Your title caught my eye, and thats just how I felt last night when I read a post titled Lasagna gardening, I could not believe my eyes that with this method you dont have to labor by diging thousands of holes. Like you said you cant wait to read all the forums, just dont read the front pages go thur all the pages, it was on the back pages where I found, that wonderful article about Lasagna gardening. Yea your Blue Heaven looks to have basically no die back. My 4 BH's died back to the halfway point or a little worse. I do not winter protect them. I really had to look hard but found one little bud on one of my BH's. Here is the pic of it Here are a few other pics of some better buds on other reblooming hydrangeas in my yard.

Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving! The weather was really beautiful here last week. I think our high on Thanksgiving day was 75F. So on "Black Friday" I received 2 packages I've been waiting for all week. One from Derrick and one from Matt. I know it's getting close to winter time but if the weather permits, I must round up a few more plumies! When I visited Derrick earlier this month, his rooted Special Hilo Beauty caught my eye. Even though I already have 2 Hilo Beauty, I just couldn't say no to this one. So I paid $40 for postage to get it shipped to me (and you'll see why it's worth every dime). Derrick told me he had broken off a small tip when he potted the cutting but another new tip eventually grew out! It's a bit unsightly since it branched out at an angle. I think you can train branches to grow straight correct? Also, last week I got around to potted the 10 cuttings I brought back from Hawaii. Mike, I hope you don't mind I potted yours too. It didn't feel right leaving it out in all the rooting fun. Hopefully by spring, it'll come to you with roots! That's all for now! Kenny

Dang. The preserved goodies are as good as gone already. And Nancy and I had the same taste in cookbooks for our baker swap partners - shall I just say Great Minds Think Alike?? So the only thing left I can lay claim to is that GORGEOUS wooden basket. However, it sounds like I'll have to fight Jessy for it. Which I am fully prepared to do. I'm 6' tall - how tall is Jessy? I'm thinking leg wrestling, which I will win, or perhaps just a plain ol' knock down. It would be worth it for that basket! Yeah, I can take 'er. Pretty sure.
