Well, this thread has been so helpful for me getting ready for DH’s outpatient surgery this coming Monday morning (7/14). I went ahead and bought this amazing bed pillow package via A….n. DH is very impressed with the quality, although he doubts he will need them all. We’ll see, though. I can see myself using some while reading in bed once he’s rehabbed. Ded, his sling looks like yours, but has a rectangular soft pillow to fit under his upper arm right under the shoulder.

Considering the small pot size, 5" diameter, there are so many of the visible roots well outside the original pot area, which to me is a positive thing (iirc: I was able to spread out a good portion of the finer roots at planting time). 34" current height so it must have grown ~10" since planting. And the mulch circle is only 24" diameter, so the close-up pictures may make the roots look more widespread than they are, although some may be elongating outside the ring by now. JIC: I put some 'see through' burlap sunshade on it for now, even though it's the only thing in my yard that has a sunshade this time of year. With the lower sun angle and shorter days, I want the plants to build energy in the root mass.

I just had cataract surgery and now have the Toric lenses. I was given a choice of three different options. The first option was basic that Medicare would cover. I'd still need glasses for distance and to read. I had astigmatism and my ophthalmologist surgeon said he could correct it with Toric lenses so I wouldn't need glasses for distance. $4,440 out of pocket for both eyes. He said I may still readers. It turned out my vision is now 20/20 and I don't need glasses at all. After I had each eye done two weeks apart, I couldn't read for two days afterwards. Apparently the back and forth motion of your pupils can dislodge the lens. After those first two days I was back to reading. I also had "dropless" cataract surgery. I would have needed to use 3-4 different eyedrops five times a day. No thanks. Instead, I had the medicine in all those drops put in during the procedure, for a slow release. I then only had one drop to put in daily. Overall, I'm loving not having to wear glasses. My procedure was uneventful. It's amazing how much brighter everything is. I always thought my ceiling is an off white. Removing those clouded lenses and now my ceiling looks white. The difference in colors and the brightness is amazing.
