Oh you poor thing. I can relate to the red itchy rash. I developed one over two years ago on my elbows and forearms. It then spread to my knees. This itch was so intense that I wanted to keep scratching even though my skin was raw. First I was diagnosed with psoriasis (wrong) - then after waiting 6 months to see a dermatologist I was diagnosed with Dermatitis Herpetiformis. This rash is associated with Celiac Disease. I do not have Celiac Disease. Went through blood tests, endoscopies, colonoscopies, biopsies. All which showed no Celiac and the biopsy came back as folliculitis. Inflammation of the hair follicles. This Dermatologist put me on a pill called Dapsone. This pill was prescirbed years ago to people with Leprosy. Well, I thought I died and went to heaven when I first started taking this med. The rash disappeared - no more itching. However, two years later my bones ache, my joints ache not to mention I am so badly anemic. I feel like I'm 100! I'm told this is all because of the Dapsone. I have asked to see another Dermatologist. Remember I live in Canada. I received the referral in January/08 and my appt. is scheduled for October 28/08. Nothing like waiting 10 months. Don't feel too bad - 1 week is nothing, although it seems like forever when there is discomfort!!

Hi Linda_6: Dirty tools can spread fungal and bacterial infection. Two cheap things that kill both fungal and bacterial infection: Clean with hydrogen perioxide (50 cents), and apply apple vinegar cider ($1.29). Google anti-fungal properties of both and you'll see. I had been plagued with reddish & horrible itch & peeling skin on my right hand for years. Nothing helps, not even prescribed cream or MehylPREDNISolone prescribed by the doctor. Abstaining from nuts didn't help. I spent one day researching on eczema and many folks reported solving it 100% through apple cider, iodine, or hydrogen peroxide. All 3 agents kill fungal and bacteria, with Iodine listed as the best antiviral, antifungal, and antiseptic. I dunk my entire right hand in hydrogen peroxide since it's cheap at 50 cents per bottle. I googled "athletic foot" and my right-hand rash looks exactly like that: fungal infection, since it's ONLY ON my right hand. I also drink 1 cup of Kefir everyday, and use Aquaphor to heal the blisters. My hard-well & very alkaline water has a lot to do with eczema, both with my kid when she was a baby, and now my right hand. Probiotics like Kefir help because those bacteria helps to regulate my body's pH, making it more acidic to promote healthy bacteria flora, plus suppressing pathogenic fungi. We found the IKEA one pictured (first one) to be worthless. It gave off no light. It is rated for too small a bulb I put two of them in our basement hall years ago. For our new guest room we decided we didn't want to go with such a BAM fixture it is what people noticed when coming into the room. I think there are times the fixture is part of the decor and make a statement but for us the guest room wasn't one of these places. We replaced the circa '70s builder's grade square glass cover with a frosted round one. Not a huge step up by any means, $6.00 at Menards..but it updated and can hold 60 watt bulbs.

The title of this thread caught my attention, and I skipped down to comment because I hate the word 'boobs' for breasts too. Maybe because to me, the word has always meant a stupid, clownish person?
