There is a company that makes a product called E T Air Ride. www.ztpuffer.com You mount this air ride system on your mower then mount your current seat on top of it. If you have a seat that slides you can still slide your seat. It raises your seat a few inches so you need to build some wood platform to support your body, no big deal. You hook the power side to the ignition switch so it shuts off when you shut mower off. John Deere dealer was helping me get the correct wire. I'm looking forward to using it as my tailbone is sore. Age has nothing to do with it. Lawnmower manufacturers don't want to spend the extra money to build this into their mowers.

Hello, Jerri. We've just placed my Mom in a nursing home, and it was probably the most difficult decision I've ever had to make. She's lived with us for 11 years or more. Even at my age, caring for all her needs 24/7 became difficult. I agree with Momj47 who brought up the subject of placing them. It's time. She also mentioned the isolation: I could not possibly leave the house at ANY time, as her personal care when she went to the bathroom was so necessary, and naturally she wouldn't allow my DH to assist her. I became a willing prisoner. And the frustration was also becoming a factor: everything Mom did took so much effort on her part, that it was difficult to watch and difficult to always be patient with. When I saw her leaning on the stove a month or so ago, and playing with the knobs, I was nearly in a panic: what would have happened if she turned the element on that she was leaning on?!! I could barely leave her alone at all. Love the intervention idea of Momj47, also. There really isn't a time they say, "Yep. Today's the day! Off to the nursing home!" What they may have heard about them over the years probably is far from the reality of most of them now. They may remember the stories about neglect, poor food, etc, but there are wonderful places out there, and perhaps if he visited them, he may see that for himself. You cannot leave this decision to your Dad at this point in time. Gads...I'm middle-aged and I could hardly keep up the 24-hour care for my Mom required! Think how difficult it is on your Dad! Believe me, I know first-hand how hard this will be on you and your family, but now that Mom has been there for a full week, I see her inter-acting with others there, being pampered by her care-workers, playing kick-ball and bingo (with help), I'm so happy with our decision! NOW I'm guilty that I didn't do it sooner! Sitting in the house watching tv just isn't the same as the vital environment she has now. As for your Mom losing weight, baring anything medical, this is normal with the passing of time, according to our doc: as we age, we just don't have the capacity to process foods like we used to, and therefore don't get the fat, nutrition anymore. This is normal. As for foods, you've been given great advice here. My Mom loved it when we brought home french-fries! She enjoyed pastries, ice-cream, scrambled eggs dripping in butter, stove-top stuffing with meat-loaf (easy to eat), Kraft dinner, those microwaveable entrees such as Mrs. Michelina's, apple-sauce, bananas, fruit-cocktail and other canned fruits with soft sandwiches, such as egg-salad/salmon/deviled ham/bacon and tomato, french toast, pancakes, soft veggies, mashed potatoes (we don't eat that, so the boxed kind was just as good!)...Toss out the Food Guide: this is no time for salads (difficult for many of them to chew)... Like Abreeze said: anything that they may have enjoyed (even in the past) would be a good place to start! All I can think of is your Dad trying to care for your Mom: it's so exhausting, and he is caring for her out of Love, but the reality is, that there's a better way. Honestly: once you see them after a week or so in nursing care, you'll wonder why you took so long to decide! You and your family are in my prayers Blessings Linda

I never SAID Accutane did anything for pilonidal cysts. They did help with the massive number of cysts he got on his upper body and face/head/neck, but never did a thing with other types of cysts he has had. His pilonidal cyst has been gone for a good three years now, and trust me, I check that little scar on a regular basis while I'm looking him over for developing cysts, weird-looking moles, and other skin irregularities... we trade, he does my monthly mole checks and breast exams. LOL HIS doctor says that it does happen that they do just sometimes recede on their own and never present any problems, so he prefers to leave them alone unless they're actually causing problems other than cosmetic. (Long story as to why DH's wasn't removed when it was being cyclically nasty, and I'm unfortunately extremely familiar with the contents of pilonidal cysts TYVM.)

A better name for The Best Home Furnishing Company is "The Worst Home Furnishings Company" when it comes to customer service and standing behind their products. Don’t walk away from this brand, RUN QUICKLY! My wife and I live in Minnesota, but have a park model home in Estero, FL. We purchased a Best Home Furnishings recliner in February of 2016 from a furniture store in Naples, FL. Our home in FL is only occupied for two weeks in November, and the months of February and March each year. When we arrived in November of 2018, we noticed that the fabric was cracking on the headrest. Our home is air conditioned all year round, has proper humidity, the windows are tinted, and we have shades that are closed when we are gone. Furniture could not have a better environment to sit in. I took the back of the chair off in November of 2018 and took it to Kanes Furniture where we purchased the chair. My goal was to simply replace the back. We were informed that model had been discontinued so no back was available. That should have been my first clue to how Best Home Furnishings handles a chair that has problems……just discontinue it. The next thing we were told is the chair is out of warranty. I explained that I understand there is a calendar warranty, but further explained how little the chair had been used. I felt that the company should stand behind it due to the little wear and tear this chair had actually incurred, and I was sure there was a problem with the material used to cover this model chair. I totaled up the number of days that anyone could have sat in the chair, and it was 189. We had two Flexsteel recliners in our home in Minnesota that provided over 30 years of trouble free service. Speaks volumes to the old saying, “you get what you pay for”. The furniture store at least listened to me and provided the phone number of manufacturer of the chair, The Best Home Furnishings Company in Ferdinand, Indiana. (at least this was where my call went) When you call with a complaint the first thing you will find is the people who answer the phone have been trained to get rid of you quickly. They have no intention to let you talk to anyone of authority. After a firm back and forth with the lady that answered the phone she finally told me “I am just doing my job”. Really? Discarding a customer with a concern about your product is your job? Fortunately, I was able to push through to someone up the ladder named Pat. Three voice mails and a week later Pat did call me back. From their website and years in business I was sure I would find Best Home Furnishings a reputable company that would be concerned about this product’s failure and would want to have a discussion and find common ground…... NOT THE CASE. Once on the phone with Pat, I repeated what I told Kane’s Furniture and assumed Pat would be familiar with this problem and work with me to find a fair solution……not a chance. Pat is very well trained to hear your concern and then repeat "sorry, it is out of warranty and we can’t help you” multiple times until the discussion ends. He made no effort to keep us as a customer. It was obvious he just wanted to discard us as quickly as he could. The lack of finding a phone number on their website should have been a excellent indicator to me of their customer service. If it is there, they have done a good job of hiding it. Speak with a customer, good heavens, that’s a concept from the 20th century!! The only manner of contact I could find on the site was to email them. Before you purchase any product made by The Best Home Furnishings Company from a furniture store, you may want to visit the Better Business Bureau website and read about them. The BBB shows 32 complaints about this company for various reasons. In addition, on Google they are only able to achieve a 3.6 star rating. I have been self employed for over 40 years, am 65 years old and do not make a habit of writing negative reviews. The Best Home Furnishing Company brags about being in business since 1962 and quality of their furniture building process. It is obvious to me that the original owners of this company are no longer active as I am sure they would have met this problem with a completely different attitude….the attitude that cared about customer satisfaction, quality furniture, and allowed The Best Home Furnishings Company to grow and prosper. Lastly, I will “venture a guess” the reason they took the “cut & run” attitude with me is there are probably hundreds or thousands of customers across America just like me that have a Best Chair with the same defective cover. Class Action Lawsuit time? Let's band together and send a message. When a quality company has a problem with a product, they either extend the warranty or have a recall to make sure people get taken care of. Not run from the problem like The Best Home Furnishings Company is doing. Most successful companies want repeat customers. Shame on you! Dave Nolander
