Happy Valentines Day Everyone
Have been missing in action - down 12 lbs.
DD announced she is getting married on September 18th and it has been a whirlwind just getting a venue booked for this year.

Haven't checked the posts - but I will later today and try and get caught up on everything.
Fill me in if I've missed something HUGE in the last three weeks.

QOD: What's up for Valentine's Day/Evening?

I'm working, DH is home recuperating. Today at 4pm he will come with me to dentist appointment (does the fun ever end?). Depending upon how I feel after they fix this crown, we may go out for dinner. The only good part about the dentist is that I get the laughing gas.....my very favorite drug of choice!!!! LOL!!

Well, Raeanne, I don't think our chances look too hot! But then again, we'd have to actually BET THE MONEY to win.... Maddie, have a wonderful vacation! Suzanne, You guys are getting rained out today? Mary Ann, Your margarita and nacho diet sounds good to me! It is overcast and cool here today. I got up at the crack of dawn a spent a couple of hours weeding and tying up tomatoes in the garden. I have 16' of staked tomatoes and 16' supported by the "Florida Weave" as a comparison test on the two methods. I harvested a ton of carrot, onion, lettuce, radish, bok choy, cabbage, and chard. Housework planned for the rest of the day, Spending the day with the kids for Mother's day tomorrow. Happy Mother's day to all Mamas of human AND animal babies : ) Tikanas

Hi all! Another MIA checking inÂand hoping that everyone is doing great! I havenÂt been here since my FIL died in late June, as I came down with a "C Diff" infection the night after his funeral. Rog found me unconscious on the bathroom floor and took me to the ER, and I really donÂt remember anything about that night or July 4th. I was in for 3 days, and was deathly sick for the next 2 weeks. (I did lose 23 pounds during this time, thoughÂnasty way to do it!) IÂm OK at this point, but everyoneÂseriouslyÂthe CDC in Atlanta has issued warnings that this could be an epidemic, and the mortality rate has doubled. Since I donÂt want to squick anyone out, please do a google on "C Diff", and remember to wash your hands, and this is very contagious. The next thing that has went on with me is that not only was I praying for Demerol or death while I was in the hospital, I have found that I am a diabetic. Great. Just screaming great. My sugar level was 453 when I went to the ER. (OKÂwellÂI was on prednisone during this time b/c I ended up in the ER the night FIL died with a horrible rash all over my behind and legs, and come to find out it was a reaction that I had to a spider bite a week prior. I was diagnosed with Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP) which normally occurs in young boys (yes, I laugh at f@rt jokes, maybe this is payback!) and steroids are the usual treatment for it. It can be serious, and lead to kidney problems, but the chances are small.) So, between the stress (GAD!), the steroids, the ridiculously bad eating habits IÂve developed, IÂm not surprised that my sugar was that high. I didnÂt have any of the usual signs, i.e. excessive thrist, excessive urination, etcÂ but here I am. I am following drÂs orders, but man! I want some sweet iced tea!! AndÂI had to drop out of school for the time being. Which just frustrates me to no end, but whaddya do? When it rains, it pours! So, that it why I havenÂt been here, or anywhere else for that matter. Things are slowly getting back to normal, and things will be good once again. RaeanneÂwhat auction? I wish I was there, IÂd love to call it for you! SuzanneÂI love that pic! It has been snowing since 6:30 this morning and is still coming down, despite the weather forecast of only 2 inches LOL. Right now it is just enough to cover the ice to trick you into sliding down the street. This has been a fun winter around here. I just ran into an acquaintance this morning and she told me she just became a grandmother. She told me that her friends are throwing her a Grandmother's Shower. I never heard of this, but the more I thought about it, the more fun it sounded. There are so many things you could get a new grandma and a lot of gag gifts as well. She is surprising them by going dressed up as a very old woman. Marci - glad you got the day off - maybe you can sneak in a little nap. I loved, loved, loved Marley & Me. Dee - I can never get out of work due to the weather. I am 2 minutes away. Let me know what you think of his books. I just ordered Does THis Clutter Make my Butt Look Fat. Happy snuggling! Congrats on the shopping bargains WTG. Milkdud - sounds like you are getting a lot accomplished at home. I collect recipes. My to try file is so huge. I am lucky DH loves to eat anything and everything. He would be as happy with a sandwich at dinner as he would a 7 course meal. He also is tall and very slim - the BRAT. Suzanne - I would've loved to have read those quotes you did for your husband - that is hysterical. I know your winters are a bit more severe than mine - but this has been a real old fashioned winter around here. Patti - I was in bed when DH yelled up to come down and see the eclipse. I got up and looked out my window and saw the reddish glow, but was way too lazy to walk downstairs and go out into the cold. I had him take pictures - now I'm sorry I didn't drag myself out. QOD - tonight we are going to a Wine Tasting (I know it's a big surprise) at a restaurant that is known for it's extensive wine cellar. There are 6 of us going together and fun is guaranteed. I better get some work done.

Hello! We took our kids to the Pittsburgh Symphony this morning and I get the afernoon off!! I thought I'd check in and see how the birthday party for DeeMarie was going! LOL Dee - I am so glad you liked everything. I smiled at the thought of you sitting in bed surrounded by presents!! What a great way to start off the day. I was hoping you wouldn't be mad at me for the chocolates, but I had wanted to include somthing chocolate to go along with the card (Maxine of course!). I picked Anderson's because it is local and unique to our area. I started out looking for a Michel Delacroix print for you and couldn't find one in my price range. Then I remembered that I'd seen designers take apart calendars for the art work and I went on a search for the calendar. I found it at www.calendars.com. It makes me so happy to hear that you want to frame the pictures!! The Wendell August plant is in Grove City, which is an hour from here and I took a tour of their facilities once. I was fascinated by the craftsmanship and attention to detail, and I love to give their items as gifts. One of my preschool Mom's started a business making and selling the soy candles and body basics. So I asked her to make me up a sample bag for you. I love the body cream! I hope the rest of your day everything you hoped for. NHSuzanne - I popped in this morning before I went to school and I saw your post asking whose birthday it was, but I thought you were kidding. LOL I used a Banner site that uses odd fonts to create her name gif and I saved the banner as a graphic. I know if your computer doesn't recognize a certain font, it won't show up but I thought I had it covered with the gif. I wonder if anyone else can't see Dee's name? And thank you for the compliment about my packages. I am going to Curves at 3 today. How is it going for you? Raeanne - Have a great time in NYC. I have only been there once and someday I would love to go back. (My real dream is to get nominated for What Not To Wear and go there with a $5,000 credit card in my name!!) LOL Gretchen - I would love to read your Jodi Picoult book when you are done. And I will send Harvesting the Heart your way when I am done with it. I love that we can help each other out this way! Has anyone emailed Joanne or KYSusie about the SS get together? We haven't heard from either of them lately and I wonder if KYSusie is reading the threads and how Joanne is feeling. Hi goils!

It's 4am here, and I can not sleep--ugh!

Valentine's Day was fun--Rog said his gift is in the mail, so I got a nice card, and spent a lovely evening with a curled up, purring hairball, watching the Westminster Dog Show. Maybe I should buy a lottery tix or something. b/c I picked 3 of the 4 group winners. (I dozed off during the Terrier Group, so missed that one!) (Which would explain why I'm up now!)

Dee--hugs to DH--I hope he gets to feeling better, soon!

KYSusie--remember the lady that we saw at the convention center? She's speaking that the Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce Woman Business Owner's expo in March. The Courier-Journal had a really great article about her, too.

Things are about the same here. I'm trying to get back on track with my eating and working out, but I am just so mentally tired. Mom wanted me to read dad's medical reports from the hospital, and that was a vast mistake! I wish I had never seen them.

Ah, me, life goes on-- and where is everyone? KYSusieQ?? Tikanas? Lynn? Amy? Patti? (Ahem...) BJ????? I feel like I'm so far out of the loop with reading the posts.

So, what's up with French Lick? I know some plans have changed, but are we still on ?

Hi everyone. Marcie, I see you are still at it with the cool and uplifting gifs. Nice to see.

Maddie, it seems like everytime I come here, you've mentioned my name. Thanks for thinking of me.

I got some cards over the holidays that I didn't acknowledge, so I apologize for that. I always love getting them, but it's been hard for me to get things together and reciprocate.

I haven't been feeling well, and maybe I'll come back later and tell you more about it. I have good plans, but feel kind of discouraged. I've started the guaifenesin treatment for fibromyalgia. Patti, if you've ever tried it, let me know how it went.

I see people are talking about spring. We've had quite a rainy winter here. It rained (part of) every day for about three weeks. One sign of spring here is that the mango trees bloom. Soon the rainbow shower trees will bloom and stay in bloom until October.

I'll come back later and try to share more about what's going on with me. I'm not sure if I sound more formal, but if I do, it's because of not feeling well.

A special thanks to BJ for helping me get my membership renewed after I let it lapse. It's nice to see so many familiar friends.

hi Amy- glad to see a message from you.

Maddie- yes- it was a great article about Linda Toupin. I was on retreat with her in Carrolton 2 weeks ago.

Well, last week after the flu, and virus's the family had,I got it- I was in bed from thrusday to sunday.

I begged Dh to take me out last night- his guilt over not getting me a Christmas present( because it snowed 26 inches on Dec. 23rd)served me well.

I did watch oprah's bootcamp yesterday though- I taped it. It was very interesting. I'm going to push myself for 4 weeks to see what kind of results I get.

checking in........

Went with DH to the surgeon today; he had the port taken out of his back. He'll be back in surgery mid-March for the left side once surgeon is convinced that the right kidney is completely healed.

I've got my good days and bad ones, but I'm grateful to be on the mend. Next week, I see my physician again, with a followup chest x-ray after that.

Hope everyone is gearing up for spring!!!

Guess What? The UPS truck drove up our street last evening and presented DH with a package addressed to me from Gretchen.............cannot wait to open it tomorrow. YIPPEEE!!!!

I remember getting you gardening for dummies one year- its so fun to play gift exchange. Tell us all about your goodies.

I'm so glad its friday. I had a bad day at work yesterday- I think I've decided until I become a MK Sales Director every day will be a bad day at work because its not what I want to do anymore.

Going birthday shopping for my DS tonight- he turned 7 this week- party is tomorrow- he is making his own cake with DH tomorrow- strawberry with white icing and mini MM's on top.

I hope everyone has some sunshine this weekend- Raeanne can't wait to see some vacation pictures.

BJ- whats up with you? School, kids, Dh and life must have you very busy.

QOD: If you use hair color( for whatever reason) what brand and color is it?
I need to cover some gray and freshen up my color this weekend-last time I tried a highlightening one- and it worked fairly well, can't remember the brand though.

Thank you all so much for your good wishes. I really was in to celebrating my birthday this year (cause the older you get, the less you have to celebrate!). I made my famous crumb coffee cake for the gang at the office, and have managed to stay away from it! DH almost pulled off a huge crumb before I left this morning....just like a child! LOL

I tore into that box from Gretchen early this morning before I left for the office! I promise to share the detailed contents (Gretchen, you are tooooo much!), and send a picture to Marci before the day is over. There was lots of Weight Watchers goodies, and aroma bath stuff, and books to read on vacation.....so much fun and so generous!!!

DH is taking me to the movies this afternoon....think we'll see 'Sideways' or "The Aviator"....not sure.

KY Susie, my gardens grow much better and my hands are much softer thanks to the treats in your box 2 years ago!!!

BJ, good for you and good riddance to those 8 lbs!!!
