These worked great for the kitchen of a church renovation we did. If we used some special technique to put them down, I wasn't aware of it. They were super easy, and looked quite nice. Now it's been a few years, and there hasn't been any issues with the tiles peeling, or anything like that.

Ours went down over concrete, though... vinyl seems like it would be harder to make stuff stick to. I'd definitely do a spot test and see how that holds up, but you were probably going to do that anyway! Good luck on your project.

The key is that your present vinyl will allow them to adhere. A tremendous cleaning with a no wax cleaner will do a lot. A professional would actually rough up the vinyl with sandpaper to assure proper adhesion. if your vinyl has any kind of an easy clean wear layer or a wax or detergent residue on it, that is what causes the new sticks not to adhere. good Luck

I've done a ton of peel & stick tiles and always used this technique.

At a flooring store, ask for a gallon (or so) of what is referred to as "thin spread." It's a milky-looking adhesive. Snap the guide lines on your floor and then, using a flat trowel, coat an area with a film of the adhesive. Use as little as possible with no gobs or thick lines. Let it dry or use a fan to help it. When dry, it'll be clear. CAREFULLY set your first tile. I say this as, it's kinda like putting two pieces of duct tape together. You don't want to have to try to "adjust" the tile after down.

Trust this; those tiles will NEVER pull loose. I've done this over concrete, sheet good and plywood. Easier than it sounds.

This part of the country doesent know what thin spread is..I believe you may possibly mean vct adhesive?

A generic term, for sure for vct glue. Been years since I did vinyl and am not familiar with brand names anymore. Everything I used went on "milky" and dried "clear."
