Does anyone have a picture of Mirage - color is cognac. We are trying to decide between oak and maple- Its a large house with a lot of floor- Pro's of Oak- less likely to see marks-- Pro's of Maple- less grainy If you have pics i would appreciate it-

It looks more like slate to me than marble, alternating polished & matte finish pieces. But, I'm sure you can find something very close in a porcelain tile.

Thanks for all the compliments. You see your own home differently so it's nice to be affirmed. (Also DH has been cursing it so much lately I was beginning to think he was right about it's hopelessness!) Polkadots, thanks for your input and link. I loved the pictures - exactly the idea I was after. The problem is that the floor we were trying to match is original hardwood from the 1940's. We had a few flooring professionals over who said they don't make the stuff any longer (it was 2" wide and 1/2" thick tongue and groove). They also don't keep salvaged floors like ours locally, they just dispose of them. We are trying to keep costs down for now and want to eventually replace the wood floors throughout the house, as there are some damaged places elsewhere that we are hiding with rugs. But we are hoping for a $500 fix, rather than a $5000 fix, especially after our kitchen remodel and with the economy so uncertain. The other problem is that we have a height variance from the dining room addition to the living room. The former owners built over the old front porch and didn't re-grade the terrain. We have a small slope going towards the front that makes it tough. We also just laid new 6" floor tiles in the foyer and are trying to match up the heights of the flooring to the foyer/living/dining/kitchen so we don't trip in our own home. So many darn considerations in a remodel, huh? Anyway, I am thinking now to return the natural toned floor we had planned for the middle and just do all gunstock (darker color) in the dining area. We will still do a picture frame with mitered corners so it looks custom and deliberate. I'm just second-guessing 3 tones of wood (2 new ones and the existing) in the same 23 X 25 foot room.

Does anyone have a picture of any room in thier house with Mirage Classic- Exclusive Cognac- Semi Gloss either Maple or Red Oak? We are torn between the oak and maple and would like to see more than the 1 piece our vendor showed us. Please if you have pics- post them here. Thank you !
