Cork Plank Gaps?

We have new construction with radiant floor heat throughout. We have about 3500 ft2 of cork plank. The upstairs was installed by professional flooring people. The downstairs was installed by our GC's laborers, because the flooring people got too busy to finish. We have been in the house since December 1. We've had some pretty cold weather and the heat has done a great job keeping the house warm. Our problem is that we have developed random gaps between cork planks. The gaps vary in size from 1/8 to almost 1/2 inch. SOme of the gaps are on the vertical seems and some on the horizontal. There does not appear to be any pattern to the gaps except that there are NONE upstairs, where the professionals did the install. It has been suggested that the heat is running too hot and has caused the cork to shrink. The floor does get warm and the temp was measured under our one rug at about 88 degrees. The rest of the floor is usually around 80 degrees. The GC's laborers did glue the click and lock planks together. If this is a heat issue why hasn't the upstairs separated? We will be fixing the problem, but we would like to not see the issue recur.

Any one have any idea why this happened?
