green coffee extract anyone?

I saw recently on TV Dr. Oz talking about green coffee extract & losing weight especially around the middle/waist.

Anyone tried this yet? No matter how much or little I weigh, my middle is always big but this supplement sounds too good to be true!

I came here tonight hoping to find some info on this coffee bean too. I saw it on Dr Oz's show. He seemed to think favorably about it. I went to my Dr.'s today about another matter and asked him what he thought about it. (I take diabetic medicine, blood pressure, cholesterol and thyroid medicines) He said it was completely safe, however there is a lot of caffeine in it, so if it makes me nervous or my heart races to stop taking it. He said I could be his guinea pig and let him know how it's working. I don't know where to buy it, I was going to search on the internet. Hope someone responds that is taking it! Ruth Ann

ruthann: I also am on lorsartin for blood pressure, vytorin for cholesterol, synthroid for thyroid & carbidodopa for RLS (restless leg syndrome). I am of Swedish heritage so I drink a LOT of coffee so it shouldn't bother me with the caffeine in the green coffee beans. I understood it can be bought at Walmart. Am active outdoors all summer & keep my weight under control but I just want to lose some belly fat that seems to stay no matter how much I weigh!

Am going to ask my Dr. about it also & I may try to start taking it.... hope we both find it works!!

All these fads come and go they sometimes work for a short period but in time they fail. The only way to lose weight is to reduce calories intake. There is mineral deficiencies that cause cravings and to stick to a diet is difficult.

Anyone else have problems with new "green" insulation?

Mid September, 2015, we had installed Certainteed unfaced fiberglass insulation and it had a terrible smell. It actually made my wife sick and we had to move out for a months . There were no other building materials installed for several weeks. As a retired carpenter, I have smelled a lot of insulation in my time but never smelled anything this strong. I called both the insulation contractor and the Certainteed rep to come and inspect. It over a week for the contractor to show up and they only sent a lead hand. His first comment was, "I don't smell a thing". After pressing him a bit, he admitted he did smell the insulation but that it was not strong. It was true that a lot of the odour had off gassed but was still very noticeable. The end result was all they would do was send me the MSDS sheet so show how safe it is. The Certainteed rep for BC was no better/different except it took him over two weeks to appear after I made my first complaint to Certainteed. He said he would make his report to head office. After not hearing anything for a month, I called him and he said there was nothing they could do as it had been approved by Health Canada. It is now just over two months later and most of the odour has dissipated but I can still smell it in an interior stairwell so that tells me that it is leaking into the house somewhere. Unfortunately, my wife has developed a sensitivity to dust and woodsmoke that she did not have before.

I am using it now. She is about 30 lbs. I started with half of the capsule twice a day 75 mg in am and 75 mg pm. Always on a full stomach. I did this for about 10 days then went to 1 capsule in the am 150 mg. and then 150 in the pm. She is been on it for about 5 months and it has shrunk everything. She did get a pop up now which I am going to have removed with freezing. But it works. She has had no new ones until now so I am going to try to increase dose by 75 mg. a day. I also have no information but it works. That is as high as I will go. She is almost 18 years old and also has kidney problems, so I am thankful for this pill. petalique, most green coffee bean sellers have a date on their beans, so you know when they were shipped from the coffee grower to the seller you buy from. We use ours pretty quickly, but it's said they keep from 1 year to 3 years. I'd not want to go past 1 year. We keep ours in the plastic zip bags they come in from Burman's, and inside a translucent bin with a snap on lid, in a dark area. Burman's (not sure about Sweet Maria's) gives a flavor profile, and even tells you which crack point to roast to for certain flavors. So when we first bought beans, we tried a number of profiles that described 'chocolate, caramel, floral, acid, smooth, etc.' Higher acid is a stronger, sharper taste, 'smooth' is lower acid. When you find a bean you like, and the roasting time you like, after a year, there will be a new crop, with a different flavor. We typically stay within the region or Country, for similar flavor. And of course, we read the descriptions. FWIW, when we started roasting, and even now, our preference is chocolate and caramel flavor tones, and I can taste it. DH can't, he just knows he likes it. Floral is nice, but I don't care for higher acid cups. On the Fresh Roast, if anyone is interested in that, we use hot pads to hold the top and bottom (they come apart, and some is glass) together and lift the roaster when the beans first start - shaking it a bit to move the beans, and also start with lower temps as green beans are heavier. As they roast, they puff a bit and lighten up in weight so move more easily in the air and roast more evenly at that point. Again, you can watch a lot of videos. We listened to a couple just to hear the 'crack'.

If I remember correctly, they said to take only what is labeled pure and when I researched it, the best source I found was on Amazon.

Another Magic Bullet. Diet and exercise, that's what does it, not all this blue-sky stuff. All you will lose is money.

Got a bottle of 'Diet Works' green coffee bean extract (made with svetol/ 45%chlorogenic acid) from Costco as it had a coupon from there with money off. Contains less than 16 mg of caffeine per two tablet serving.

Take two pills a day but just started them so shall see what happens in a month or two. I drink a lot of coffee & no problems but this week I have some slight GI symptoms... not sure from the pills of just some 'bug' going around; will have to see what happens with time.
Anyone else tried this &, if so.... any problems or good results?
