Sturdy Reasonable Bookcases?

Hi,

My books have outgrown my shelves and I'm looking for sturdy freestanding bookcases. The "furniture" types are very expensive and I've started looking at "office" types.

I had gotten a small pressed wood bookcase years ago, and the shelves sagged. So I'm looking at something called "lumber core" with veneer. Is anyone familiar with this type? I've been told that 125 lb. test weight will hold my books without sagging. Books are heavy - should I be looking for a higher test weight? Does anyone have any experience with particular manufacturers?

Would unfinished solid wood be a better way to go?

Any other options or guidance?

Thanks for any help you can give me.
