This is a site to answer each other questions and be supportive of those that are trying to do something about their bodies and ways of life. Not everyone's metabolism works the same. If you can't be helpful or supportive then get lost. To Keri: I also saw the ad in a magazine and wondered about its claims. ThatÂs why I am here. Seems like most comments are negative. I don't think I'm going to buy it. I'm holding out for Patti. If she loses weight I'll try it.

No, doing strength training on the Sensible Gym will not be a waste (I have a Total Gym). However, you must be realistic about what your results might be. Certainly, to see clear definition and muscle toning, you need to lose excess fat. While building more lean muscle mass DOES burn more calories--even while you're at rest--it won't burn enough to melt away all your excess weight without your doing other work, like the Walk Away The Pounds workout you mentioned. (I am also a speedwalker). In addition, you need to moderate your diet, eat more healthy foods, eat less fat and sugar, eat fewer calories overall--guided by a nutritionist, or at least, good sense, to insure you don't take in too few calories. Starving yourself is unhealthy and will result in your body trying to hold onto every calorie it takes in. Overall, if you do the above, you will see results. The Sensible Gym, or any strength training workout, is valuable not just for building muscles which "show," but also for building greater bone density and greater overall body strength, which is important to help protect against injury and the other infirmities which we all face as we age. And look, even if--for argument's sake--you didn't lose ALL the 60 pounds you want to, you're still better off being slightly overweight and STRONG and LIMBER than just being overweight. Anyway, just be persistent. Don't expect the Sensible Gym to be a miracle solution--there is no such thing. What it takes is dedication and patience, and careful attention to the food you eat, and portion size, and being faithful to your exercises. If you develop the exercise habit and realize this is a lifetime committment, you'll be less inclined to become impatient and give up, and you'll not only see results, but you'll FEEL good knowing you're FIT.

I'm new to the forum, and very traditional in my ways to a healthy life of diet and exercise. Through schooling, reading, and research doing it the old fashion way works....I have went thru all 10 pages of dicussions and noticed the "diet of the month" changes. Everyone jumps on the bandwagon because it worked for someone. I'm not in perfect health...10-15 pounds could come off in the ideal world, but I am so happy to be where I am because obesity runs strong thru my entire family, so I battle the life of gaining more weight everyday. I notice the "new" concerns of Berry Trim and looked into it, just to find his claims sound like so many other..."stop fat, lose weight in 6weeks, increases energy "naturally""..etc...Everyone eats it up, but he offended some and now he sucks, well they are all the same...yes they may work for some, usuallt teporaily...but lets see everyone 10 years from now, or see if the "lifestyle" is healthy LONG term...Our body needs a healthy balance of all foods, even fat. Yes there are healthy fats and bad...good carbs and bad, but I see so much advice that may actually be harmful for some. We don't know a lot about each other, and not enough to give specific eating guidelines...it concerns me. I beleive in supporting each other and guiding those with questions to professionals that know what best. Any DIET plan that makes unrealistic promises is making a lot of money on us...I learned to spend it where its most important, healthy food of all kinds. Please be aware that fast fixes, and BIG promises won't change your life- only YOU can through long term commitment to YOURSELVES!!!! Hi, I just started anorex on Thursday and was wondering what other side effects/results you may have experienced. Did I waste my $$?? I have a very bloated feeling right now and I am going to the potty quite often. I am trying to drink a lot of water to replenish and maybe flush out my stomach ache so maybe it is just a short term thing, I sure hope so! My stomach is so uncomfortable that I wonder if that is what turns you off to eating, it is just such a full feeling like I just had two thanksgiving dinners. I need to lose 40 pounds and I am really going to commit to diet and working out b/c I know that is key. I feel like if I could just fit in to some of my old clothes, I would be motivated and could lose this weight by summer - at least 25. Its like once you start seeing results, you want to go on, but if you are feeling flabby, you say what the heck a whole sleeve of oreos at 11:00 PM doesn't matter b/c I am already fat! I am so so disgusted with myself right now and having to hide under big shirts b/c I cant even zip my own pants! I refuse to go up any more sizes so I am hoping anorex can get me started. I am wondering if this bloated feeling goes away and what I can look forward to, hopefully some success with this. Would appreciate hearing other's results....thanks!!
