It is 6 mm, so definitely thinner than traditional countertop materials. I realized I forgot to ask about the edge after I left. I'll try and remember to call this week. Personally, I'm not an "early adopter" so I don't think I would use it for a countertop. I would be worried about chipping. I do think it would be a great option for a backsplash or flooring. I guess time will tell!

Three years later and we finally know about this product. I don't consider this house to be our forever house so I was looking for budget friendly countertops. After visiting a local shop we found ceramic slabs that were 24" x 48" and decided to put that in since it would require minimal grout lines; three to be exact, no big deal. Today, we went to the store and the nice lady introduced us to travertine thin slab sheets that are different sizes depending on the color. We chose 38" x 84" which means we will only have one butt-joint line in our L-shape kitchen and our 3' x 4' island will have one continuous slab sheet (the left over will be used for backsplash along with glass tile). Ok, additional info was good! I have a similar looking floor tile going into one of the bathrooms I am remodeling, but it is a 12x24 porcelain tile. Since I am also using a white vanity, I didn't think that a white quartz counter was right for this space. I am using Pental quartz in their Carrara Polished color (BQ8530P). Very subtle pattern that doesn't clash with the floor tile, but has enough contrast with the white vanity. I only need it for a double counter and will be having to buy a whole slab, but that is just the way things work out sometimes when you have a certain look you want to achieve. If you live in So. CA I'll share the other half with you!! You could look at something similar that goes with your travertine. I am also using a glass mosaic from Oceanside Glass Tile that has white, silver/gray and a beige/gray. I think the Berwyn will be way too busy with your travertine. Do any driving you need to do in the next few days ... babies #2 usually come sooner and arrive much more quickly ... my #2 was nearly born on the highway, just made it to the hospital, checked in at 5:20pm and he was born at 5:35pm. How can I fix this? 8 years old. Tumbled travertine on a slab foundation in my very high traffic kitchen dining room. It's obviously needs to be cleaned and re sealed somehow. But I'm not sure what? I've used every cleaner I can think of. But the grout also has some issues. Most of the grout does not look like this. But a few spots are crumbling. Thanks for any advice you might have.
