Happy Valentines Day Everyone
Have been missing in action - down 12 lbs.
DD announced she is getting married on September 18th and it has been a whirlwind just getting a venue booked for this year.

Haven't checked the posts - but I will later today and try and get caught up on everything.
Fill me in if I've missed something HUGE in the last three weeks.
Thanks and have a wonderful day.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

*****************************************

QOD: What's up for Valentine's Day/Evening?

I'm working, DH is home recuperating. Today at 4pm he will come with me to dentist appointment (does the fun ever end?). Depending upon how I feel after they fix this crown, we may go out for dinner. The only good part about the dentist is that I get the laughing gas.....my very favorite drug of choice!!!! LOL!!

Hi Guys! DeeMarie~ WOW! Great progress---that feels so good, doesn't it? Gretchen: Your DEX is a real prize! I'm happy you're able to keep your sense of humor with him! NHSuzanne~ Your lunch sounds fun. I'd love to go to lunch with a couple of friends. Think I'll pick up the phone and do some work on that! QOD: 1st choice: DisneyWorld in Florida 2nd choice: Kauai, HI. 3rd choice: Chicago I wanna go where it's WARM! Had my doc check up today. He said things are progressing normally, but I have to slow down my activities for up to a year. BAH! I really wasn't pleased to hear that-lol. My bady has to rebuild some lymph cells, build some 'cord' (don't ask!) scar tissue, and relearn how to process fluid and purge it without fluid retention in my abs. I haven't mentioned it, but after I do some strenuous exercise, lifting, or just run around a lot, my abs swell to a tight and uncomfortable size. I usually hang back a lot the next day, wear the body strangulator they gave me after surgery, and the pain goes away. But I wanted to know how long this would go on. I ain't used to sittin' in a chair, unless it's the driver's seat! I was planning on getting some good hiking in while in Alaska this summer, but I'll have to take it one hike at a time and see how it goes. Everything looks like it's on track though. Did I mention I am spending the summer in Alaska? I am. We're moving there and 'trying it out' for the summer. I'm searching for rental houses and a way to get my rig up there without haivng a financial meltdown---lol. I love the weather today---sunny, and a little chilly. I'm gonna go move some wood out of my driveway---had a tree removed and the guys stacked the cordwood in front of my garage. Not to worry, though, I bought a hand truck from Lowe's Hardware, so it shouldn't take too much energy to move it, one log at a time---S-L-O-W. The whole project will probably take me till the weekend though, as there is QUITE the stack out there. Here's another CUTE site! Check out the ex-boyfriend pj's. They have photos on them with the ex scribbled out---what a riot! They have some really cute jammies here! Here is a link that might be useful: Ex boyfriend pajamas

Happy birthday, Dee Marie! Hope it's a wonderful birthday. It's finally cold here after weeks of being in the 70's and 80's. The temp is actually dropping this morning. It's now 25 degrees and very windy here in north Texas. But, it's also about time. QOD: I've got lots of picking up, then cleaning, to do, and laundry as always. My last day of work is Monday. I have such mixed feelings about things right now. The parents have been so sweet, but the children are being awful which will actually make it a little easier to go. LOL I have a dr.'s appt. on Tuesday for my pre-op workup, dentist appt. Wed., and helping son move into his first home on Thursday. NHSuzanne, I think it's great that your dh is bonding with the new donkey. Raeanne, I hope the PT works out as you hope. Sounds so ambitious to me. Marci, we had our Valentine party on the Friday before the actual day, sugared them up, then sent them home for the weekend. Tuesday, I brought heart cookies and they each had one. It was a very nice day. Donna, we're going to try to see "Last Holiday" this weekend, too. Hope we all like it. Joanne, sending good thought and ((((hugs))) for you and your dear mom. Zig, being without power is the pits, isn't it? Once we were w/o it during a January ice storm, and I had to finally break down and take a shower and shampoo my dirty hair. It was pure misery, but I had to keep a dentist appt. since the ice had melted, so had no choice. Tikanas, how is your knee now? My knee-replacement surgery may be delayed so that they can attempt some in-office procedure on my other knee so that it's in good shape to see me through. Hi, Maddie, BJ, and Happyto! I miss reading y'all's interesting posts. Happyto, please start posting here. It's such good therapy, and you are such a neat person to read. Take care and stay warm, everyone!

Hi all! Another MIA checking inÂand hoping that everyone is doing great! I havenÂt been here since my FIL died in late June, as I came down with a "C Diff" infection the night after his funeral. Rog found me unconscious on the bathroom floor and took me to the ER, and I really donÂt remember anything about that night or July 4th. I was in for 3 days, and was deathly sick for the next 2 weeks. (I did lose 23 pounds during this time, thoughÂnasty way to do it!) IÂm OK at this point, but everyoneÂseriouslyÂthe CDC in Atlanta has issued warnings that this could be an epidemic, and the mortality rate has doubled. Since I donÂt want to squick anyone out, please do a google on "C Diff", and remember to wash your hands, and this is very contagious. The next thing that has went on with me is that not only was I praying for Demerol or death while I was in the hospital, I have found that I am a diabetic. Great. Just screaming great. My sugar level was 453 when I went to the ER. (OKÂwellÂI was on prednisone during this time b/c I ended up in the ER the night FIL died with a horrible rash all over my behind and legs, and come to find out it was a reaction that I had to a spider bite a week prior. I was diagnosed with Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP) which normally occurs in young boys (yes, I laugh at f@rt jokes, maybe this is payback!) and steroids are the usual treatment for it. It can be serious, and lead to kidney problems, but the chances are small.) So, between the stress (GAD!), the steroids, the ridiculously bad eating habits IÂve developed, IÂm not surprised that my sugar was that high. I didnÂt have any of the usual signs, i.e. excessive thrist, excessive urination, etc but here I am. I am following drÂs orders, but man! I want some sweet iced tea!! AndÂI had to drop out of school for the time being. Which just frustrates me to no end, but whaddya do? When it rains, it pours! So, that it why I havenÂt been here, or anywhere else for that matter. Things are slowly getting back to normal, and things will be good once again. RaeanneÂwhat auction? I wish I was there, IÂd love to call it for you! SuzanneÂI love that pic! WeÂre going to try to grow garlic this fall, so any advice is appreciated! BJÂhugs, my sister! Still busy as ever, I see! DeeÂnew car? What kind? Has anyone heard from Amy or John? Has Patti posted lately? Hope all is well with everyone! Love and hugs, Maddie

Joanne~ Thanks for checking in. We are all sending warm rays of well thoughts to you. Please stay in touch. Raeanne & DeeMarie~ Yes, our ears were on fire. Can't wait to see the pics, of course. And Deemarie, congrats on the 8 pounds---my heavens, nothing tastes as good as getting thin feels! My eating kind of went out the window today. Three stressful situations finally made me cave! Luckily, I got out of the house and went to the elementary school where I cracked open a few geodes for the kids in 2nd grade---man, were they surprised when they saw the insides! I went to see "Miracle" (starring Kurt Russell). My kids loved it and so did I! What a great movie! That American team worked their tails off to get that medal. Catch it if you get a chance, but would be great for a rental too. Is anyone planning on seeing "The Passion"? Sounds like it makes quite an impression on people. I can't believe how quickly this month leapt by---yowsers! It's almost over!

Hi goils!

It's 4am here, and I can not sleep--ugh!

Valentine's Day was fun--Rog said his gift is in the mail, so I got a nice card, and spent a lovely evening with a curled up, purring hairball, watching the Westminster Dog Show. Maybe I should buy a lottery tix or something. b/c I picked 3 of the 4 group winners. (I dozed off during the Terrier Group, so missed that one!) (Which would explain why I'm up now!)

Dee--hugs to DH--I hope he gets to feeling better, soon!

KYSusie--remember the lady that we saw at the convention center? She's speaking that the Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce Woman Business Owner's expo in March. The Courier-Journal had a really great article about her, too.

Things are about the same here. I'm trying to get back on track with my eating and working out, but I am just so mentally tired. Mom wanted me to read dad's medical reports from the hospital, and that was a vast mistake! I wish I had never seen them.

Ah, me, life goes on-- and where is everyone? KYSusieQ?? Tikanas? Lynn? Amy? Patti? (Ahem...) BJ????? I feel like I'm so far out of the loop with reading the posts.

So, what's up with French Lick? I know some plans have changed, but are we still on ?

hope all is well!

Hugs,

Maddie

Hi everyone. Marcie, I see you are still at it with the cool and uplifting gifs. Nice to see.

Maddie, it seems like everytime I come here, you've mentioned my name. Thanks for thinking of me.

I got some cards over the holidays that I didn't acknowledge, so I apologize for that. I always love getting them, but it's been hard for me to get things together and reciprocate.

I haven't been feeling well, and maybe I'll come back later and tell you more about it. I have good plans, but feel kind of discouraged. I've started the guaifenesin treatment for fibromyalgia. Patti, if you've ever tried it, let me know how it went.

I see people are talking about spring. We've had quite a rainy winter here. It rained (part of) every day for about three weeks. One sign of spring here is that the mango trees bloom. Soon the rainbow shower trees will bloom and stay in bloom until October.

I'll come back later and try to share more about what's going on with me. I'm not sure if I sound more formal, but if I do, it's because of not feeling well.

A special thanks to BJ for helping me get my membership renewed after I let it lapse. It's nice to see so many familiar friends.

Amy

HI ladybugs

hi Amy- glad to see a message from you.

Maddie- yes- it was a great article about Linda Toupin. I was on retreat with her in Carrolton 2 weeks ago.

Well, last week after the flu, and virus's the family had,I got it- I was in bed from thrusday to sunday.

I begged Dh to take me out last night- his guilt over not getting me a Christmas present( because it snowed 26 inches on Dec. 23rd)served me well.

I did watch oprah's bootcamp yesterday though- I taped it. It was very interesting. I'm going to push myself for 4 weeks to see what kind of results I get.

Take to ya later, Hi to all I missed!

checking in........

Went with DH to the surgeon today; he had the port taken out of his back. He'll be back in surgery mid-March for the left side once surgeon is convinced that the right kidney is completely healed.

I've got my good days and bad ones, but I'm grateful to be on the mend. Next week, I see my physician again, with a followup chest x-ray after that.

Hope everyone is gearing up for spring!!!

BJ & Amy - good to see you.

Love to all!

Happy Birthday Dee! How does your garden grow?
I remember getting you gardening for dummies one year- its so fun to play gift exchange. Tell us all about your goodies.

I'm so glad its friday. I had a bad day at work yesterday- I think I've decided until I become a MK Sales Director every day will be a bad day at work because its not what I want to do anymore.

Going birthday shopping for my DS tonight- he turned 7 this week- party is tomorrow- he is making his own cake with DH tomorrow- strawberry with white icing and mini MM's on top.

I hope everyone has some sunshine this weekend- Raeanne can't wait to see some vacation pictures.

BJ- whats up with you? School, kids, Dh and life must have you very busy.

QOD: If you use hair color( for whatever reason) what brand and color is it?
I need to cover some gray and freshen up my color this weekend-last time I tried a highlightening one- and it worked fairly well, can't remember the brand though.

HUGS to all that need them- Kysusie

DEEMARIE!

YAY! It's your birthday!

I'm glad you are feeling better!

Thanks or being so motivational for all of us! I joined Weight Watchers again because of your excitement over it! I have lost about 8 pounds so far! I hope I can KEEP IT OFF!

Here's to you and yours on this special day. Hope all your wishes come true and you SHARE what's inside that box from Gretchen SOON!

LOVE YOU! ~BJ

Thank you all so much for your good wishes. I really was in to celebrating my birthday this year (cause the older you get, the less you have to celebrate!). I made my famous crumb coffee cake for the gang at the office, and have managed to stay away from it! DH almost pulled off a huge crumb before I left this morning....just like a child! LOL

I tore into that box from Gretchen early this morning before I left for the office! I promise to share the detailed contents (Gretchen, you are tooooo much!), and send a picture to Marci before the day is over. There was lots of Weight Watchers goodies, and aroma bath stuff, and books to read on vacation.....so much fun and so generous!!!

DH is taking me to the movies this afternoon....think we'll see 'Sideways' or "The Aviator"....not sure.

KY Susie, my gardens grow much better and my hands are much softer thanks to the treats in your box 2 years ago!!!

BJ, good for you and good riddance to those 8 lbs!!!

Take care, eat healthy, and NEVER NEVER GIVE UP!
DeeMarie
