please pray for my friend

i am asking for prayer for my friend of about 35 years who just found out she has terminal lung and brain cancer....she has had a very tough life and this seems to be the final blow....maybe if we all pray for her a miracle will happen...she is very synical about life and we have never discussed our beliefs but i feel as if now is the timefor me to share mine with her and let her know how faith can help get one thru terrible times....thank you all for listening....this is such a hard time for me also since tomorrow will mark 3 years since i lost my daughter so if you could say a little prayer for my family i would be grateful..God bless

My prayer is for your friend to find comfort and peace.
My prayer for you is for strength in the coming days.
Tomorrow is a hard day, supporting your friend is hard as well.
I trust the right words will come to you to give her hope.

Terri, I am real sorry about your dear friend. this is devastating news and i suspect she will depend on someone like you for her strength. i know she also has a daughter and new grandson. we can never explain why things like this happen, but you have been a good friend to her. we will keep her in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

also, i know today is a tough one for you. losing jamie 3 years ago is on all our minds today. you have not been in the forum recently but i actually posted last week about jamie - sorry about that. she has been heavy on my mind.

my thoughts and prayers are with you. your brother will be there tomorrow - hope he can help thru this difficult time.

much love sent your way. between all this and dad facing surgery and your DH having problems as well.....you are a pilar of strength.

He is still in serious condition but is talking and has his wits about him! (Poor Nurses!) He has very limited movement in his left leg but is still unable to move his left arm. Lots of tests left to do and probably alot of physical therapy. I am taking care of the farm and watering all his flowers. Pray for rain also!

Jolana, he has always been a dominant male. Especially since he was convinced, by Mother, that he could walk on water. About 5 years ago he, his wife and I took my motor home to CA and back. He made all the trip plans and stops. He had never driven an RV before. After he jumped me for about the 3rd time for not doing something his way or when he told me. I jumped in with both feet and ate him up one side and down the other. I told him he was not my employer nor my husband and not to tell me what to do. He started to say something and I said and "don't interupt me either" I told him for all I cared, he could walk home. I thought his eyes would fall out. No woman had ever "talked" to him like that. My SIL was bug eyed too. LOL We really are close, I think I just took him so by surprise. I think he is "skeered" of me now.

Well, thank you, Sally. My son looks like his father, but the other two look like Daddy and are tall like Daddy. Their goal was always to be as tall as grandad. Mary, his bride of 1 1/2 years, takes very good care of Daddy. Mary told me that she always thought it was "funny" when old people married. But then she met Daddy. Isn't that sweet?

I told Mom about you guys tonite when I visited and she was so amazed that strangers would hope and pray for her and I told her "they're not strangers they're my friends and they know you I've mentioned you and Gram and they know how special you are" and she got all choked up and asked me to please thank you all because [Like I said!!] she felt very empowered and strong and ready going into surgery and she said she could only attribute that to her friends and family, she felt enveloped. On a lighter note, I couldn't bring flowers to the ICU its a nono - so my Mom mentioned continuing the health trend from this setback by making smoothies [ok the dietician and orderly got her revved because they know she'll be limited for a while after surgery] so I bought her a smoothie machine with a big ole purple bow :) She *loved* it!! They may move her out of ICU and into the regular wing as early as this weekend pending things go well. How cool is that? Yay MOM!

Terri, I'm just now getting this. I hope your day hasn't been too terribly bad. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and also your friend. I'm so sorry. Maybe you can make a very positive difference in the life she has left.

RESIST THIS TEMPTATION ... a friend of mine refers to it as "vulture Christianity". Be there, support her, but respect her beliefs (and her not believing as you do is still a firmly held belief).

I am so sorry about your friend, Terrizx. My son is in a similar position, he is 30 and it is such a hard thing to deal with. We have to follow his lead as far as what he wants to talk about and how he wants to handle this part of his life. Just let your friend know that you are there at any time of the day or night if she wants to talk.
I am sorry about the loss of your daughter. I imagine that sometimes the grief is just as raw as it was three years ago.Elspeth

Terri I'm adding my prayers for your friend and you.
Try to help your friend make the most of each day so when her time does come she has no regrets - good advice for us all actually.
