@vaporvac Those varieties sound cool, we don't have Menards in Richmond yet. Southern States gets some interesting potted roses. The wally world roses are now $3 from $6.44. I planted one called Love last year, that sitting out in the sun, in the middle of summer, in a body bag-but still alive! Figured a rose that survives that much mistreatment deserves a chance:) It was $2- that is the only rose so far (after Canary, sugarmoon, First crush, lemon fizz, alcymist) that was not affected by our intermittent freeze and warm ups. For its first year putting out many new growth and no fried up leaves. Wicked Thorns on it though. Duchess Brabant might have died-looks dead. I covered her with straw for insulation- but the tops all gone. still, I will leave her alone and see if she lives. Aldi-Also saw st josephs coat, elizabeth, gold medal, olympiad, easy red rose, some kordes hardy shrub rose (can't remember name)pink peace, peace, Heirloom, sunsprite (my favorite yellow so far), don juan, america, iceberg, jfk, westerland, love(hard to kill rose), pinata (i think). and more.. home depot- had the usual same ol same variety. Christmas tree shop-lily pons (potted) @7$. Other varities were sub zero ones bred by dr. brownell.

at Lowes today. Raining cats and dogs so a really good time to browse the clearance racks, umbrella in hand. Great deal on shrubs that are past bloom stage. I bought a big peony and several indoor plants (ferns) at deep markdowns. They had large rhodos, roses, climbing roses, trees (magnolias too), bleeding hearts, and bulbs that are done blooming. It was impressive because these plants were not half dead. Also got a very healthy and beautiful hydrangea at Aldis. Didn't expect much, but it was gorgeous and full of unopened buds. Turns out its a brestenburg (blue). They also had Merritt Supreme which I already have (and love). Happy Gardening and Stay Dry.

BH - now at THAT price, why wouldn't you scoop up one of those tables for your coffee table? They look like they'd be perfect cut down. CP, that love seat is adorable! I just love the old one in my office, that started out rust and ivory big checks from 'Country Farm Furniture', I don't know how many years ago. The small size is perfect, and it looks to be the size of yours. Great job re-doing it! Update - my sister scoffed up the 'all leather' chair above faster than you can imagine. It's in her bedroom already where I hear it looks great. My mother wants the other one, but I told her I'd find her another chair for her bedroom! It'll be the payment for the next time she has to baby sit my dogs when I travel for work.

Yes! We recently went out of town to do our grocery shopping as our local grocer is the only game in town and they take advantage of the situation with ridiculously high prices. One of the stores we visited had a one day only special - 40 pounds of either chicken thighs or boneless chicken breasts for $10. Only 25 cents per pound! We snapped up a box of the thighs, and when we got home, packaged them in groups of eight. We grilled a pack the other night and they are really nice quality with none of the bruising that is often found around the bones. I think they may have been packaged for restaurants. Since the lockdown started and shortages have been an issue, we've seen quite a few restaurant packs of various food items at the grocery store due to the closure of so many restaurants and the re-directing of food to the grocery stores. Whatever the reason was that the market had them, I was thrilled!
