Jojoco's Summer Torte

1 stick butter, softened (I always use unsalted)
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup flour; sifted
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
pinch of salt
fruit of choice; sliced into wedges (I used about 7 plums. Peaches, nectarines,strawberries all work great and in combination)
cinnamon sugar for top

Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and add sugar. Beat well. Add eggs and beat. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to batter. Mix. Spoon globs to greased 9 or 10 inch springform. Use a knife to spread batter to cover entire pan. Arrange fruit on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar (amount depends on the sweetness of the fruit).
Bake for 45 min.

Prep & cook time: About 10 minutes to mix;
1 hour to bake at 350 degrees F

Notes: Use any juicy berry (except strawberries), pitted cherries, strong-flavored apples, Pears, whatever Makes: 8 servings

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, cut into chunks -- plus extra for buttering pan
1 cup all purpose flour --- plus extra for flouring pan
1 cup granulated sugar - plus 1 Tbl. to sprinkle over fruit
1 tsp. baking powder
2 large eggs
1 cup fresh or frozen unsugared fruit
any spices you want for sprinkling
1 Tbl. powdered sugar
Ice Cream if desired

1. Butter and dust with flour a 9 inch cake pan with removable rim.

2. In a bowl, combine 1 c, sugar and 1/2 c, butter; slowly beat to blend, then on high until well mixed.

3. Add 1 cup flour, baking powder, and eggs. Stir to combine, then beat on high until the stiff batter is well blended.

4. Scrape batter into cake pan and spread to smooth.

5. Scatter fruit evenly over batter. Sprinkle fruit with 1 Tbl. granulated sugar, (plus any spices you may want.)

6. Bake on center rack of oven just until cake begins to pull away from sides of pan, about 55-60 minutes. Run a thin-blade knife around pan rim. Let cool at least 10 minutes, or, if making ahead, wrap cake airtight when cool and let stand at room temperature for up to 1 day.

7. Remove pan rim, dust with the Powdered Sugar, and cut into wedges. (Serving with ice cream is great!)

Sounds like maybe it could be this one? I use regular plums, not sure what a "prune plum" is....

Plum Tart

2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
3/4 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
12 tablespoons cold unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks), diced
1 egg yolk
2 pounds firm, ripe Italian prune plums, pitted and quartered lengthwise

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Combine the flour, walnuts, and sugar in a large bowl. Add the butter and the egg yolk. Mix, either by hand or with an electric mixer, until crumbly.
Press 1 1/2 cups of the crumb mixture in an even layer into the bottom of a 9 1/2-inch springform or tart pan. Arrange the plums in the pan, skin side down, to form a flower pattern; begin at the outside and work your way in.
Sprinkle the rest of the crumb mixture evenly over the plums.
Bake the tart for 40 to 50 minutes, or until it's lightly
browned and the plum juices are bubbling. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Remove from the pan and transfer the tart to a flat plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Hungarian Plum Cake

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
10 plums (I like to use the Italian plums)
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon, for topping
1/2 cup sugar, for topping

Let hot water run in mixing bowl to heat then dry. Put the butter and cream the butter. Add sugar and 1 egg, beat well. Add second egg and beat well. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well and add almond extract. Spread batter into a greased deep pie plate.

Cut plums in half and remove pits. DO NOT PEEL. Arrange in rows with the skin side down. Press lightly into place. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle on top of batter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
