Its not possible. But what you can do, is open your HTML page in a text editor and shift all your code way down the page...but its pointless.

Need a good source of 'GOOD' seeds for next year

First, let me say that I'm not a commercial vendor or business. I have more varieties & seeds than I can grow and offer my extras at a cheap price to cover shipping, special envelopes, expenses, ebay & Paypal fees, etc. What I make is miniscule--it's almost a break-even in small amounts, and considering what it costs me in supplies & utilities to grow them til harvest, it may even be a net loss. Any money goes towards food on the table & my mother's Rx's or supplies. Without getting too personal here, she's diabetic & mid-level Alzheimers and I have more than 1 handicap/disability. As many here may know, I've given away many seeds for free in the past, both here & other places, as well as sometimes trading & bartering. This is just a way to get some harder to find seeds out there to people to grow, some aren't easily available commercially, (Olive Hill was great this year!) so it's a good cause both ways. I've distributed probably 20+ packs for free this year at the Buffalo-Niagara Tomato Tastefest party, in addition to donating 60 packs to the event as winner prizes, some still unclaimed (actually 50 packs--I won Smallest Tomato category! Anybody that won please contact me by e-mail if you still haven't picked your choices--yes, YOU get to choose 10 packs!) Anyway, generally 20-30 seeds per pack, even more for some small seeded varieties... about 300 tomato varieties, it increases every year. While I often use generic descriptions, I also try to include personal comments on how they did or what I thought of them. Pics are available for most so you know what they should look like, what the seeds came out of. Many are not bagged but I use some unique practices like isolation, distraction planting, timing, location/selection, etc. Commercial places don't bag blossoms, though they do grow larger #'s of plants to reduce their chances of crossing. I actually make it very difficult for crosses to occur. You really have to throw the plant distance/closeness theory out the window and think outside the box on this one--I've actually found that others that plant with sufficient or great space between plants often get crossed seeds and I don't. Plus I often regrow my seeds the following year to insure what it's supposed to be, not just germinating to check leaf type. If you feel you've got a variety that isn't what it was meant to be, I encourage everyone to e-mail me at matermark@gmail.com to let me know about it and I'll pull it and make good on it. And if I grow a variety from well known commercial sources that you've already mentioned here, and it's not correct, (yes, it happens many times, from many you've recommended above), I come right out and say it's suspect (say, PL Watermelon Beefsteak or WinsAll) & don't offer it, pull it or replace it. I usually outright discard seeds and try another source if it doesn't seem like what it should be, instead of selling those seeds or giving them away as "bonus" seeds like some often-recommended-here companies do--ie: Azoychka bonus seeds many are familiar with....plus you know what I've went through re: Dr. Lyle... Yes, many places charge shipping or handling charges that often are higher than the seeds... plus many people compromise what they grow because of high S/H costs incurred from ordering from multiple places. I've found ways to cut those costs considerably, so I pay the shipping. I don't really have any minimum order levels though try to stay in nice rounded numbers like $3-5-10, and have even worked with people with smaller quantities of each variety, of course it takes much more time & is more expensive for me to pull 20 packs of just 5 seeds than 5 packs of 20 seeds. And you don't need to be an ebay member either, it's just that that is my most common, easily accessable outlet, and I use it in the spring mostly, when I have all my seeds together, ready to decide which to plant. I also put my extra plants on craigslist in May for a buck or 2. So, once again, I'm not a business, and this isn't an ad or an offer--I'm an enthusiast. Like I said, if someone is looking for just 1 variety or so, I often help at no cost or SASE if it's something I have enough of and easy to get to & have time. Hope this helps. Mark, who must harvest peppers, take a "non-compliant" diabetic mother shopping for Halloween candy "for Trick or Treaters" she says, carve 2 Atlantic Giant pumpkins in the cold, and hopefully finish planting my garlic. Still no frost yet here in the metropolis named after "beautiful river", but expecting one tonight, almost a month later than usual...

kirkhall the north side/wall is at the top of the drawing, the south at the bottom. (the north arrow is shown to the right of the first floor). The wall facing south is the one with the front door, so its where the sun comes from most of the day. just fyi, there is about 7.5 ft ceiling height 5 ft from the south wall in the master bathroom, and there is a dormer in the center, which adds extra ceiling height (although not where the toilet is shown) (Also the dormers are not very clearly drawn...sorry about that....these are my drawings, so you know...drafting standards are lax, or rather non existent....) having the master suite upstairs in these cape style houses is tricky, in my opinion. the layouts in these houses are really constrained with the reduced ceiling height at those walls. however, the overall style has a lot of appeal for many reasons for us (appearance, energy efficiency, cost to build, etc.) the ridge runs east to west, and there is a lot of height there (entrance to master bedroom, loft overlooking below, and guest bath) I was originally advocating for the master suite on the first floor, for one floor living if necessary. DH has successfully argued for keeping all of the "public" areas downstairs, and "private areas" upstairs. Upstairs will have a cozy feel. He says we can always put an elevator in where the closet by the stairs is (1st floor) if we have too (I bet that's not cheap!). I'm with you on walking into the master bedroom facing the closet. it doesn't seem ideal for sure. I'm open to ideas. just keep in mind, that big window in the dormer on the north wall in the master bedroom looks out over the property and has views of the mountains. I don't want to block it with a closet. kelhuck re point 1) - i didn't even think about that. We toured a house with the stairs arranged just like it, and thought it was great. That's a good point though. I've thought about the stairs quite a bit, but never from that angle (odd in retrospect). They also had a little more space between the stairs and front door than I'm showing. 2)laundry - yeah, this is a big one for me. I go round and round on this:) The trade-off is to just have a laundry closet, but have the laundry upstairs, or put it in the mud-room, have more space, but have to haul laundry up and down stairs all the time. right now, i'm leaning towards not caring if the laundry clutters up the loft a bit, but there is not much room there at all, its only barely works. currently, my washer and dryer are in our garage, which is not conditioned. I bring baskets of laundry back into our bedroom, and process everything there. S, its not far fetched to have a small closet, but the appeal of a little room I can close off is strong. I swear I want a new house just for a space conditioned laundry room:) 3) pretty much, yes. the appeal of timber homes is showing off the structure, those gorgeous timbers. all timber homes I've seen have a least some two story view inside. however, there is strong sentiment on this board against it, that its loud. since I've never lived in a house like this, I'm inclined to listen. its a valid point, especially when its more than just the two of us (guests and/or kids). even just making the open to below over the foyer instead of the tv/family/living room may solve that. I dunno yet. I'll have a chat w/ dh about it later. 4) dont' worry about insulation, the entire house is going to be wrapped in SIPS. initial calcs for the efficiency we are looking for are calling for 10" SIPS, whereas almost everyone uses 6". No worries, this house will be tight (and require mechanical ventilation). we are focusing heavily on the envelope, so our budget is focused on SIPS and windows. I may even hae to sacrifice my nice kitchen initially (blasphemy!) in order to pay for it up front, but we'll see. liriodendron - that's awesome that you are using PV. the price is coming down, so its actually starting to make sense to pay for it, instead of just being for people like dh and me, who just have non-mainstream tastes and interest (energy nuts, sort of:) the property was logged 5 years before we bought it, so it doesn't have many trees (no trees anywhere near the home site) (and its an ugly mess, we've just now started re-planting). the south facing garage roof will have full sun all day. if it weren't for that, we would angle the house more, so the back faces the mountains a bit better, but we didn't want to sacrifice the front/south wall of the house with respect to facing the sun too much. we like PV just cause we think its neat, and we're trying hard to justify it, but it may be a few years down the road before we consider actually paying for it.

META tags will probably not do the job. Google and the like ignore them (and for good reason, I could type whatever I wanted in there whether my page was about it or not), instead their bots scan the actual content of the page. This puts flash sites at a disadvantage because the content cannot be read. In my opinion, flash is a useful tool in creating multimedia applications and presentations but it should NEVER have been used for web pages. It not only keeps the page from being indexed correctly in search engines, but keeps the pages from being able to be viewed by users with disabilities (those using aural, braille, or text based browsers). If you are just learning web design, I recommend getting a book on XHTML (eXtensible HTML) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). The w3c (Wolrd Wide Web Consortium) has listed these as the standards for web content and design respectively. By using CSS to describe ALL of your design parameters you allow greater access to the content of you site.

Try using two distinct HTML files: on the first one write your "to be hide" code and, on the second one, call the first one using the #include clause (you can found more explanations about this clause on the web).

Do you really think your html coding is that important? well there is a java script for no right click if you dont want anyone to save your images. And you can use CSS web pages to hide some of the coding. Even better now is that you can put encoding on your pages so if you catch someone using your "copyrighted" stuff, you can prove they took it from you.

I'd like to know how the following site hides its HTML....

www.bejewelled.net

The screen enlarges and covers up the entire Netscape browser...right click, of course, is disabled

Hi,
I don't know what browser you are exactly using,
but when using IE5.01 or even NN 4.03 I have no trouble at all looking at the source. OK the page uses frames to display other pages, but this shouldn't bother any one of viewing the HTML content of those pages.
As already stated before, HTML can not be hidden, since it is an essential part of the page. HTML tags are "commands" needed for the browser to read the page and display it appropriately

You can't. The browser needs the HTML to render the page and there is no way to disable the view source item in the menu. And no-right-click scripts are dishonest, show arrogance, and are worthless because a view source item is usually in the Edit menu, which does not need to be right-clicked.

They have scripts that will scramble your code. Just insert your code into the box, hit scramble and copy the scrambled code to your webpage.

When you do a View Source, your code will be jibberish, but the system recognizes the commands.

Only trouble is that you will have to paste the scrambled code back into the decoder in order to work on it again.

Yeah those right click and combined left click are all useless, the only way is to use Flash, even if you cant get view source you can use a bot to get the info.

server-side includes, if the server supports it!

Microsoft Front Page = Source codes!
Netscape Composer = Source codes!

IE V6.0 can still view source codes!

so is it really worth hiding? hm.

Two simple ways are:

1) Use http://www.angelfire.com/geek/esfiles/ to generate your image into java applet. NO Right Click Here :)

2) Use flash to generate design. No More Source Code Here :)

Ever wonder "too easy" is right under your sleeve :)

Ever wonder to pay or not to pay :)

In conclude if you know how to use Microsoft word, then it should be a walk in the park :)

++++Update----

You can't hide anything online!

However, you can make it harder to steal, but, this only work for newbie!

1) At www.swishzone.com you can build flash without knowing flash, very simple, and yes, you can even crack it!

2) Source codes are everywhere, you can hide it, but then there will always be another site out there. "if you are good at it, then why bother to hide!"

3) Even if you put it in css or jsp people can still download the whole thing and open it.

4) If i want to steal a picture, I can use the printscreen command on my keyboard!

So there is nothing to hide alright!

Now email me if you want to make money online :)

It is true: the source becomes very blurry because of the use of xml and styles and such. But still readeble, and still clear enough to get the links to pics or what so ever...

Folks, using server side includes doesn't hide the code. The output to the browser contains everything on the page, including whatever was included. In other words, the file gets included then sent to the browser, so when you view source, you do NOT see the "include" statement -- you DO see the actual file which was included.

Why would you want to hide your source code?

Unless you are claiming something new and want to grab the intellectual rights to it, that is.

The Internet exists because MOST people want to freely disseminate information throughout the world.

That's how we keep the Saddam Hussein's, Hitler's, and George Bush's from ruling the world.

Hiding source code is in the realm of large corporations and governments.

Please- because I am so computer dumb....I saw your post.
Why would you hide your html?
Is it because someone could steal/hack?
Is it because you don't want someone to know the origin of the site or email?
Or is this something else?
I thought that anything you put into a site/email/computer could be retrieved- that it can always be tracked.
Just learning. Thanks

Kinda the way I feel too. Ironically, that encrypted page would likely be served by Apache.
