I only made it once, years ago, which tells me I probably didn't love it but then again I find most of their recipes good so I'd give it another shot to be sure. Makes 2 cups. If you would like to double the recipe, use a Dutch oven to give the vegetables ample space for browning and increase the cooking times by roughly 50 percent. The finished gravy can be frozen. To thaw either a single or double recipe, place the gravy and 1 tablespoon of water in a saucepan over low heat and bring slowly to a simmer. The gravy may appear broken or curdled as it thaws, but a vigorous whisking will recombine it. Ingredients 1 small carrot , peeled and chopped into rough 1/2-inch pieces (about 1/2 cup) 1 small rib celery , chopped into rough 1/2-inch pieces (about 1/2 cup) 1 small onion , chopped into rough 1/2-inch pieces (about 3/4 cup) 3 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth 2 cups low-sodium beef broth 1 bay leaf 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme 5 whole black peppercorns Instructions 1. In food processor, pulse carrot until broken into rough 1/4-inch pieces, about five 1-second pulses. Add celery and onion; pulse until all vegetables are broken into 1/8-inch pieces, about five 1-second pulses. 2. Heat butter in large heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium-high heat; when foaming subsides, add vegetables and cook, stirring frequently, until softened and well browned, about 7 minutes. Reduce heat to medium; stir in flour and cook, stirring constantly, until thoroughly browned and fragrant, about 5 minutes. Whisking constantly, gradually add broths; bring to boil, skimming off any foam that forms on surface. Reduce heat to medium-low and add bay leaf, thyme, and peppercorns; simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened and reduced to 3 cups, 20 to 25 minutes. 3. Strain gravy through fine-mesh strainer into clean saucepan, pressing on solids to extract as much liquid as possible; discard solids. Adjust seasonings with salt and pepper. Serve hot.

here ya go....those formatting problems with the fractions are really beyond annoying! Apple Cake 4 cups chopped apples 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup raisins ( I use chopped other fruit like dried peaches or apricots) Mix and let sit for about an hour ( less is OK) 2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsps baking soda ( I like 3/4 tsps soda and 3/4 tsps BP) 3/4 tsps salt 1T cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg Mix dry ingredients 2 eggs 3/4 cups veggie oil 1 tsp vanilla beat together 1 cup chopped pecans if desired. Add the oil and eggs to the apples and sugar and dried fruit. Stir in the dry mixture and add nuts if desires. Pour into greased 9 by 13 pan and bake 350 until done�..40 to 50 minutes. Serve with cake gravy! Cake Gravy Mix 1 cup sugar ..half brown half white 1 stick butter 1/2 cup light cream 1 tsp vanilla�. Mix all and cook all in a sauce pan for about 5 or 6 minutes until caramel colored. Serve warm over the cake.

the FDA currently doesn't regulate pet foods, so your right... But they really should, I mean if you market garage as food its undeneyable it isnt just animals that will eat it. Also though your daughter was fine this time , it isn't good people around the world eat garage and I'm sure they live as lest as long as some buddy from the stone age.(If they are deneyed access to health care and better food) But here in america we don't have too. we have the power to change our own safety and the safety of our pets. we have the power, even people who have no money at all for food can learn about wild plants in nature and eat those sadly unless people start eating cats and dogs here in america like chicken,beef,pork,ect its not going to be regulated whatsoever by the government. but the people as a whole are stronger then our government, if people enough of them stand up and say no then it WILL change.

This is my T&T recipe! Chocolate Gravy 1 cup granulated sugar 1 tablespoon butter 1 1/2 cups milk 2 tablespoons flour 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder Mix all the dry ingredients in a heavy saucepan with a whisk. Using a whisk blends everything better than a spoon. Stir in the milk. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove the pot when the mixture is thick like pudding. Add the butter. Stir in until completely melted. Serve over biscuits.
