Cream cheese brownies w/cocoa powder

I have some cream cheese and Ghirardelli cocoa powder that needs to be used. Anyone have a T&T brownie recipe? All the ones I have call for solid chocolate.

I have not made these yet, but this might work for you...

CREAM CHEESE FUDGE

Ingredients

8 ounces softened cream cheese
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 cups powdered sugar
Directions

Place softened cream cheese in a bowl, add melted butter and vanilla and beat until smooth. Stir in cocoa and powdered sugar. When mixture is ready, it will be smooth, quite thick and evenly colored. Spray an 8 inch square pan with non-stick spray. Press fudge into pan as evenly as possible. Chill several hours to allow it to set up (overnight is preferred). Cut ands serve.

I have a tried and true recipe for them..I've been doing it for years.

Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies
adapted from a bunch of recipes

1/2 c melted or very soft butter
1.5 c sugar
1 t vanilla
1.25 c flour
2/3 c cocoa
1 t baking powder
1 t salt
4 eggs
1/2 c chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips (optional)

Cream Cheese Swirl

16oz cream cheese, softened
1/3 c sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla

In a large mixing bowl, add melted or VERY softened butter. Stir in the sugar and vanilla. Add in one pile on top, flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder; then crack all 4 eggs. Mix all together well with a wooden spoon. Don't beat!

Grease a 9x13 pan with a bit of butter, and spread all but about 1/2 c of batter in the pan.

In the mixer bowl(electric mixer needed) add in the softened cream cheese, and beat until smooth. Add in vanilla and egg. Beat again until smooth.

Spread the cream cheese topping over the brownie batter, but not all the way to the edges. Drop on the remainder of the brownie batter, and cut through the batters with a knife making a swirl pattern.

Bake at 350F for 30-40 minutes. Don't over bake!

What a great idea! It's frozen yogurt but with lots of good fruit in it. The yogurt would give it the body it needs without the fat. I think you could try fat-fee sour cream, too: that might be less tangy than the yogurt. Fat free sour cream, since it's made with skim milk, is thickened with something else, probably carageenan. Any fat-free half and half would also have a substitute thickener.Some thickeners hold up to freezing and some don't. There's a lot of difference between brands in how sour they are: you might have to try a few. I use half fat-free yogurt and half fat-free sour cream for many sauces. I tried making ice milk with plain milk, and it didn't work out. Not enough body. I meant to repeat it using something thicker, but haven't yet. I've been thinking about fat-free evaporated milk; that would have more body to it. Let us know what you try and what works!

It's my understanding that true Nanaimo Bars from British Columbia, Canada use the custard powder, and I've never seen a recipe using cream cheese. However, here's the recipe I received years ago from a Canadian, and it is very, very good. I hope you enjoy it. NANAIMO BARS Named after the city of Nanaimo, British Columbia 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1/3 cup granulated sugar 5 Tablespoons regular cocoa powder 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 egg Combine in two-quart saucepan. Heat and then boil gently for 2 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly. It may look odd, but keep going. 2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/2 cup coconut 1/2 cup chopped nuts Add to above, mixing well. Press firmly into lightly greased 9x13" pan. 1/4 cup margarine, softened 3 Tablespoons milk 2 Tablespoons instant vanilla pudding mix 2 cups confectioner's sugar Combine with mixer in small bowl. Put dollops all around bottom layer, then spread gently until smooth. Chill. 3 one-ounce squares semi-sweet chocolate, or 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 3 Tablespoons margarine Melt together and spread on top of white layer. Chill until firm. Cut into 1" squares. Store in refrigerator, in the back if you must hide them.

Well, I had good intentions, and got started, but ran out of time to meet tonight's deadline. DH and I went out today on a chicken coop tour of East Dallas. (which was lots of fun, but a whole nother topic) Then I had to clean the kitchen in order to cook in it. But, my little grandson (a month away from 3 yrs. old) and I did get started on Nate's carrot cake cookies, but since we didn't finish making the dough until an hour before his bed time, and the dough has to chill at least an hour, it'll be tomorrow before we bake them and do the cream cheese part. It doesn't matter. Both DGS and I had a great time mixing up the batter. He got to taste the flour, the sugar, the butter, and all the other ingredients as they went into the mix. No germaphobes need taste these cookies when they're done! Thanks Nate for the recipe, and the fun time with my grandson! Sally

I've made this recipe many, many times. They are really good. I often add Christmas sprinkles and give them as gifts around the holidays because they cut really nice and work well in those waxed treat bags. Chocolate Chip Brownies (from Taste of Home GrandmaÃ¢ÂÂs Favorites) 1 cup butter, softened 3 cups sugar 6 eggs 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 2 ÃÂ¼ cups all-purpose flour ÃÂ½ cup baking cocoa 1 teaspoon baking powder ÃÂ½ teaspoon salt 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup (6 ounces) vanilla or white chips (I usually don't use any white chocolate chips - I just add more of the semi-sweet chips or use milk chocolate chips if I have them) 1 cup chopped walnuts (I don't add these since we are nut-free but they would be great) In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; stir into creamed mixture just until blended (do not overmix). Pour into two greased 9-in. square baking pans. Sprinkle with chocolate and vanilla chips and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool. Yield 3-4 dozen.

I also do a cream cheese filling. I have used on the brownies if I didn't want as much cream cheese, but I also use it to fill jumbo muffins for my husband.

Cream Cheese Filling

8oz cream cheese, softened
2T flour
1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 t vanilla
