Too good to be true?

About a month ago, I bought a package of turkey thighs at a great price (I assumed that the supermarket was trying to use up turkeys left over from the holidays before they expired). As soon as I got them home, I stuck the package in the freezer. This morning, I took them out and noticed, on the label, that they were "previously frozen." They were fully defrosted when I purchased them.

Should I take a chance on them? Is it a safety issue, or just a texture/appearance issue? I was planning to braise them in a Dutch oven, and it's just for DH and me, not company.

I'm hoping to hear LindaC say, "Sure, it'll be fine!"

Thanks, Sue
