Heatnglo gas fireplace with Heat Zone Gas

We are interested in putting in this system. The heat will be dumped into the duct system for the room so it is more evenly distributed.

Currently, we heat our great room (30x3O with 9 ft ceiling) with a gas fireplace with a blower fan. We are in Seattle, so this is more than enough heat to meet the demand. However, there are cold spots, and we would prefert to have more evenly distributed heating in the room. The fireplace we have is almost 20 years old and has limped along with issues that we have managed to make do.... It needs to be replaced.

Has anyone used such a system?

Any other companies make a similar system?

What is the additional cost to the fireplace?

Sounds like a builder selected fp. I have the same situation. Its only rated as 57% efficient. I installed a gas stove for my basement and couldn't be more pleased with the warmed it provides. Anyway, I realize stoves don't suite everyones taste. I would shop for a higher efficiency fp. I'm sure if you do some searches on this site you'll find some helpful recommendations. You can have one custom cut for you. Look for a company dealing in ”sheet metal”. Also, did you buy the insert locally? Regardless, check with those dealers. They use locally cut sheet metal for custom surrounds when needed.
