as i sit in heaven

as i sit in heaven and watch you every day
i try and let you know with signs, i never went away.
i hear you when you're laughing, and watch you as you sleep
i even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep.
i see you wish the days away, begging to have me home
so i try to send you signs so you know you're not alone.
don't feel guilty that you have life that was denied to me
heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see.
so live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free
then i'll know with every breath you take
you'll be taking one for me.

Beautiful, I will pass this on to my best friend who just lost her husband of 34 years.

so very sorry for your friend's loss. it will soon be 6 years since i lost my husband. some days, i still struggle.

Your title caught my eye, and thats just how I felt last night when I read a post titled Lasagna gardening, I could not believe my eyes that with this method you dont have to labor by diging thousands of holes. Hi popmama, I am in east Denver. I have been here about 10 years and this is the first year I have attracted hummingbirds to my yard. We just moved but only a few blocks from where we previously were living. Our last yard was small with many flowers - No hummers. It might've been due to the fact we were on a corner and it was a more noisy location. We now are on a VERY quiet block, we have a larger yard...much more lush with many trees and bushes, we don't have any flowers planted yet this year as we are still settling in, but we do have 3 feeders. In the past 2 weeks my hummers have increased in number from 1 to approx. 6 or more!! Just keep your feeders out and make sure they are cleaned every 2 days in this intense heat we are getting - don't give up - they will come!

Verna, put that sewing machine on the patio! On second thought the capes still might not be fininshed if you can't take your eyes off the hummers long enough to sew. Well, I will be running the fundraising office for the college. As Ellen knows, fundraising is my passion, and I love organization (although I am not as expert as mustangs is), so to get paid to do what I love is pretty cool. The school has great benefits, and I have already received 4 welcome e-mails from some of the people who work there. That really impresses me. The drive is 37 minutes. I am not crazy about that, but I go to Kalamazoo all the time anyway, and my two littlest grandbabies live only 12 minutes away from my work, so it won't be too bad at all. I still will teach classes at the junior college at night, so I will get to do a lot of things that I love. Thank you for all your support. Now everybody can breathe a sigh of relief that I won't be whining anymore about unemployment! Sherry

Thanks nina, I imagine you will have days you struggle for the rest of your life. As I told my girlfriend the day he passed away, "You & your life will never be the same" and shes repeated that back to me many times in the past 3 1/2 months.

yes, christine, i have found that grief is a very long road, one that i would much prefer not to have to travel but someone told me a while after gary's death that i cannot go around grief, i must go through it. please give your friend my best and tell her she will get through this. i cannot say it ever gets better, but it does get "different". more tolerable as time goes by and less a way of life.
