Thank you, dilly. I like the polka dot, but I agree, it really doesn't work. Here is #3: Here is #4: How about #3 for the outside part of the crown, the solid pink sheet for the inside and for the topper, #4? Then #3 for curtain panels? Maybe a mix of #3 for the bed skirt and with #4 as a trim on it? And a very soft apple green on the walls? I think I need to order some samples to check the colors together.

Thank you everyone for the compliments and feedback. melle_sacto: That was my DH's argument as well. I was just thinking that I had searched long and hard for the perfect decorative coat rack with the scrollwork matching the bed and with it on the wall behind the door, we'll hardly see it. auntjen: Glad you like the colors. I've been telling all my 3 kids for years to use saturated colors in small doses and not all over the walls. At least I was able to convince my youngest! carriem: That is interesting you have the same cross stitch of the bears. I did it years ago and made samplers for my older two kids as well when they were babies. I never got around to doing the birth one for my youngest; but luckily they are all put away now except this one. dilly_dally: Thanks for the suggestions. I'll do just that. Guess I'll need to RAF the tables then at some point. sheesharee: Why do you think I have all the baskets and drawers as well as the closet closed? That's where all the clutter is. NGT: I am amazed at your compliments and remembering my LR when there have been so many lovely rooms. Your's is going to turn out great as well. I can't wait to see how it looks after turning things around. I meant to say, even though it's not necessarily the focal point, the desk location should be first priority so that it's in a location that suits you and everything else fall into place around that. Before switching everything around, I'd do a full days work with the desk in the new location and see how you feel after that. Function before form--but I think you can have both! We remodeled our home office and I well remember the chaos that ensued with disconnecting everything and the reconnecting it, finding new locations for files and office supplies. It was well worth it to have an efficient home office. polly: It's been a collaborative effort with DD and I. Luckily, she is at an age that while she has her own opinions on colors and fabric, I was able to take her ideas and then give her 2-3 choices that I thought could work with her making the final choice. Doesn't work so well with my soon-to-be 15-year-old DD. She's already telling me she wants to paint her room this summer. I've been trying to keep her away from doing it a vibrant orange for years now (clashes terribly with the hardwood floors) and we "compromised" with a peach room and a bright orange racing stripe, but unfortunately, neither of us like it too much. Since her room is directly across from this one, I've been suggesting an aqua/orange combo. I know, it's only paint..... ruttyhas5boys: Do you really? Have 5 boys? So did my mom and then she had me. justgotabeme: Thanks! chicagoans: Yes, they are fun!

The issue is scale. You can certainly have another pattern in the space as long as it is smaller than the rug pattern (not hard, LOL) and has at least some of the same colors. This would work (in the linen/black combo): ingrid comforter This would be nice: galleria comforter This, tho it looks white, is described as ivory: tessa Instead of replacing the comforter, you could also find fabric you like and make a duvet cover. You can use two sheets, or just fabric. That opens up more possibilities. Just look for fabric that has the colors you need in a different scale pattern. Something like this would work: cartwheel spring tuxedo A larger scale polka-dot would be fun, too. An animal print could work as well. There is this one, which might be a bit of a stretch, but I like how it could bring in some lime or pink to break up all the dark colors: galaxy black

kmcg85- Love that pink! It definately has that cheerful look about it. But I'm not sure it will match with the pink in the comforter. I took my comforter to SW and the interior designer there matched the other colors with it, because I am not good at choosing colors. busybee3- Ice plant looked alittle on the purplish side with the comforter. The window treatments are the same ones that come with the comforter set, valance and Black and white polka dot drapes. I'm planning on doing alot of black and white polka dot accessories. lori111- Thanks! If it was up to me I would do soft white walls, but dd REALLY wants pink walls!
