The beast answer found but I feel I have seen multiple Pics vs multiple links as I have used from Photobucket. Now the question is were those Pics merged into one and posted. They did not appear to be as I can merge in Word and my email. I'll find one of the post in question and ask the person that sent the post. For now I understand!! Attaching a photograph: This forum supports the ability to attach one single photograph per post. The photograph must be 60K or smaller (which can be rather small unless it is a close up). You can also provide pictures by using a photohosting site like Photobucket, Flikr, Picasa, ImageShack, Webshots, Shutterfly, SmugMug, Snapfish, etc. These sites usually let you create a free account and upload full sized pictures. Once your photo (or photos) is uploaded, you will be given a link to share your pictures with others. Copy that link and paste it in the body of your message. You can have multiple links if you have multiple pictures. If you want to attach a picture here (60K or smaller), first compose your message and then select "preview message". On the next screen you will see a preview of your message and a box that says Image file to upload (optional): Choose the "browse" button to find the picture on your computer (or thumb drive). Select it and attach it. Preview your message once more and then select "submit". If you need to attach another picture, you will need to create a new post. If you want to practice, find the "Test" forum in the list of all forums.

I'm doing several colors of wood. It is the nature of the material that it won't ever be matchy/matchy anyway. I don't have any pics up and am so busy I probably won't for a while, but the long and short is that: >my v-groove pine ceilings have a very thin coat of white glaze. These are the very high ceilings in the living room and adjoining /office loft. Looks like new sawn pine, was a one coat application, very important since I did it myself. >kitchen and dining ceilings are beadboard pine, stained a caramel color. Same will be used on the pine interior doors. >Windows have been done with Watco Oil. It is easily renewable without stripping, and gives a very deep hand rubbed look. >was going to use Watco on the trim boards, but due to the number of coats needed, I think I'll use a similar color minwax stain with a satin urethane topcoat. Same color is on the ceiling beams, and will be used on the door casings as well. I personally feel that the colors need to relate, but be very clearly different from one another so they clearly represent a design feature, not an oversight.

Dumaspup...yeah, good point. We've accumulated quite an impressive amount of old nails, hinges, bolts, etc. from the boards. Any wood that we cannot remove all of the metal goes in the trash pile. We had a huge red oak tree cut and were unable to use a sizeable portion of the lower log because there was evidence of metal within the wood. We'll be mixing a lot of wood in the house that came from the site...cherry, the red oak, black walnut and a little Virginia red cedar, so the look of the old wood from the barn will just be another layer to our collage! DH is now thinking of using it for paneling in our home office. I've thought about using it for a vanity in a bathroom or two. I just don't want creepy crawlies hatching out of it once we install it inside the house.

I'm going to have to say fir. Based on the first pic I could have also gone with white pine, but the pic with it stained is the giveaway. I wouldn't recommend staining it without conditioner or sealer, or its going to look more or less like the last pic, IOW awful. IMO. Unless you like the zebra look. Casey
