Had a nice dinner party

It's nice when everything works well.

For appetizers, we had some veggies with peppercorn ranch dressing as dip, some cheese and crackers (apple smoked mozzarella and jarlsburg), mixed nuts, and salami and sliced english cucumbers, and one of the guests brought and assortment of fruits.

I made an oven roasted turkey breast which I had brined with cranberry juice and fresh thyme and OJ. Served it au jus with onions that were roasted in the pan with the turkey (a variation of Pierre Freney's version). Rachel Ray's bourbon pecan smashed sweet potatoes. A cauliflower casserole that was mixed with sauteed onions and celery and flavored with poultry seasoning to make a lo carb "stuffing" side. Cranberry-orange chutney. Tossed salad with romaine and baby greens and pierrey freney's dijon vinaigrette. Guest brought coconut custard pie for dessert.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, me included!

I'll keep track of that menu as it worked so well...certainly can do a rerun for another bunch of guests!
