My must haves are different for different markets. However, there are some universal must haves. Here is my top ten! 1) Scale for legal trade. Back up scale for emergencies. I usually bring my small kitchen scales. I weighs exactly the same as the legal one, but it isn't legal. I use it to weigh out beans or potatoes when I put them in baskets or bags. I always go a little over, that is the way I do business. I also use it in case of rain. Electronic scales and water don't mix for me. 2) Extra batteries for Scale 3) Enough change. I usually have cash stashed in my truck for emergency change making. $100 bill for 1 dollar purchase as your first customer of the day. Had it happen several times last year. Extra roll of quarters. 4) All legal paper work, tax info, plant license, receipt book (never used it). 5) Extra smaller containers to downsize display. I always am tearing down my display as time goes on. I also put my produce in smaller containers if I am running low on supply. No one wants to buy the last of anything. 6) Pen for checks, Extra pen for checks, and Back up pen for the pen that the person took when they wrote you a check. 7) Calculator or print off of price breaks for by the pound items. 8) I am usually rushed to get everything set up so I started writing down everything I am selling that day on a piece of paper or on a white board. I list the prices also. After I set up the shelter, tables, table clothes, money box an scales, I set this by the scales and it lets my early customers know what I have or will have. It helped out alot last year. 9) Extra food, water, diapers, toys, (potty seat) however, this is just for me when I have my four girls with me. It isn't all the time, but when you have a little one who has to go and the nearest bathroom is 2 blocks away, I will set the potty by the front of the truck she can go. I will deal with it later. Some detergents to try. Soap nuts bio Kleen perfume and dye free Charlie's soap Country save Just to let you know, many who have problems with charlie's in cloth diapering do not follow instructions, or can not due to diaper manufacturer instructions. In fact, the whole problem realy started when charlie's was in colaberation with a diaper manufacturer to develope a detergent. The detergent failed. Few years later, Charlie's came out with Charlie's soap. Charlie's soap began to develope a good reputation. Ex-business associate became quite pissed at this and all of a sudden there were reports of burns on babies butts from charlie's. Not only does this diaper manufacturer tell people they can not use bleach, but they can not use a sanitize cycle on the diapers either as it will damage the diaper. Of course kids are gonna get rashes if you have no way to disenfect the diapers. That's common sense. In fact, the detergent she does recommend has a high concentration of borax in it which can help, but many babies are sensitive to borax, but you won't hear her mention that. I did a lot of reserach on this particular dilema. I found out several things. Many mom's admitted they did not follow Charlie's instructions. Some admitted they did not contact the company when there was a problem. Some refused to or could not use bleach to disinfect, nor did they mantion any form of sanitizing at all. (Ya know even the sunshine can help with that.) Some reported that the only place there was a rash was on the butt where it got wet, but still felt no error on their part even though the child had a rash no where else. Many never took the child to the doctor to find out if it could have possibly been a food allergy expressed in the urine. Some refused to wash the rest of their laundry in the same thing there in by depositting other harsher deposits onto the baby's clothing. Also, unless a detergent specifically says it disenfects, it doesn't. You can wash and wash until the cows come home and may still never completely remove bacterium. Bacterium found in waste matter whether it is fecal or urine is particularly nasty. Would you use a wash cloth on your face that someone had wiped their poopy butt on if it had not been disinfected? I wouldn't. That's gross. But it's ok to make a kid sit in a cloth diaper that has not been sanitized in anyway? Something is not jiving here. Not to mention an independent lab tested charlie's on their own and found no residue left behind. If there's no residue then it can't be the detergent causing the rash. Something else has to be causing it. Common sense folks. Use what you feel comfortable with by all means. I just hate to see a product bashed because of a witch hunt started by some pissed ex-business associate from years ago. Even to this day she has refused to have testing done to support her claims. Makes ya wonder doesn't it.

Yeah, it was me. Our Miele Senior Tech, said that they see the most problems with people who use "green", plant based soaps and softeners. He said they gum up much easier, and are actually harder to rinse! He said of course Persil and Miele Care Collection have been tested the most in Miele machines, but most he detergents are fine. Actually, up until somewhat recently, Miele was listed on the back of Tide he, as a recommended and tested product! I use Persil Colour Gel and Ariel Gel mit ActiLift about 90% of the time. I recently picked up a HUGE bottle of Tide he liquid with a touch of Downy with ActiLift (it was on sale for $9.99...and is HUGE). I've done 3 loads with this he Tide liquid with Downy...and I am actually shocked how clean my clothes are. Smells great too. A soft version of Downy. I still use a little liquid Downy FS in the dispenser, but not too much since this detergent has Downy in it. Stains are gone, odors removed, soft clothes and smells really clean and soft!!

Ack! I was reading this thread, and I realize I have a load of whites soaking right now (old top loader) that I completely forgot! So, thank you for talking about soaking clothes. ;) I have to admit that I didn't set out to buy the DW that we did. Our DW died (5 years old), and we needed to replace it, as parts were near impossible to find. The problem I had was the space we have for a DW requires a European made model. We had only a few options, one of them being Miele. We purchased the Miele Futura Classic, which is the bottom tier of the Futura line, and I am absolutely thrilled with this dishwasher. I really didn't think there was that much differences in dishwashers, and I see that I was wrong. Even though the DW we had- when it worked- did a fine job with the dishes, this Miele blows it out of the water. This was- without a doubt- worth every penny. I don't pre-rinse my dishes at all, and I can put anything anywhere in the DW, and it comes out spotless. I love the cutlery tray, and I have yet to empty a dirty utensil, even though I don't pre-rinse it. This is supposedly the "loudest" of the Futuras, and we can't hear it at all. I totally understand all the Miele DW love now. :) Now to get those whites... :D
