Newbie: please point me in the right direction!
Comments (5)Thanks for all the suggestions. I will definitely make a note of them all for next year. I went through the Iris Society site and it eventually led me to some growers in my area. I found this one which is relatively close that was still shipping. I found a border bearded iris called Headline Banner. And then for the heck of it I also got some tall bearded irises called Sara's Beauty (repeat late bloomer) and Dashing (repeat early bloomer, fragrant). So who knows what I've done. They were all around $5 each so no big deal. I'll stick them in the ground like the directions say and we'll see what happens. Am I going to get hooked into irises like I did with antique roses this year? Julie Here is a link that might be useful: Nola's Iris Garden in San Jose...See MoreFabric? Comments (30)Bonnie was so kind and reached out to me for help. Bonnie, I find that I am NOT able to reply to your message, darn it. I echo some of the replies above - Fabric Guru has pieces that are remnants that are sold at even better prices than their regular prices by the yard. Joann Fabric has sales on upholstery fabric often, but not right now. I recall they usually have one around the first of the year. CLT3 also had a good idea with House Fabric - here is the link to their blues - https://www.housefabric.com/Blue-Natural-Fabric-C428.aspx and one to their fabrics on sale - https://www.housefabric.com/Fabric-Sale-Clearance-Fabric-C1250.aspx I have also used Kaufman fabric as lukkiirish is recommending above, and really like it. eBay has thousands of fabrics, by the yard or by the piece and I have bought a LOT from them. If I come up with any other places that I have bought from, I'll pop back here, but I really think you'll be able to find something at some of the places mentioned already. Best of luck!...See MoreHerringbone pattern messed up
Comments (10)The reason is he didn’t have enough tiles, he already had to redo the job once cause he didn’t used spacers and all the tiles slid while they were setting, see photos. So he had to buy new tiles and clearly didn’t buy enough to do the job properly. I guess he was hoping i wouldn’t notice. Our contractor installed the wood trim around the herringbone so to redo the job all that would have to be removed as well. @Nick @Paul Mooney...See MoreQuestion: Brick Floor Herringbone Pattern & Border
Comments (9)Yes, BeverlyFLADeziner, these photos are very helpful, especially the one that shows how the two room are joined! Thank you for finding and posting. Our space is narrow for sure; however, it will resemble the photo of the entryway that you posted. Should look fine. I posted another photos below in case my previous photo didn't show the floor. It's an L-shaped space. The sink, washer, dryer, and half bath are to the right of this space. Perhaps we'll just put the border on this part of the "L" as it is the entrance and leads straight into the kitchen and looks out to floor-to-ceiling windows with a view. Would it look odd to have the other part of the "L" (where the sink, washer, dryer, and bathroom entrance are located) in Herringbone but without a border?...See Morerpk1
