green coffee extract anyone?

I saw recently on TV Dr. Oz talking about green coffee extract & losing weight especially around the middle/waist.

Anyone tried this yet? No matter how much or little I weigh, my middle is always big but this supplement sounds too good to be true!

I came here tonight hoping to find some info on this coffee bean too. I saw it on Dr Oz's show. He seemed to think favorably about it. I went to my Dr.'s today about another matter and asked him what he thought about it. (I take diabetic medicine, blood pressure, cholesterol and thyroid medicines) He said it was completely safe, however there is a lot of caffeine in it, so if it makes me nervous or my heart races to stop taking it. He said I could be his guinea pig and let him know how it's working. I don't know where to buy it, I was going to search on the internet. Hope someone responds that is taking it! Ruth Ann

ruthann: I also am on lorsartin for blood pressure, vytorin for cholesterol, synthroid for thyroid & carbidodopa for RLS (restless leg syndrome). I am of Swedish heritage so I drink a LOT of coffee so it shouldn't bother me with the caffeine in the green coffee beans. I understood it can be bought at Walmart. Am active outdoors all summer & keep my weight under control but I just want to lose some belly fat that seems to stay no matter how much I weigh!

Am going to ask my Dr. about it also & I may try to start taking it.... hope we both find it works!!

1.In all cases the fruit has to be ripe. Green peppers are immature with exception of a couple of green when ripe varieties. Bells should have their ripe color (red, orange or yellow) before saving seeds. Cucumbers and squash also need to be mature. Since cukes and summer squash are normally used as immature fruits, you need to let the ones for seed fully ripen. Cukes will be yellow or orange, Squash will be hard like a gourd. Winter squash are used in thier mature form so all you have to do is scrape out the seeds. 2. Many folks ferment the tomato seeds to remove the gel. Cleaning the others is a good idea, washing usually works. Dry completely. then store in a cool dry environment. If you store in a freezer, make sure the seeds are absolutely dry.

Well, it's illegal to distill alcohol.... :o) The government wants it's taxes. You can make one, don't let the police in the door! :o) I made one from a pressure cooker. I'd google distillation. I had a website, I can't find it. It was of a store pretty close to me. Here's a website I just found... has cheap separation funnels... http://www.pelletlab.com/lab_supplies_glassware.htm here's another explanation: These days, essential oil is extracted primarily by steam distillation, where super heated steam is passed through the powdered herb. The steam helps to release and then carries away the essential oil which is locked in the cellular structure of the herb. The steam is then cooled and the result is a hydrosol and essential oil which floats on the hydrosol and is separated and further refined and filtered. Hydrodistillation is the traditional method of extraction. It is fairly rare these days, yet it is said that this method yields an oil with a superior aroma. Instead of having steam pass through the powdered herb, in a hydrodistiller the powder is allowed to soak in water. A fire from below the vessel then heats the water and carries off the steam which is allowed to cool. The oil is then removed from the top of the hydrosol. FWIW - Forum discussions frequently center on the question of adding dilute coffee/tea or grounds to plants as a 'tonic', but Arabica (coffee) and Camellia (tea) are known for their toxic alkaloid (caffeine) content and their allelopathic affect on plants as well as autotoxic (poison to their own seedlings) effects on future generations. Caffeine interferes with root development by impairing a plant's protein metabolism. This affects activity of an important bio-compound (PPO) and lignification (the process of becoming woody), crucial steps for root formation. We also know that the tannins in both coffee and tea are known allelopaths (growth inhibitors). There are ongoing experiments to develop herbicides using extracts from both coffee and tea that cause me to want to say they might serve better as a nonselective herbicide than as a tonic. Anyone else have problems with new "green" insulation?

Mid September, 2015, we had installed Certainteed unfaced fiberglass insulation and it had a terrible smell. It actually made my wife sick and we had to move out for a months . There were no other building materials installed for several weeks. As a retired carpenter, I have smelled a lot of insulation in my time but never smelled anything this strong. I called both the insulation contractor and the Certainteed rep to come and inspect. It over a week for the contractor to show up and they only sent a lead hand. His first comment was, "I don't smell a thing". After pressing him a bit, he admitted he did smell the insulation but that it was not strong. It was true that a lot of the odour had off gassed but was still very noticeable. The end result was all they would do was send me the MSDS sheet so show how safe it is. The Certainteed rep for BC was no better/different except it took him over two weeks to appear after I made my first complaint to Certainteed. He said he would make his report to head office. After not hearing anything for a month, I called him and he said there was nothing they could do as it had been approved by Health Canada. It is now just over two months later and most of the odour has dissipated but I can still smell it in an interior stairwell so that tells me that it is leaking into the house somewhere. Unfortunately, my wife has developed a sensitivity to dust and woodsmoke that she did not have before.

If I remember correctly, they said to take only what is labeled pure and when I researched it, the best source I found was on Amazon.

Another Magic Bullet. Diet and exercise, that's what does it, not all this blue-sky stuff. All you will lose is money.

Got a bottle of 'Diet Works' green coffee bean extract (made with svetol/ 45%chlorogenic acid) from Costco as it had a coupon from there with money off. Contains less than 16 mg of caffeine per two tablet serving.

Take two pills a day but just started them so shall see what happens in a month or two. I drink a lot of coffee & no problems but this week I have some slight GI symptoms... not sure from the pills of just some 'bug' going around; will have to see what happens with time.
Anyone else tried this &, if so.... any problems or good results?
