I was just there last week and they were about to have a HUGE sale on all their out of flower orchids..I think it is happening now..They had quite a few set up on one table..You better hit that place as soon as today..lol $2 ? That is a much better deal than mine..You are so lucky to live close to that place..You should see their "corpse plant" there.. Nick..They must still look awsome..I tell you..The ones in my yard at my house in the Tropics grow the nicest and biggest, some fragrant flower you could ever see while the leaves look like garbage..lol. I am curious about how the actual flow rate was measured. Typically, a door opening is utilized as an instrumented flow path. At the door, one could measure by the pressure drop through a calibrated venturi, but in that case there would be a pressure drop and not only would that cut the actual flow rate of the hood, but there would be some house leakage not measured. Alternatively, if there were also a fan in the path keeping the house pressure at zero to the outside, while also measuring the flow through the fan (by whatever means), then the flow rate measured should be the static value for the entire hood system. Of course, without the test fan providing zero differential, the actual flow will be less depending on where the MUA is sourced. No magic is involved. kas Correction: In an early message above, I asserted: "A fan at the hood can more easily overcome flow resistance between the hood and the outdoors, but normally this resistance is small, a few tenths of an inch w.g., so attic and roof mount fans work fine when properly sized." I now doubt that it matters much whether the restriction is before or after the fan, as most fans have fan curves that are based on total pressure drop around the path and do not differentiate between pushing and pulling. Differences could result from turbulence interacting with structures on one side or the other of the fan, and in such cases the actual flow might differ slightly for the same fan. I don't know how VAH squirrel-cage blowers might behave in this respect.

Kevin- Speaking of rugs....have you heard the latest TV commercials for The Dump? Yesterday (4/10) while preparing dinner the commercial announced that "The Dump is going out of the Oriental rug business." Prices will be up to 85% off this weekend only. I checked their web site, clicked on the Langhorne store and the same AD ran. I don't know if this is akin to the all the Oriental rug stores that are forever going out of business but I thought I'd pass it along in case you were still looking for rugs.

Take a deep breath and keep karma on your side in your dealings. My last double transaction were my acquaintances buying my neighbors' home with a VA loan and the neighbors downsizing to a condo with cash from the sale - to close on the same day. Appraisals, garage sales, flood insurance, extra VA paperwork, inspections - setbacks at every single turn for a 25-day closing - it was the most stressful, hand-wringing, tears & anguish sale I've ever had to endure (long story). But I worked my butt off and it all worked out - I can safely say that I earned every penny. Keep packing & cleaning - be positive that it will all work out. (And make sure they will take a cashier's check - all the title companies here will only take wire transfers due to the fraud now - and they take longer - that was the reason for two days of the frantic driving all over town to various credit unions and clearing just in time.)
