I have both an electric 1750 husky and a Ridgid 3000psi gas pw. I won the husky in a raffle. It works good for what it is and will clean items that don't need alot of pressure because 1750 is not a lot of pressure. It will clean a deck and has enough psi to damage the decking if your not careful. Its psi is perfect for cleaning your car as well. The power cord can make moving the pw a pain especially with the hose attached, the pw hose, and the power cord. The reason I bought the ridgid was to clean the siding on my house. The husky just doesn't have enough gpm or pressure to effectively clean siding. I used vinyl siding wash and I had to get within about inches of the siding to clean it off. Honestly for the time I spent just cleaning one garage door, I would have spent a lot less time with a regular hose and a scrub brush. I think more of the water ended up on me. The ridgid has enough power to clean the house and I don't need to get anywhere near as close. If you have small cleaning jobs, the 2000psi will be fine, but driveways, siding etc your going to want something with much more gpm and more psi which means more than $200

Okay so when you say induction, you are talking about the cook top surface... what about the oven? Convection... yea or nea? I am guessing without looking yet that if we are paying for induction, then convection oven is going to be an option. I will see how much for induction, but if past our budget, then need some suggestions on slide in brands that will be a good purchase. We bought a dishwasher on the fly, literally like buying a candy bar at the check out line, and regret it daily! It does a terrible job on washing the dishes! I won't make the same mistake this time around :)

Gee, people not being that helpful to the OP. For an electric range, induction is preferred over a smoothtop electric. Bosch and Electrolux are brands that are recommended for an induction range. Keep in mind that you may need to buy new cookware because induction requires magnetic cookware. Just take a fridge magnet to your cookware to see if some or all of yours already is magnetic. Many people think buying new cookware is a small price to pay because they love induction so much (and shopping for cookware is fun). I suggest you post on The Appliances Forum. Anything could be dated tomorrow. That is what keeps the home furnishing and interior design (or most other) businesses going. Someday Soon asked for an affordable idea. I just showed a picture from Someday Soon’s idea book. My suggestions assumed that Someday Soon had some skills and some tools. If Someday Soon does not have tools, they could just paint everything on the fireplace area black, including the tile, which would eliminate the drywall repair steps. An an alternative to real wood would be a small amount of wallpaper in a frame to simulate the fireplace box. I would put it in a frame hung on the wall, and not glue the wallpaper directly to the wall. I have been in wallpaper hell enough times that I know how fast wallpaper can become dated, and how hard it is to repair the damage caused by wallpaper.
