Good Tuesday morning, Maddie and Tikanis, and everyone else!

Well, the reconciliation failed, so the divorce process is back on, and I think we're both relieved now. I'll complete all my medical appts. between now and mid-December, then the divorce should be final before Christmas and I'll move to Dallas to begin my new life.

It's great to have this place to come to even when I can't work up enough "oomph" to post. "Seeing familiar faces" is comforting to me. I'm still eating pretty well and losing about a pound a week.

This morning I'm having oral surgery on my lower teeth/gums, so I'll be gumming my food for the rest of today.

Happy Saturday!!! Yes I'm seed planting now - but in different ways. I cannot plant until after the last frost day - normally in Ontario Canada it's the 3rd weekend in May. Right now I am starting some stuff to grow indoors - even a few tomato plants. I have ample south facing windows. Some of my veggies are to share with friends too. Things like some of my slow growing flowers - lavender - I like to start a huge tray indoors. Since the onion seeds are from big onions, I'd be lucking in spring to have small bulbs from the seeds. The herbs will eventually go outside. My next venture is using water jugs I saved from the summer to do 'Winter Sowing' - had lots of success with that over the years everywhere I lived. Trudi who started it all now has her own website and has moved on but left terrific FAQs at GW. My other focus for this week is challenging others to tackle a box a day to declutter (it's on the KT). Makes this unpacking a little more fun. Misery loves company! LOL. Last night we had friends over for dinner and cards. We had a riot. I had waaaaay too much fun. Let myself go too much but mentally it was all worth it. Haven't laughed like that in some time. Besides laughter burns energy. I'm carrying on today. Did not get my cook ahead done because DH and I spent the afternoon giving this place a good cleaning over (felt fantastic afterwards). My new friend Catherine last night mentioned a nearby town (she lives just outside) is starting a quilt club. She's interested and so am I. We're going to check that out. While we go quilting our boys will enjoy male bonding. I'm getting more social activity in the country than I had living in the city. You can take a bus in the city to a shopping venue or park but that's not socializing. This is better than prozac! Besides I have a ton of quilting magazines I might find good homes for. So lets really get out there an enjoy this weekend. My continued love and support to all of use - my arms are open for sharing hugs. Hi! Congrats Suzanne on that terrific total on the yard sale! What was the fund raiser for? Carolyn, I feel your pain re the heat! Hotter than heck here too... I think most of us are catching up on FB, but I find this to be so much more private, a safe place where we can bare our souls. This group is amazing, even if I haven't been checking in so often! Just wanted to say thank you for all of the prayers and good wishes, good thoughts from you guys after my accident. I am completely recovered from that nasty concussion, jaw is all healed and i have been back to work for the past 2 1/2 weeks! You might have seen that I have already been deep sea fishing and this Sunday I am taking my kayak out on Newport Bay. Can't wait! Can't find too many friends or family who enjoy kayaking as much as I do, so I went to meetup.com and found some new friends who DO! Ha! There is group at that link for EVERY interest. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NHSuzanne! YAY! It's your birthday! I hope that your family finds a way to make it very, very special for you! We love you here and are glad to hear your stories, detailing your outings on your baby, Sweet Pea. Brekky: 1/2 bagel (but I'm going hunting for Marci's brand Monday!) 16 oz latte, n/f milk, s/f vanilla Snack:: Bag of pretzels: 220 cals Coffee w/ cream Late lunch at 3:30 (service went long): Lots of roasted veggies and a tiny piece of roast pork left over from the other night Dinner: (went to a housewarming party) About 6 rice crackers with homemade hummus - delish! Small square of phyllo-covered spinach something 3 sausages (small cocktail type - "Danger!") Lots of cucumber slices Dessert: The icing off of a 2" serving of chocolate cake Some red grapes Water, water, water, water! (Lots of wine flowing at this party, but I did not go there-stuck with spending my calories on food instead of wine and this morning, I'm glad I did that!) Going out to brekky with my family, then I hope to finish laundry and scoop my house into order! Also, my teen kids babysat twin boys all night for the house-warming couple and I hear them stirring, so before brekky, I have to return the boys to their parents! So fun having boys in the house tho'! Maddie~ (((((LOVE AND HUGS!))))))) Special thoughts going out to you and your kitty today---and every day. And tell Rog to GO SUCK A LEMON! Raeanne: I resorted to printing a cute photo I had of the housewarming couple and framing it, then wrapped it in a ribbon and DH brought along a bottle of Berritage wine for them. I love your idea of a Feng Shui basket, but you're right, it takes a certain kind of person! That would be a great idea for the holiday exchange HERE though---something with a Feng Shui twist! NHSuzanne~ (((((((((HUGS and DOUBLE HUGS)))))) Ouch! That kind of situation hurts! Even tho' they may not have meant any harm! The first thing that came to my mind was the same thing Raeanne wrote. We have a group of 4 gal pals here and when we do something in groups of 2 or 3, we rarely share- it spares hurt feelings. Sometimes I'm the one left out, but we still love each other. It just works out that way. The second thing I thought was: Have you offered to sell Casey to Linda with a payment schedule? If you're going to consider selling Casey or get another rider if Linda stops riding her, why not work out a deal? Obviously, Linda cares a great deal for Casey and has had a year-long relationship that's good for you, her, and the mare. Linda seems to be acting as though she wants her "own" horse; a reasonable deal that you may be able to facilitate if it can be worked out in a memorialized agreement. The other, third thing I hate to mention, but will stick my neck out here anyway. Maybe the 'other' gal pal has a less strong connection with animals than yours and Linda can look at the horse and get a feel for it better by herself. You are very good with animals and sometimes, I'm certain, they are rather drawn to you. Linda may feel like she needs to be alone with the horse to see if she gets the right fit going. Who knows? But it's another idea. Why not buzz Linda and talk to her about it over a tea? It'd be worth it to clear the air before the road trip. She may feel trapped if you decide to wait until the car ride to bring it up. Again, ((((HUGS)))) and I hope the answer comes to you. My clay mask went to the kiln today, so I'll see it next week. I am starting on a terra cotta sculpture of a very muscle-bound man in a kneeling position at a prayer bench-naked and crying. I don't know why I'm doing this particular sculpture, but that's what happened when I started fashioning the clay. Everyone in the class thinks I'm wiggy or something. Ah, well, what else is new? I am glad that your reaction is one of relief. You got some validation in counseling and I hope that makes your new start easier. I hope that you see this as a new adventure. The world is now your oyster!

Good morning everyone. This has been a slow week here. Where is everyone? I have had a sinus infection for over a week & with the CFIDS & Fibromyalgia it takes every fiber of my being to get back on track.

Milkdud~I hope you won't stay sad real long. You have been fighting an uphill battle a long time & I think the relief you feel is a sign that better things are to come. I can visit you in Dallas too! And, soon I won't live that far away. Hip hip hooray!

Well, it is time for me to call my Mom. I just wanted to check in & let everyone know I'm still kicking. :)

Hi Guys!

Back from Alaska...everything is chugging along. Us kids have a plan for Mom and Dad. They are old and with my Dad being sick, it's hard for my Mom to stay focused. She has onset Alzheimer's, so when she gets stressed, she gets forgetful. Weee...I love lookin' forward to THAT for myself!

Milkdud: If it's any comfort, I think you are doing the right thing. We see so many reconciliations fail and things, at that point, really get worse. So making a firm decision is the way to go. You sound like you're ready for the transition. YOU GO, GIRL! Youwill do just fine in Dallas!

Maddie: You work too hard...lol.

Okay...this is ridiculous....

6 posts for the whole week?

We need to get some renewals here and start getting our old gang going again.

I was driving down the road thinking how sad it would be if, after all these years, this group wasn't here for each other.

Everyone is going through transitions and is busy, but this is the place we keep coming back to.

What can we do? I vote for a questionaire to get to know each other's recent happenings...

Questions about marital status, kids, pets, farm animals, likes, dislikes, pet peaves, food, favorite recipes, vacation destinations, favorite memories, treasures you hold dear, etc.

Has FaceBook left our GardenWeb group in the dust? I hope not. :-(

It'll be Rabbit/Rabbit on Monday and I hope everyone remembers it's the start of a new month and a reunion of friends here.

Had a wonderful, long talk with Maddie today! It was the highlight of my week! What a Sweetheart she is. I felt like I'd known her forever!

Got the World Series game on, working on some household projects and puttering. Staying in tonight, just me and the cat and Ponce*

Hi Guys!

I went to a fundraiser haunted house last night. People from the town donated everything and the athletic kids made a haunted house. One guy donated his warehouse for the thing to take place. It was a huge effort and is likely to make a lot of money for the sports program here. YAY!

Tonight, treat or treating with my 12 year old DD! Then hosting a movie night for a buncha 14 yr olds!

I think I'll dye my hair too. It's lookin' a little grow-outtie....haha!

I'm supposed to go to work and clean the office today, but I'm reading the internet news and surfing. Okay, this is it. I'm going to work!
