whoops meant to post in the tropical fruit forum, here's the plan's anyway.

sure beats paying 5k for a sugarcane press, which someone i knew did. it's worth it if you love sugarcane though, and want to start a sugarcane business. i tried using my juicer....mixed results, i definitely got juice. check out my blog, i have it all documented, lol. next time, i will try using a Vitamix (one of those high speed blenders that will blend anything, even bricks). it's expensive but it's not 5k expensive. I hope it will work. now i just need to get my hands on some sugar cane.

I just have a question about Vitamix, since you brought up blenders. Do people really put whole fruit like oranges or grapefruit, etc in juicer/blenders like they show on QVC when they do the Vitamix sellathons? If so what about the white pithy stuff and the seeds? Also they sometimes put in whole peppers and the like. Are the seeds in these fruits and vegys just ground up beyond recognition and so you don't notice them? Does the white pithy part under the peel of citrus fruit give the resulting slurry a bitter taste? Just wondering.
