vi2vi3, the color is Document Saddle which is a Class II treated leather. I think it's similar to a cognac or chestnut color. Duane, aaaack! I'm not the best person to answer your question. Those took a lot of trial & error before I got them posted. I did download the pics to photobucket first. I copied & pasted the html link, but that didn't work for me. There was extra info at the beginning of the code I didn't need so all I saw was the blue question mark in the little box when I first tried to post the pictures. I had to delete the first part to where it begins with I tried to follow the directions in this link as best I could. There are other threads on this as well. I just searched all forums for "posting a picture." Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable about it and can't explain it very well. I'd recommend printing this direction thread. I kept going back and forth between tabs and it was difficult for me to keep up with the info. My personel experience with 2 different N.C. stores produced similar results but required different efforts on my part. First, a less pleasant experience with Furnitureland South required many phone calls and attempts by them to repair an armorie that had poorly mounted door hinges (the doors would not stay fully open since the hinges were not plumb). This was a frustrating experience since they sent 2 different repair crews from N.C. to northern Va. (actually delivery personnel who stopped by on their route) who were less than knowledgeable about any repairs beyond fixing scratches. Finally afer many exhausting telephone exchanges, Furnitureland South replaced the unit with a new one. The brand was Lexington (manufactured offshore) and we would not recommend this brand to anyone because of the poor quality control. The second experience was with Boyles, with the assistance of Terra in customer service and the help of Larry Hendricks (the owner). They were very helpfull in working a problem of settling down-fill in a H&M Austin sofa and chair, (these are the straightback versions, not the bustle-back style). As an aside we love these pieces, and the down-fill is luxurious, but problematic so we would recommend their foam cores rather than the down cores. Boyles ordered replacement cores for the backs and seats (a total of 8 cores) and sent a delivery crew to replace them. The crew was unable to remove the existing cores (sewn in place). Boyles then scheduled a pickup of the units by their movers and took the units back to H&M in Hickory N.C. for new cores to be factory installed. During this time we also spoke with the H&M factory reps. directly since these was amazement at H&M that the cores were not removable in the seatbacks. All in all this was a good experience and Boyles and H&M treated us fairly and timly. In both cases there was no charge for any of the work or visits/deliveries etc. One additional note, we were interested in purchasing an ottoman for the H&M sofa and worked with Duane, the owner on The Keeping Room, a small high quality store in Alexandria, Va. The key was to find a match to the leather after 4 years of ownership. He procurred a sample from H&M that was not a great match, and then coordinated an attempt to match the leather when the sofa and chair were at H&M for the core replacements. He was very helpfull and personally involved with his contacts at the factory. While ultimately we were unsuccessful with the match, we have since become customers of The Keeping Room because of his excellant service level. So, while we have used Furnitureland South and Boyles in N.C. and have had very good service from Boyles (even after 4 year from the original purchase date) we ultimately made our most recent purchase of a Leathercraft desk chair at a competitive price from The Keeping Room (about an hour away). UPDATE for BasketballMom..... SORRY I was incorrect on which sofa I sat on. I stated I sat on the Evening but it was the September sofa. Today we went back to Lexington Furniture for more research and help from the salesperson with which we're doing business. I like the looks of the Evening and a few others a little better than the Austin we are also considering. The Evening may work for us but we definitely need to consider the cushion type. When we sat in it we DID NOT lean way back (as we did in the September). However the cushions are Ultra Down/seat and back---they sit firmer. We're ordering anyway so we have a lot of options. H & M will make this sofa with their standard foam seat cushions along with Ultra Down back cushions if we wish. Whatever our choice, I feel we should keep seat and back cushions the same (all standard seat & back or all Ultra Down seat & back). Our salesperson and one of the owners really gave us a good education---we all learned something from fooling around with cushions today. Whether going with standard or down, all seating will "break in" and be more comfortable after some use. Try to find where you can sit in both types to see the difference. Standard cushions are more bouncy in a good way. In a furniture showroom some seating isn't as firm as when it first comes in due to being sat in and tried out. On three cushion sofas try sitting on the middle cushion and see the difference as to the side cushions---most people sit on a side cushion when trying out furniture. Lord the list goes on, doesn't it? I know exactly what I'm looking for so I will be traveling to Louisville and maybe Cincinnati to hopefully sit in an Evening with standard cushions or an Austin without the bustle back. I will be very clear, when approached by a salesperson, that I'm just looking. Good luck and let me know how your search goes.

See what I mean? Notice no actual response to my comment, just a self-serving advertisement. How is that good customer service? It's completely dismissive of anything in the post to which is is supposedly "responding", and is nothing more than an attempt to protect itself. That is NOT "excellent customer service." It's the opposite, in fact. FYI: Listing brands you sell is irrelevant. You are the selling agent. That you sell Hickory Chair, a very good product, has nothing to do with whether you misrepresent products or are rude to customers or give them incorrect information (or are unaware, i.e.: NOT "knowledgeable salespeople"). For instance, CR Laine itself told me the Hamilton Cushion, recommended by your salesperson (and, by coincidence I'm sure, the most expensive cushion) was absolutely not the correct cushion for someone saying they want a firm and resilient cushion. So that was either lack of knowledge on your salesperson's part or misleading on her part to sell the more expensive cushion. And based on what I can see and feel of that cushion, I don't think it even is a spring down as I feel no evidence of any springs inside of it. I can practically squish the whole thing together with my hands! I was also told I should make sure of what I want (isn't that up to HER?) because once I got the sofa, I had no recourse if there were problems. But according to CR Laine, this is not true, that I can "file a claim". When I called to do so, I was literally chuckled at, interrupted, and hung up on. As I said, Hickory Park takes NO responsibility for misrepresenting or misinformation (neither does CR Laine, btw, who admitted the sofa is not at all represented by their official photo of it), dismisses customers with complaints or legitimate issues...by laughing at them, hanging up on them, and responding on Web sites by not directly responding to the issues but rather putting up an advertisement and simply saying they're wonderful. They're not. I've read other reviews (after I wrote mine) complaining of rude customer service as well, so I am not alone. Not taking responsibility for one's own mistakes is the epitome of bad business and behavior. But to do so AND allow the one party not at all responsible to take the hit, while YOU keep their money, is obscene. If this harsh criticism costs you even ONE customer, then maybe you'll realize that chuckling at customers who have called in good faith and have legitimate issues, and not taking responsibility for your own and the manufacturer's (for whom you are the representing sales agent) misrepresentations and problems, wasn't worth refunding a customer $1700, or even $1500 for the sofa w/o the shipping fee, and then writing the sofa off on your tax returns as a business loss.
