I would say look for the consignment furniture shop for used furniture from good manufacterers. I found, by the recommendation of my interior designer, the consignment furniture store that consigns only high-end, quality furniture. Some of what I found are manufacterers like Henredon, Baker, Mailland-Smith, Ralph Lauren (by Henredon). Good furniture are built to last for generations so I like the idea of buying good consign furniture. I've bought a Henredon solid mahogany coffee table, nice dining chair set, and end tables from them. I love all of them!!, especially it made me not worry too much or trying to be careful about using these furniture at home 'coz I didn't pay as much, and it's already USED in good condition! Not having to worry about stuff I own is very important to me. If you get sofa that you like but don't like the fabric, you can also slipcover it to match the decor.

Four Seasons is a great company, they are a family owned business. I am a designer and I have a wholesale account. I have many accounts with different companies from very high end to medium. There furniture is nice medium to higher end for excellent prices. All companies were having problems with production during COVID and other for reasons. I am surprised to hear it is taking this long to receive orders from them. I live in NC, orders normally take around 4 weeks unless they are out of the fabric that was selected. A few things could be holding up orders, it depends on who you buy it from. When you select a piece, look at the details, measurements, cushions, mattress. Standard is fine for some people and it sits fine but you have choices to upgrade to fit your needs and your budget. I think there upgrade prices are very fair and worth it if you like a down softer feel, if you buy a sleeper I would advice not to order firm because a sleeper sits firmer than a sofa. My clients have never had a problem with what they bought, they have been pleased. I am working on a Multi Project right now I am ordering 5 sofas, 10 chair and many dining chairs. Since I am on a tight budget I am ordering standard but I am happy with a standard feel. I am ordering the Benton Sofa Queen sleeper 41” deep for a client in white sunbrella, we upgraded all the cushions to down feather blend, throw pillows in down,upgraded mattress to Memory Flex Mattress. Before you order from a store or designer ask them to call and ask Four Seasons what the receiving date will be. It may vary some but it shouldn’t be long unless they are out of the fabric but they can check this to. The back orders that I have had have taken around 1 to 2 weeks. If there is a problem getting a date you might want to select another fabric or buy what you need and send it in as COM order which is a grade 1-3 price, sunbrella is a 10 grade. Good luck!

chickory_flower: If budget is a concern then I think you can do well with Craigslist looking for a futon. I would recommend a wood frame, though, and perhaps buy a new mattress for it or if you can sew, you could make a new cover. The ones I had were cheapo metal--bought for just that purpose and I think that is why it was so uncomfortable as the metal bar poked through just like what happens with some sofabeds. I've noticed the wood futon frames have slats which may work better. The issue I think is because the mattress has to bend over there are no springs it it and so it tends to feel lumpy. Perhaps having an extra layer of the egg crate foam might help. teeda: The aeorbed twin is like having a sleeping bag. We were a group of 10 (2 families) traveling together. Then I would ask the hotel for extra sheets. My DS is the odd person out as the two girls can share a double bed and my DH and I the other. I like the flexibility of having a twin as it's easier to find an open spot to put it down. I'd rather have 2 twins than a double/queen. It comes attached with a plug in air pump that you use to inflate/deflate. It deflates very quickly, then you just fold lengthwise in thirds and roll up like a sleeping bag and then put in the little carrying case it comes with. Very quick and easy. I think it would be nice to have for slumber parties as well if you have kids. Then you can just set up an extra bed in your child's room for her friend. mustangs: The way it works is that you have a standard 3-4" thick sofa bed mattress adn attached to that is the air bed part. It comes with a pump which you plug in and inflate so that mattress then becomes a full 7-8" thick so you can fit standard sheets on it. While I didn't spend the night on it, I did lay down on it and it is very comfortable--like an aerobed raised up to bed height. The only thing is you have the added task to inflate/deflate daily. Reason I've not used it is because we don't have a rug in the living room and so opening/closing daily is a hassle. For some odd reason my DH's family prefers to sleep on the floor.

wow, thanks so much for all the great info! Unfortunately I have to do most of my shopping online (or drive about 3 hours one way) to look at the brands I'm looking for. Although hubby and I may take a drive in the next few weeks, I'd like to have it narrowed down at least by then. Hubby is NOT a shopper and complains about his legs hurting after only walking around for about 30 mins (funny how he can play basketball for 3 hours and not complain - ha!) I had not seen PB's performance twill fabric, but if it gets out stains that easily I'm DEFINITELY all over it! Thanks for the tip! And nmladybug, that is horrible that you spent so much for a piece of junk sectional! I'm so sad for you! I was actually considering the Pearce sofa so thanks for the advice.
