The Terro says not to use in food prep areas. But I had DH put 1 of the leftover Terro traps from last year under the DW b/c that's one place they seem to be coming from now. He moved the range and I vacuumed behind it but there wasn't much there - don't know why they seem to be interested in that area too. Still don't know why they're in FR, but I read they don't like cayenne and I have lots dried pods from last year so I put 1 in each cabinet, 1 under range, 1 in slider track, etc. I told DH after he has breakfast, makes his lunch, etc. in the AM he has to spray and wipe the counter and not leave any crumbs for me to clean up an hour (or more) later after I get DD off to school. I should tell him to empty DW and put dirty dishes in it if I ran it overnight, too - he leaves his in sink and DS leaves his on counter. Though I grab those ASAP and rinse them, put them in sink too, and I haven't seen ants in DS's bowl yet, can't be too careful. I have 1 plant tag with name in each flat, have tongue depressors I can put in each pot if need be. The tall florist stakes with index cards for price sound good, I'll see if I can find any. I went to home depot this morning. The carpet salesman couldn't have been more unhelpful. He said he wasn't sure what a builder's grade carpet meant. He didn't know what the best sellers were, and said there was no way to find out. He said that most people prefer neutral colors when selling a home, but he didn't know which neutrals would be best. So I pretty much spent an hour there and didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. The cheapest carpet I could find there was around $1.65 a square foot. It was a plush. Fiber is 100% polyester, face weight 55.6 and twist is 4.4 It has a rating of 4 feet (HD rating system for foot traffic). Other charges: The padding ranges from .50-$1 a square foot. They have a special on installation right now for whole house for $37. $30 a room to remove furniture, and .15 cent a square ft to take out and haul away old carpet. I looked on craigslist and found a company that claims to beat any price. Here's part of the ad: We buy factory direct & completely back installation. Full service company our price is all inclusive. As raehelen noted - I think there are two different issues that people are perceiving and answering in this post. I think your quote for P&F is reasonable for that line (although there seems to be lots of variation in P&F pricing between dealers / parts of the country / etc) That said, the other question is are there other, just as good cabinet options out there that would be less expensive and I think the answer is yes. It really depends on what you want. If you are set on P&F - your quote is in line. If you are flexible - there will be other more less pricey options that get you the same quality

I am in NC, the RTP area. Two years ago my KD’s usual fabricator offered a few of what they called “stock granites” at about that $35 price point. Fancy edges extra, one sink cutout included. They offered giallo ornamental, maybe uba tuba, and this pale green stone I’d never seen. I loved and went for the pale green, because (1) it was cheaper than the Wilsonart laminate I’d had my designer price, and (2) it was for my laundry room. Here was the catch = for their “stock granites” you did not get to choose a slab, and you did not get to attend templating. In other words, you got what you got. In my case, all the samples and pics I found showed the pale green as a very consistent if unusual stone. It worked out for me. But in my kitchen, I would never have risked it. RTP is a high-growth area and the builders just can’t keep up with demand, so I suspect this stock granite program was designed to cater primarily to builders of apartment units and lower end condos, not your average homeowner here. And I believe the cost was low because most high-end homes here have gone almost exclusively to quartz, not granite. So I think that forced them to get competitive with their granite pricing.
