Where can I buy a wooden rocking chair for my front porch. White

We just bought a house which has a nice veranda/porch around the front of the house. I wanted to buy some white rocking chairs for it. I tried some Fortunoff but they were uncomfortable. I am in Southern westchester. Can anyone recommend a bricks and mortar store where I can try the chair out first.

NOt a B&M store, but we bought our Adirondack chairs for our front porch at LL Bean. They also have rockers. They are fabulously sturdy for the price. If they didn't meet your comfort requirements, you could always buy some cushions.

I bought all my outdoor teak furniture from this site, Deck Patio Furniture - www.emassive.com I remember seeing that they had rocking chairs & I think you get to pick what color you would like it.

You might try hosing them down in the morning. Painting might make them look cleaner, but when it comes to sitting on them they still have to be cleaned. I finally figured out fixing my deck up nicely was just adding another room which has to be cleaned. The only furniture I have on my deck now is one lounge with removable cushions. Update - I just finished the 2 rockers & a small round side table...pheww...that was a lot of work! I started early this morning first washing the pieces, drying, scrubbing off loose paint w/ a wire brush, wiping down, sanding, wiping down w/ damp cloth. Then first coat, let dry for 1 hr. Second coat, let dry, then checked for touch-ups. They look great! Don't know how long the finish will last, but they look as good as new right now. I used Rustoleum paint for outdoor furniture in white/satin finish. I am lucky that it is a cool, clear, dry, not-too-windy day here in NH. I was able to set up and work outside and everything is getting a final dry on blocks of wood in the back yard. The prep work, sanding particularly, took longest and was a pain - so many slats/support dowels & joints to get around. Would I do it again? Yes. But not tomorrow, LOL!

As usual, we concur completely with GN Builders. If you can have a local engineer look at it firsthand maybe they'll tell you it's fine? In the photo the wood doesn't look like it's rotted...., but more importantly that's a crack not a check! Based solely on the photograph and the fact that it is the only load bearing post.... prudence dictates to just replace it. Thanks Renee. It might not show up well in the photos, but the stonework around the porch has a lot of grey in it. And the door is a gray-toned blue. We also have a lot of rocks in the landscaping. So I guess I was wondering if I should play off those. I don't mind the brown, but just wondered if breaking it up would be better. I also questioned if a dark brown porch would be "too much" with the roof and the mulch.

Find a store that sells Tyndall Creek chairs.
Reasonably priced, all wood rockers in a range of colors.
I know that big box stores like Home Expo sell them, but you should be able to find a better price.

If there is a Cracker Barrell near you, they have great rocking chairs for porches. $99.00 if I remember correctly.

I second the Cracker Barrell suggestion. Very nice rockers for a great price!

I recommend Troutman rockers -- They are more expensive than cracker barrel, but well-made and solid oak.

I was going to post check out the local Cracker Barrel near any off ramp near you. They usually have TONS of them for sale.
