My Hooker TV/stereo armoire is over 10 years old and fine. It isn't solid wood, it is veneered, but for electronic equipment it was preferred so the wood didn't warp. My desk which looks like an end table is the second piece I bought and when I thought the finish didn't match the previous piece bought a few years before they took it back upon delivery and replaced it. I had white glove service from Boyle's and was very pleased. I do not know where it was manufactured as it was bought a while back. But for what I paid and what I use it for, I am very pleased. Note, I do not use the end table which converts to a pull out desk on a daily basis.

btw, i am sofa shopping & will only buy sofas which are US made. I have been reading the sites & their sourcing/origin statements to see what percent of their materials are foreign sourced (eg, they can say made in the USA potentially if all they do is add ornmamentation to a premade foreign piece)... I wouldn't want a cheap frame and poor construction. But to be honest, even with a US manufacturer you need to check their most recent customer service information. Not all companies in the US - or those outside the US - are guaranteed to be 'good' or 'bad' based on location alone. Best of luck with your purchase!

We have a couple of pieces of Hooker office furniture that we bought approx. 5 yrs ago. The desks get used every day and have held up well. We also have a file cabinet and a glass front book shelf. They have also held up well, but they see very little use. The furniture is good, not great. It certainly isn't heirloom quality, but for office furniture, I don't want to have to stress about where the kids are doing their homework, and if there's a blotter underneath.
