cracks in granite floor tiles - is this normal?

I just had 16x16 Tan Brown granite floor tiles installed in a small 2-pce washroom that is 4'x5'. Due to the small size, we only needed 12 tiles.

The installer came in on day 1 to install the wire mesh and concrete/scratch coat. On day 2 he installed the tiles with glue underneath.

On day 3 just before he came to grout the tiles, I noticed cracks in several tiles. I mentioned this to him and he said that this is normal with granite. My big worry is what happens if the cracks get bigger over time? He said that they won't because the floor is solid underneath and not to worry. He then finished grouting and that was it. I paid him because I felt that I had no other alternative - what was I going to do - have him rip it all out? (we just removed ceramic floor tiles and had a huge mess)

Is this normal? He said that tan brown tiles have those lighter spots and that is what makes them weaker and susceptible to cracking. Will the cracks get worse?

TIA
