Ok, so here is the deal after talking to the people at stainless-sink.com.........several times.....they were pleasant to talk to but they wanted pictures to confirm my claim that the sink was in fact about 19 gauge (between .98-1.03mm) and NOT 15 (1.8mm)which is a difference of almost half as thick. . I sent the sink back, and was given a full refund. However, My call tag that they issued for the return was more than 10 pounds underweight, I was told that they should take it and if there was a difference ups would bill them for it, but my local ups store would not take it. Luckily my ups driver did take it, but this could have been a huge hassle since they did not seem willing to issue a new tag with the correct weight. long story short, I got my refund. My final impression of Stainless-sink.com and the "15" gauge sinks is that I don't think that they are trying to scam anyone. I think no one ever took the time to break out their micrometer and verify the thickness of the material. I ended up buying a sink from another ebay retailer who just happens to be close to my home. They have the exact same sink, marketed as 15 gauge, but after going there to measure it found it to be the same 19-20gauge thickness. The sink that I ended up purchasing a different sink that is 16 gauge but was also advertised as 15 gauge. NONE of these "15" gauge sinks are truly that thick. The old saying "you get what you pay for" seems to hold true here. I ended up paying 375 for a (ebay #390325693007)........however I opened several boxes of various models before I chose this one, and they were almost all the thinner material (19-20 gauge)........ I still don't think that they are a bad deal for the price, they just are not nearly as thick, or nearly as great of a deal as they are advertised to be. as for the rusting issue-I'm still finishing my kitchen but cannot comment, I did decide to go with a 1" radius sink instead of a zero radius because I figured it would be too difficult to clean and also would make it easier for water to sit in the corner and if there was a rusting problem, that is probably where it would be. I bought from "contempo living" in el monte, Ca has been in business now for about 10 years and said they haven't had any issues with that............. Time shall tell.

@modern_mom35 Yes, this thread is 8 years old, but I found it searching for Torquay and dark cabinets, as that is what I plan to put in my kitchen. (I don't like painted wood and while white cabinets are lovely, my kids don't mix well with white!) I am also drawn to blue in a backsplash but am somewhat hampered by the '90s off white (slightly warm) 12"x12" tile that is in my kitchen as it is most of my first floor and out-of-budget to replace it. I was thrown into the remodel due to a burst pipe, with a large section of my kitchen already demo'd due to having to fix the pipe, so I don't want to take months to decide or wait to find the "perfect" deal or for backordered items. At the same time, I don't want to hate it when it's done. I am loving your toaster pullout and trying to see exactly what you did with the microwave. I'm wishing I had an exposed end to do shelves (saw it in another kitchen and loved the look) but the kitchen is built into an L with walls cutting it off, so nothing open ended for me. I don't have the budget to gut everything but I do mostly like my layout. I was thinking my kitchen might be too dark with a backsplash like that, but yours shows it might work, although you have windows spread throughout and mine only has windows in the breakfast nook, and I'd punch another window in the wall, but it's the north side that just shows my neighbors house far too close, not really a view I want, even with more light. I think installing proper lighting will really help, as it almost has none since we took out the old large soffit fluorescent main light due to having to move the large built-in due to water damage (which I hated anyway). Trying to figure out the layout before we start punching holes in the ceiling! Thanks for the links of what you purchased. The online photos make the backsplash look much lighter than your kitchen photos which is good to keep in mind when I'm looking online. I am curious if 8 years later there is anything you would change? This was truly a stunning remodel.

Paula: I recall that "O" ban, too! I guess when this site wanted advertising, that was the end of that! To posters who've ordered furniture--couches and stuff like that--had you first seen the items at a store and then spotted them on the site? Kind of scares me when it comes to a couch, even an accent chair I was looking at a while ago. The likely return shipping charge put an end to that. I have purchased a glass-toppped buffet through eBay; it nearly did me in worrying about the delivery and if it was as nice as I thought it was (and whether it was actually the size the dealer advertised, since it was going into an alcove, and whether it would come in one piece). SeniorGal: Even tho you'd probably be more likely to put more stock in the folks here that you have communicated with over time, you might also want to do a web search for the phrase "Overstock complaints problems"--just for some other views. But take all views for what they're worth! Also, if you've received UPS packages before, are you familiar with some of the drivers? In my neighborhood, some of them come around with more regularity, so I recognize the faces. If that's the case with you, you might ask if your driver could bring the item to your floor, and tip him/her with cookies or something (I'm sure that wouldn't violate their rules!). I'd think a storage ottoman wouldn't be too hard for someone to schlep up stairs, if the delivery driver was open to it, versus a mattress!

You could use some of that eyelet fabric over the mirrors on the 2 center quadrants from top to bottom and let the far left and far right mirrors unveiled. They make something called ticky tack, that teachers use to hold posters and things on walls(no nails). I wonder if that wouldn't work on your favorite eyelet pattern?, and not damage the wood/fabric/mirrors? A friend took pieces of an old heirloom lace piece and did that in her miniature curio cabinet she inherited over the back mirror lined surface.. She now uses the cabinet to hold all of her essential oil(many mini bottles)collection. If you like the country style dishware, the eyelet in the tea color(or you can tea stain some yourself) might look very pretty inside the darkwood and contrast with your white dishes? And tone down the shiny of the mirror?
