Thanks for the comments...their furniture is so beautiful and so is the chest you've picked out judielynn. I went into the furniture store to get some leather cleaner and just saw this sofa but haven't had a chance to really go through their fabric samples and look at each and every one. I did talk to the store's interior designer who told me that the fabric on the floor sample was a very high letter = expensive and possibly if I picked something else, it would decrease the cost somewhat. I have a Harden down-filled sofa that is about 6 years old and still very comfortable, but nothing even close to the Hickory White couch I sat on. Too bad it would be in my living room...I'll have to put a TV in there so I can sit on the couch more. Too pretty and expensive not to sit on everyday. Thanks, again!!!

Ashley uses pine plywood frames, low quality leather and overall quality is cheap. They just wont stand behind their product after a few years of use. A hardwood frame doweled, glued and screwed is essential. 8 -gauge No-Sage sinuous wire springs in a hardwood frame will last as long or longer than a 8-way hand tied coils. Many people will try to tell you different but independent laboratory tests and tests by the 2 major spring manaufacturers: Legget & Platt and Hickory Springs will guarantee their sinuous wire springs for life. Buy full grain leather only and dont buy split, bicast or composite man made leather. Their are a few manufacturers that offer a full grain leather in a hardwood frame for about 1500.00 , icustomsofa is one.

Grades = Price and not necessarily = better quality. And manufacturers / tanneries will grade their leather/pricing differently. Grade 1 maybe a top grain aniline dyed leather with no protective top coat; this is a very soft-hand comfortable, breathable leather but will soil very easily. Grade 3 maybe a top grain pigmented leather that has a protective top coat, doesnt breath as well but easily cleaned. Grade 2 maybe somewhere inbetween. But all top grain leathers are your most durable and most expensive. But is worth the investment. I am going furniture shopping in North Carolina this weekend. I am flying into Raleigh/Durham airport and I am renting a car. I am shopping for leather furniture. My parents bought Hancock & Moore from Boyles in Hickory and they love it. I am planning on buying Hancock & Moore but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on other manufacturers that I should consider. I want to stay in the same quality class as the Hancock & Moore. Also does anyone have any information on the Boyles stores. I went to their website and see they have multiple stores (Hickory, Highpoint, Raleigh, etc.) Do all their stores have the same pricing or are some discounted based on where they are located?? Naturally I am trying to minimize the driving time and if I can receive the same pricing in Raleigh as Hickory than I will just stay there. Are there any other stores that have Hancock & Moore that someone would suggest over Boyles?
