know of companies that produce small sectionals?
Comments (26)Elenal here: I found a small leather sectional that met our needs in re style, quality, and size. It is by Custom Leather (a smallish company based in Arizona, but with a store here in Colorado). The sectional was custom sized to fit our room. I was looking for something with very simple lines (since the space is so small), so it wouldn't work in a French country setting. But they did have a few styles with more of a traditional styling. Leather quality is quite fine; I wouldn't say of the H&M level, but it was adequate for our needs and size (and, to a lesser extent, style) had to dominate our decision. Cost was 3900 for an 85 x 85" leather sectional. I saw one that was just a few inches longer on each end by American Leather (also with clean lines, not ultra comtemporary, but definitely with a squared off look) that was very nice at Crate and Barrel. But those few inches extra ruled it out for our very small room. I'm glad others have weighed in with some other brands to look at. Good luck. BTW, I saw on-line that Restoration Hardware is now stocking some smaller-sized sectionals in traditional looks--expensive, but quite nice looking, IMHO....See MoreMiddle to high-end upholstery
Comments (62)unless you're willing to spend $4,000 and above it's very hard to get a really nice piece. most are not made well and it won't last. This is what I do I'm a designer an objective of mine is to find a used sofa buy a good manufacturer hand tied made in USA. Then I pick a fabric and have it reupholstered this way you will have a really good sofa for a long long time. Every piece of furniture I have has been reupholstered. I know this pretty gross to some people but I'm telling you it's very much worth your while. Also many manufacturers do not have good fabrics and by the time you pick the fabric you like it's going to cost you another thousand dollars or more. and their selection is pretty sparse. I bought my Fabrics online from anatol's Fabrics in Ohio online. They send you samples and you get the upholsterer to give you an estimate on how much you need....See MoreList of recommended furniture brands in all price ranges
Comments (58)I know this thread is really old, but can anyone comment on Franklin Furniture? Made in Houston, MS. We just purchased a sectional sofa from them with power recliners, lights, and massage/vibrating chairs. It will be delivered in 9 days and we have 30 days to return it for a refund. I'm usually a big researcher and am kind of freaking out now because I didn't do my homework and know nothing about Franklin. The salesman assured us it was a good quality, in line with Lazy Boy - but really, what is he going to say? This stuff is junk?? Can anyone put my mind at ease?...See MoreTrying to buy sofa made in America
Comments (11)Your biggest challenge is finding US made fabric. There are only 2 mills left in the US. I would estimate that 90% of all fabrics are now made overseas or Canada. It would take some REAL research to find the particular vendor of manufacturer's fabric sources, but a savvy salesperson or store mgr should be willing to find out to get your business. BUT, I bet it would be safe to say that all springs & a few minor other components are foreign made, so even if you found an upholstery builder, I would bet the farm that the springs will be imported. Ethan Allen, Stickley & Bassett still have SOME styles made in the USA. Bassett's is their Custom Collection. I can't swear to EA's or Stickley's, but again, a good salesperson will be honest with you about the USA vs overseas models. BTW, almost every commercially produced casegood out there is foreign made, to one extent or another. ~Jeana...See Morexamsx
