Lots of rain here too. We're supposed to get up to 5" by Sunday. That's a lot at one time. Possibly 10 feet of snow in the mountains. They say it's three storms one right after the other. Very high winds too. So far it's not windy here.

A few drizzles right now. Had a small squall this afternoon. Hunkered in for the weekend. Maybe I can get my desk cleaned off....and a whole bunch of other stuff to do around here.

Your neighbors up North (Oregon) have gotten plenty of rain to the point that we are so sick of it!!! I grew up in Northern CA (Novato) and now live in Portland. We don't mind sharing the rain with you! LOL

It is trying really hard to rain here.....but the wind is blowing a gale.
They predict a raging storm so I am glad DH and I did all our errands yesterday.

Up here in the Vancouver Island rainforest (more north than Oregon) we've had rain for the past 4 days....enough already!!!

I'm in SoCal (Irvine) and it hasn't started here yet. Supposed to hit any minute though....

San Jose has had lots of BIG (to us!) gusts and rain too. Many tree limbs down.

And here in ND, 47 above beating the records, snow on the ground, no wind and no rain.

We have been losing power on and off. Something really messed up my computer and couldn't get online till after 2PM. I tried everything while DH talked me through it. I had to reset it back to Thursday to get it to work. Don't know what caused it. Maybe a power surge?

We are at 4.20 inches since yesterday afternoon when it started around 2PM. And I can't believe the gusts of wind. Blew all the chairs off the deck. They are out in the field. I will get them tomorrow. I wonder if my garbage cans are still at the end of the driveway?

Boy, does Elvira hate this weather!!! She refuses to go out so I have to carry her, then she runs back in. She still hasn't done a main job. Told DS she might explode!

After I type this I am shutting down the computer. No point keeping it on if we keep getting power surges.

In a suburb of Sacramento.... It's been pouring and really windy since last night. Many state office buildings have lost power and have had to send folks home. My boss told me to work from home today, for which I am most grateful!!! I haven't had to leave the house all day... 'Course, we've lost power several times....

Well, it is raining hard here now.....we have been watcing the rain gauge rise.....our idea of excitement! LOL

MY GD is in Marysville,not far from Sacramento and she told me a little while ago that their power was out.She has a 3 mo old baby,so hope it doesn't stay out too long.She said they were having winds about 70mph.Holey moley,hope it passes soon.

Here in the SF bay area, the skies opened up and dumped so much rain on us. The winds were horrific. Water has been draining out of the pool since 7:30am. It's going in faster than it can get pumped out.
We have a tree down in our front yard. Fortunatly it fell away from the house or it would have crashed right through the living room window.
Roads are closed and power out everywhere.
What a storm!

Lost power at 8 this morning...just got it back at 9pm.
HATE electric stoves. Couldn't get the cars out either...electric door openers. At least I didn't have to do laundry today.

Friends in Northern CA have told us that parts of hwy. 101 have closed and the Golden Gate Transit couldn't run because the it was so windy on the bridge.

All I can say is that Oregonians are sick of this rain, even though we have webbed feet.

Interstate 80 eastbound towards Tahoe/Reno has been closed since 4:00 p.m. Friday, and the CHP doesn't expect to open it to traffic until at least 10:00 a.m. Saturday. There is ZERO visibility.

Hubs went outside this evening to check on the yard and the pool. Our 80-gallon recycle can was out there. It was still standing upright, but the wind had blown the lid open, and the dang thing was filled to the brim with rainwater!

I've been thinking about and praying for all the west coast KTers.

I did a walk about of the 2.5 acres last night at 5PM. The only damage I saw so far was I lost 2 panels on my greenhouse. And lots of trees branches everywhere but no fallen trees. That is why we cut down our tall 70-80 eucalyptus trees a year ago. We would always have one of those fall. We have had over 5 inches of rain so far. I couldn't believe those winds.

We could use rain here, but doesn't look like any's predicted. It's supposed to be in the 70's today, after a couple of nights in the 20's.

Isn't there a handle on a cord that hangs down from the garage door opener/pulley/chain/cable that you can pull so you can open your garage door during a power outage, LindaKathy? If you pull it, it disengages from the unit and you can open the door by hand. Then to reengage it, you have to drag it back up to where it locks on again, or just push the button (when you have power again) and it'll reengage itself. I've done that before when our power was out.

Yeh, Flamey, there's a release...but it's inside the garage. We're in an apt building with no inside access to the garages. Have to be able to open the garage with the remote. One garage has an outside access to use in a power failure, but the owner is in Maryland...LOL.

Oh, my gosh! How inconvenient is that??? I think there should be a contingency for something like that, my word! Your cars are being held hostage! lol I hope it wasn't for too awfully long.

Lindakathy - That happened to elder DS and DIL two years ago in Seattle. Their car was trapped in the garage of their apartment building. After 24 hours it was so cold for them that DIL was miserable and they went to a hotel. Because their power was out (and so the computer didn't work), DS called me on his cell phone. Asked me to go online and look for possible accommodations. I did, called him back, and we talked over the various details. Because his cell was losing power, he asked me to do the 1-800 calling for checking reservations. They finally got settled in a warm place. They were there for two more days. The PacNorthwest was really hit hard by that storm and some areas still haven't recovered. I think that most Americans are used to hearing about hurricane damage in the South and the tremendous blizzards in the Midwest. Few can imagine the damage done by the mild Pacific when it carries in a nasty front!

Linda - I hope that your power hangs on now and that you get through the next front, due pretty soon! We're looking at all the branches down on our property and are praying that the neighbor's oak tree doesn't crash down on our driveway. It's leaning hard on the fence and they're searching for someone to come out and look at it.

kathi mdgd - I live in Yuba City right over the bridge from Marysville - what a small world!

We haven't had power since yesterday morning at 7:00 a.m. May not get it back on today either. We have a friend that lent us a generator today so we have power for now. That's one of the worst storms I've ever seen. Winds were so high. There are so many downed trees all over the place. It's crazy around here.

Well, we've had over 10 inches of rain so far, and no power since Friday early morning. Tree limbs, trees, and power lines down all over. We probably won't get power back for another two days. I'm at the laundromat in town, which has wifi, hence my being able to update.

More rain to come...no more yippeee!
