I would have to measure my dining room table, it can seat 8 people comfortably with the leaf in, but I usually don't have the leaf in. My ceilings are only 8 feet tall, but my concern is that where we are moving the kitchen table to in the remodel is by a new bank of windows and I don't want to obscure the view, which isn't an issue in the dining room. We wish that there were many things different about our house (higher ceilings, an attic *they used the wrong kind of trusses*, more bedrooms, etc.) but it's on the water and the location can't be beat, so we are working with what we have. I will try and dig up some photos of both areas to get an opinion on the light fixture. It's beautiful, very unusual, but it is large. It's actually the same diameter as my other light fixture but looks much larger because it is round, if that makes sense! Here is a photo of my old kitchen chandelier which we brought with us when we moved. I had always intended to use it as my breakfast nook light, until I found this other one. You see our dining room when you first enter our home so I think the other light (the round one) might make more of a statement. Plus I think the Hubbarton Forge is more open and won't obscure the view as much and it goes well with my pendant lights that I've chosen for over the island. Either fixture will work as the breakfast area will be separate from the kitchen. Here are my pendants. So what do you all think? I appreciate the input. You can also use the Contact Us link found in the green banner at the bottom of every page and it will take you to the same form. As Sushi suggests, it is always best to include the links to troublesome threads in your email, and the member's name. Perhaps people are on Easter/Passover vacation this week? Surely there is someone at the wheel, don't you think?

After many years of observing GEM's extreamly poor service for Sam's Club member, the bank has hit a new low by redefining the meaning of a simple word in the English language. If I lost my credit card and it was replaced with a new one (new acciount number)I could understand the reason for reporting that fact to credit bureaus. When the primary account holder of my Sam's card passed away, Sams changed my standing from secondary (user) to primary, with a new account number and membership ID card. After reporting that I lost my credit card to the credit bureaus, GEMB refuses to correct the delibert insertion of false information to my credit file. The GEMB supervisor stated that I "LOST" my old credit card NUMBER when Sam's Club changed it to a new one. I never lost my existing card, nor was it ever stolen. GEMB's is violating the Fair Credit Reportring Act, and as usualy blames it on Sam's Club. It seems that Sam's club would have had to alow me to keep my old account number when changing my status from secondary to primary in order to keep GEMB from flagging my reports with untrue information. No wonder GEMB is at the center of so much fraud. The company simply has no ethics of its own. It does not help resolve fraud issues that people do have, while the bank insists on creating eronious credit information where there is no lost or stolen credit card involved. Someone asked what GEMB stood for. The name aboviously is derived from the parent company's corporate policy. GE (General Electric) Means ..... Whenever contemplating the purchase of any product made by GE, I think of the routine customer abuse it provides through GEMB and then buy any product but GE. It is a shame that Sam's club refuses to sever its relationship with such an arrogant, irresponsible, incompetent financial institution. It probly has something to do with the amount of money that Sam's makes selling GE products.

This post sort of ties in with the earlier Jenn-Air post, as both Jenn-Air and KitchenAid are manufactured by Whirlpool. Remember that name - WHIRLPOOL. So I bought a whole KitchenAid package last August - a fridge, stove, hood, dishwasher. The fridge has an outside H2O and ice dispenser. There's a nifty electronic reading that reports how much water is dispensed, in ounces. I noticed that an 8 oz. reading on the fridge was really dispensing a tad over 4 ounces. Hmmm....I thought, not a big deal but I should call while it's still under warranty and get this fixed. The first repairman came out and said I needed a new "something or other" and he promptly ordered it. The part arrived in less than a week. The second repairman came out to install it and said I never needed the part in the first place. He said the reading was off because my water pressure was low. So apparently, the water is not actually 'measured', but 'guesstimated' by the time the button is depressed, based on an average water pressure. I thought it was a stupid thing to have a measurement reading when it really doesn't measure anything. My water pressure is good to fair. So I shrugged it off and forgot about it. Until I received a bill for $90 for a service visit that wasn't covered under warranty. I called the service company and Whirlpool (who I think is ultimately responsible for this charge) and both companies insisted that I had to pay this bill. I guess I was supposed to know how Whirlpool engineered their product. I am beyond fuming on this. Remember the name - Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid. If anyone has contact info for someone from Whirlpool/KitchenAid who actually gives a damn about my dilemma, please share it with me. I still find it hard to believe they expect me to pay this bill.
