The pills I have are too small I think to try & split; I will try the flush-free niancin pills again though. Yes, I think a lot of it has to do to heridity also: I am out in the sun (no sunscreen/tan-no burn... ashamed to say!) some days 6 hrs. at a time & live at a mile high, hot summers/cold winters,arid area- zone 7. Still, after taking 5,000 IU of Dry Vitamin D-3 daily my levels are on the 'low' side but bone density still OK! Daughter-in-law is a therapist & believes in alternative medicine ... herbs, 'tapping' etc.& I am western medicine trained so find it hard to accept/understand some of it. The mfg.& testing of those things is not scrutinized as well here in the U.S.as prescriptiom drugs are I feel! Our doctor is from Pakistan & he will suggest some things like tumeric capsules, the B12, etc. but doesn't push it. Mediterranean diet? we don't care for seafood nor olive oil, wine... but the fruit, etc. OK! One study of a group of close knit people in a small mediterranean village had one of the highest blood lipid levels on record ... & also very long & healthy lengivities! Go figure?!

I have not eaten meat for over twenty years, but I do sometimes have seafood. I'm not malnourished and I don't have gas - this is the first time I have ever heard that non meat eaters are gaseous. TG and I have been together for ten years and while he eats less eat than he would on his own, he regularly eats meat. I don't eat foods with marshmallows, gelatin, lard or other meat products - I have been reading labels for a long time, but I'm always surprised when people ask "but what do you eat?". I eat pretty much everything, except meat. Everyone is having pizza? I'll have vegetable pizza. Pasta? marinara sauce or a variety of other choices. Burgers? I'll have a garden burger. I love grilled veggies- try a grilled portabella mushroom. I'm perfectly happy with a big baked potato and broccoli for dinner. I make a variety of bean dishes. Mexican and asian dishes are easy to prepare without meat. I've certainly witnessed, but never understood the sort of judgment against vegetarians that rivkadr describes. I don't care what any one else eats (including people in my own house), so I don't understand why people care what I eat or don't eat. Do what works for you and good luck!

We all had/have horrible, nightmarish cycle issues. PMS, cramps, hemorrhagic bleeding, you name it we got it. And all of us have wanted to kill our friends when they would start with that blithe 'oh yeah I had a cramp once, I think' and 'no, I don't really do PMS'. And then comes perimenopause and the light dawns for those lucky, lucky ladies-yeah, it's not much fun, is it. Me, bitter? Me, vengeful? Me, obnoxious? Guilty as charged LOL. Seriously, I hope those who are having a rough time seek medical assistance because some of the suffering can be relieved. And I'm here to say that time really does make it better, at least it has for me. Personally after living with the aptly named curse for 40+ years (menarche at 11, menopause at 52) my life post-menopause is rainbows and lollipops. Other than issues with dryness and lack of libido caused by hormonal changes in my organs....menopause has been the biggest blessing in my life. I feel so much better on a daily basis, my moods are more even, I don't have to deal with the monthly agonies. Wouldn't go back for anything. I think I'm done with hot flashes and night sweats too -

I was experiencing a sudden onset of odd sensations starting in Jan. 2015. Burning Mouth Syndrome set in and also numb/tingling around my nose area and forehead moving up to the top of my head. It would come and go and would not always be in the same spot. Evenings were worse than during the day. I thought I had a brain tumor and was online every night trying to find out what was wrong. Many forums mentioned low vitamin B12 as a culprit for menopause problems. In June I started taking gummy B12 supplements (I'm 50 and still struggle taking pills!). What a difference this has made for me, every once in awhile I will get some tingling but not very often. My levels were not deficient before I started taking B12 but it has changed everything for the better.
