Off topic - I need some help

I've been dizzy for about 2 weeks now. I've weaned VERY (VERY) slowly off of lexapro (over the course of a month). I don't feel like the room is spinning, or like I'm going to faint. I just feel like my head is throbbing inside, like a wave keeps rushing from ear to ear. I don't have ear pain, though. My eyes feel very tired, as well. Does anyone have ANY idea what this is? I can't go to my Dr. until Monday and I don't want to sit in the ER for 8 hrs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Stef, a friend asked me to do some research about Lexapro withdrawal, and I found entire websites devoted to the subject. Let me go look for one and come back asap with a link. What you describe sounds like the withdrawal symptoms people were talking about.

Look for mention of "brain zaps." This is a very common symptom of Lexapro withdrawal.

I'll link the other site below. It's an interesting site. I see they have a grief component, but I haven't visited it. Somewhere in the archives is a l-o-n-g thread about Lexapro withdrawal symptoms. Maybe it'll come up if you do a search on the site.

Well, it's Feb. now and I don't know how good of a memory you have, but if this happened before Christmas, maybe you accidentally wrapped them into someone's present? Maybe call a few people up and ask if they got a surprise ring in their gift? I lost my wedding ring to, but it was about 10 months ago. The sad thing was, it was on my honeymoon :( We didn't take our honeymoon until a month after the wedding, so I did have it for the first month of our marriage, but we went to swing in the lake and took our rings off and wrapped them in our towels. My hubby grabbed his from the towel and didn't realize I hadn't grabbed mine yet and he shook them out before we used them. Next thing you know, we had us and 2 park rangers trying to find them! They even went around asking if anyone had a metal detector. I felt so bad. I've called the park back about once a month since and still no show. I've finally given up on it so hubby is going to buy me another one. I told him to make it super cheap because I do have a tendency to loose stuff. I never wear jewelry so I asked if he'd at least make it cheap until I can prove to both of us I won't loose it so quickly!

koikris: A melon vine that is only 3 feet long is just a baby, and probably has only male blossoms at this point. Are you trying, by any chance, to grow this melon out of a container? Heaven help us. At some point, I know not when, since you don't give any indication of where you live, when you planted the melon, or the circumstances of its planting, your melon vine should begin to produce some female blossoms, which will be larger than the males and should show little melons very soon after they form. However, if you live in a northerly area and don't have female blossoms at this point, or are (shudder) trying to grow melons out of a container, you may not actually see any melons this season since they may not have time to mature. When you start a post, you have an option (a box to click on) to ask that you be emailed anytime someone responds. If you did not do this at the time you first wrote the post, I don't think there's a way to change it. In the meanwhile, searching for your name to find posts (as you've been doing) is the only way to go (you can put all forums "entire site" in your search by clicking on that button). Dave, bait a trap with pecans, these guys will eat even the ones we'd put in the discard pile. Raccoons will do almost anything for a nice pecan, including come right up and take them out of your hand if you give it a little time. I have a couple of them on my property but they never bother my garbage cans because I don't put food waste in it until the actual day of pick up. I freeze all meat scraps, bones etc, and the big bonus is that my garbage men love me, lol, my garbage never stinks.

Stef, I have a friend that experienced the same thing. I think sometimes even if you wean very slowly, you still have some residue of the drug in your body. Not sure, just guessing and from what my friend told me. If you have a small amount of the drug on hand, it may be a good idea to take it until you can see your doc on Monday. I know it can make you feel pretty bad. Don't drive feeling like this.

StefCo NJ - Just wondering how you are feeling now? it has been about 7 months since you were experiencing this. I am wondering over this time how long it took for the medication to completely leave your system.

Thanks for asking about me! I was surprised to see this post pulled back to the top - it's been so long. I'm fine, actually! Those symptoms finally went away. I'd say it took about a good 2 months to leave my system. It was a pain in the neck, but it finally went away!

I had a feeling when I read your symptoms that it was from withdrawing too fast. I had probs with Paxil.. I had to slowly ween myself off took me several months. I was experiencing electrical zapping and charges in my arms and neck.. did not like it at all.. so terribly scary.. After all that, the doctors made me go back on it again.... what a drag. I still wonder if I really need it or not.

So, I beware now that there must be other meds out there that have withdrawal symptoms that we all should consider.

i am glad to hear that you are feeling fine! I had hoped that they had worked their way out of your system and you felt good again.
