Foot and Leg pain---Help!

I have had this pain that I thought was/is plantar f------tish (sp?) Now I have this burning just under my knee's and down my legs. I still have the foot pain also. I cannot walk in the morning without it feeling like the bottom of my feet are swollen. My job reqires me to be on my feet all day so the pain is with me all day. Should I try to go to a podiatrist or my GP and or does anyone have any suggestions...Thanks Deb

It sounds as if you have a problem with the nerves leading from your spine down into your legs. Inform your GP and follow his advice. He will probably send you to a neuologist for some testing.

agnespuffin--- Thanks for responding to my problem an I will make an appointment. I had a even worse night last night trying to fall asleep. It did not help that we had terrible thunderstorms and hail to keep me awake...Thanks again

It is ash and ash veneer. I'll go out further on a limb to say it's Asian ash. From the looks of the label, I'll guess it's no older than 25-30 years. It's their interpretation of a Queen Anne style. Casey

Thanks so much for all the Love! Hugs to all! I needed that! I have vein (artery problems) don't know exactly which. LOL. They kept taking out or stripping out something in my leg because of varicose veins. I have and had really bad varicose veins and had them Dr. stripped them??? been so long ago I can't recall what he called it. Anyways, that was pretty good, and then I was riding on my horse and I fell off pretty good. I got hurt and DH got me in the back of truck and helped me in the house. I begged him not to take me to the hospital.(I have had tooo many hospital stays in my life, LOL) So I lay on the couch for around a week was down in my back. I had a portatoliet so I just got up for that. I just hurt. I developed what they call a thrombopheltis (sp) Anyways, it is a clot in the deep veins of your legs. Then I developed phlebitis. They did surgery on my leg, as I had injured the veins in my leg and did not realize it as my back was hurting more. Actually my back is o.k. now. My leg is what is giving me fits. Also I have inherited vein and artery problems anyway. Do not ask me the name of that. LOL But, everything will come out in the wash...LOL! I am doing fine!

There's a very large (140 comments at last check) thread started in 2008 about aches when getting out of bed. I also recently just started aching like an old lady (I'm 54) a few weeks ago. I noticed I had pain in my upper thigh that came and went but started staying longer and longer as time went on. While reading through that long thread I came across some who suggested using MSM. I decided to give it a try. My MSM arrived a few days ago and I immediately took a dose. Within 2 hours, my leg pain was completely gone. Since then I've had maybe 2 slight pains but they haven't lasted. I am able to get out of bed without looking like an old lady hobbling for the bathroom in the morning. It's still early for me to give MSM a raving review, but so far I am VERY happy about it! I figured if it didn't work I'd be out the $23 or so it cost me on Amazon but if it did work I'd be over the moon happy about it. Now I'm hoping to see the improvement in my once strong nails that just continually break off from being brittle and full of ridges. That would be the icing on the cake. No, I don't work for a company that produces MSM, just wanted to share my results and thank those who mentioned it in the old post. Hoping for continued success!

Well I went to the dr and it is good that I did. They say I have diabetes. I had a hard time hearing that at work. Yes they called and told me over the phone. I cried for the last hour or so of work. Now I need the stiff uper lip and get to work on the do's and dont's.

It's wonderful that you have found a reason for your pain so quickly. Too often with diabeties, it's not found early because the person just endures the pain, hoping that it will get better. It doesn't and damage to the circulation is done.

My story is similar to yours. I found out I had diabetes in the same way - but it wasn't the diabetes that was causing the leg & foot pain - at least not according to my neurologist and endocrinologist. From what I understand, diabetic neuropathy doesn't show up for years after you have diabetes and usually only if you have been poor about managing it. What is your HA1C?

I had plantar fasciitis. I had the surgery. For 2 years my foot was worse but it gradually got better. It is still a little weak because I lost some feeling in my foot and I don't get the normal feedback. I also have sciatica which is what has been causing all the pain in my butt and calf.

devorah---I do not know what HA1C is. New to me .I put in a call to the dr today, so waiting to hear from him. I was up half the night with the pain. Thanks for replying...DEb

Keep in mind that it may be more than just diabetes. You could also have some spinal problems that increase the amount of pain. Ask your doctor if he thinks it would be worth while to get some xrays taken.

A vitamin B12 deficiency can also cause pain in the feet and legs.
