Could someone tell me the difference between codein and hydrocodone? Thanks

Not much.

codeine is the basic drug
hydrocodone is an altered form of it, with higher cough suppressant properties, and stronger. Five mg of hydrocodone is equivalent to 30 mg of codeine when administered orally.

If you are taking it for cough, watch out for constipation. And for that reason, try to limit it's use.

Noki, these plants are actually very easy if you live in a winter-rainfall-area. Otherwise, you adjust accordingly. Grows in winter, doesn't in summer, yet is a sculptural leafless beauty in the height of summer. There are shrubs of it in San Diego County that would envelope small families. You do nothing in the summer - leave it alone, with the barest of sips (perhaps) once a month. I had mine both PIGed and in pots and the treatment was the same, pretty much, except I didn't water the PIGed plants (they were in the same bed as the Dudleyas, another excellent SouCal plant). Plants adapt - if they leaf out in spring there, they'll leaf out in spring here. Same-same with winter-growing plants - if they're leafing in September, there's nothing to dismember. Wait, if they're leafing in fall there, they're leafing in fall here, but like your favourite box of cereal, some settling will occur with them modifying their growing time to what's programmed in their DNA. Yet that too can be modified, so what I'm telling you is for general purposes only - your mileage will vary, but yes, by and large this is how they do it. Not sure what you mean by "knocks you out" - makes you groggy in the manner of Benadryl, or just sort of fuzzy headed (i've heard both descriptions from others, although I don't get either effect myself. I do find it has a noticeable sedating effect though). Probably you will get accustomed to it, and in a few weeks the side effects will wane (as with other opiates/opioids). I find it takes longer with codeine than with hydrocodone or oxycodone though. Hydrocodone is alot like codeine, except that codeine is a natural derivative of opium plants whilst hydrocodone is synthetic. Hydrocodone is also much stronger, so the 60mg of codeine in a Tylenol #4 tablet is about as effective as 10mg of hydrocodone.

Are you kidding? I swear by the stuff!!! I usually use the regular one in the blue bottle -- Costco sells it for less. It was recommended to me by an HMO doctor when my asthma got bad almost two years ago and it has really helped with that. Also, when I get a cold I take it and it seems to stave off the secondary sinus and ear infections I commonly got. Robitussin expectorant cough syrup has the same active ingredient, but I like the 12-hour formula contained in Mucinex. I have also taken the Mucinex cough formula that you got, with good results, and my cousin likes the one with decongestant when her allergies are acting up.

Do you get pulled over often? I don't know the statistics of being pulled over in general, plus the rare event of carrying the drugs, but I think I'd just roll the dice. Your story reminds me of when I first moved to NYC and was working freelance doing secretarial stuff for a guy who had quite a lifestyle. One time he was late paying off his bookie and had to get the guy money right away. My boss gave me a brown paper bag filled with $20,000 cash and instructions to take a cab to an address across town. But when I got down to the street, I didn't see any cabs, so I just took the subway with that brown paper bag. I figured the bag didn't look like anything interesting and I was just wearing jeans and a tee shirt, not looking like big bucks. Called my boss after the delivery and he was shocked that I made it so fast. He almost had a heart attack when he found out that I had taken the subway. But I rolled the dice, plus got to pocket the cab fare :-)

Hydrocodone is a pain killer. Has nothing to do with cough suppressant. It is substituted for Vicadin.

Yes, hydrocodone is used in the cough syrup Tussinex. It works well on the many people that are allergic to Codeine. You are right, hydrocodone (Vicodin) IS a pain killer, but also used in liquid form for cough.

Hydrocodone (Vicoden) comes in 2 streangths 5/500 and 7.5/750 the 5 or 7.5 stands for that amount on codeine in it and the other number is the milligrams of acetiminophen (Tylenol). If you take vicoden becareful how much Tylenol you take in addition to it. Tylenol is very hard on the liver.
