roots. They went on and on about all the questions they had about their grandfather and how they might find out the answers, and the other character said, "Why don't you just ask him . . . Jemdandy, what a wonderful treasure trove you have. Lucky grand nephew. I don't honestly understand the fuss about people's stuff. If your descendants don't want your things then they can hire a removal company and it all goes away. Why bother sorting through things you don't want to keep in he first place? Do they think there is an unknown treasure to be found? And if you have things people will want, why would they be buried under decades of debris? My nice things will go to my children when they become useful for them, not when I am dead. The only problem with this plan is I have a fair amount of jewelry and no daughters. Worse comes to worst my jewelry will be sold, which is fine by me. I know my most precious pieces will be treasured by my sons since they are family things, like my grandfather's signet ring, or our wedding bands which belonged to my grandparents. I will have a few boxes of sentimental possessions, like snapshots, school things, slide rules, and baby clothes. Those are all tidy and known. One box of school things has been requested by my relative's alma mater. The notebook with the drawings they want needs some restoration, which I will take care of this year and then send deliver it to the school myself. What is left when I depart should be tidy, well labeled and easy to sort. I come from a long line of women who ruthlessly sort through their possessions often. My husband and sons, they are pack rats, but since I am in the picture, their excess stuff is all neatly sorted and labeled. If a descendent is not interested in my husband's drawer filled with spare parts for heaven knows what, they can easily to sent on their way.

Hey! I know - what about a photo taken of all four of you? For the first one, take out the "piece" with Camryn's photo on it. For the next one, show the whole family, all pieces together. Then you could put the info underneath the photo.

Is there something your family feels passionate about? In our case we were involved with animal rights, and had many pets. My daughter Gillian's birth announcement read something like this (I can't remember the exact list):

The world's dogs, cats, whales, bees, birds, seals, wolves, deer, chipmunks, and elephants announce the arrival of a new friend.

It turned out to be prophetic.

or how about something with Grant making the announcement like

Thanks everyone...you all have creative minds.

I'm thinking more along the lines of what happytime has written. I already have the whole announcement designed, I just wanted to modify the wording. I want to keep it simple and "elegant" if you will.

Ya Ya, I have 17 days. My c-section is on the 22nd.

I'm in the process of designing a bridal shower invite, but I came across these two for a birth announcement that I thought were cute.

We wished upon a star and our dream has come true.

Camryn can't wait to share the joys
Grant can't wait to share the toys
