I purchased a Rowe sofa (Townsend) in October 2011. It arrived in December 2011 with fabric bunching on the sides of the track arms and the seat cushions as well. I fortunately purchased from a small "mom and pop" retailer, so customer service on their end has been exceptional. I wish I could say the same of Rowe. Because of the extent of the poor craftsmanship, the retailer decided that a new sofa should be ordered for me...with instructions that a senior upholsterer must oversee the work. The second sofa arrived in July 2012, along with 2 seat cushions that looked like a dog had pawed the fabric. New seat casings were ordered, but did not arrive until November 2012. Sad to say, the stitching on these was just as bad as the original sofa. The fabric bunches. Townsend is simple construction because of it's linear lines. If they can't get something like this right, what will they do with something a bit more complex?!? As for me, I'm cuurently stuck with a sofa that looks lousy. However, the retailer has been wornderful and is helping me to get something from another manufacturer. Steer clear of Rowe. Their quality control is obviously poor.

We purchased a Clayton Marcus sectional last year after alot of research about brands, workmanship, quality and price point. We absolutely love it. We ordered it through Lauter's Fine Furniture in PA because they gave us the best price. We had the style and fabric picked out but decided to go with Lauter's because they beat any of our "local" furniture stores prices by a mile and offered service after the sale. Because we were within their 100 mile delivery radius (we're in Dutchess County NY) the delivery was free. Clayton Marcus is still constructed in the USA using 8-way hand-tied spring base construction. We had a certain price that we could afford and I had a specific style and measurement in mind, which is why we chose Clayton Marcus. Our sectional is pictured in the link below. I'm well aware the cost to reupholster can be as expensive as buying new. But I want my sofa to be as green as possible (natural rubber latex cushions), and I think reupholstering old, well-made frames will be less expensive than buying a new sofa from Viesso, Ekla or Cisco, which all offer natural latex cushions for a significant upcharge. Those brands also don't make a lot of sleeper sofas. Buying two new sofas from Viesso, for instance, would run at least $10,000. No thanks.

Looks so inviting, I love the colors. For me it would depend on the light. If you get enough light the roman shades are pretty. For my living room, which is similar in size to yours, I use blinds with slats only because the room is rather dark and so I try to get as much sunlight as possible into it. I think the creamy would work nicely and would blend in with the wall instead of standing out and won't complete with the sofa and rug. What you are describing sounds like it would work, especially the subtle pattern and it sounds like any of those colors would work. I also like the look of bamboo shades. Your room looks so cozy and cheerful, love it.
