I posted here early yesterday but it's not showing up ??? Anyway, the sale was FANTASTIC! Fairy gardening is definitely the trend. I told someone "I'm finally trendy for the first time in my entire life!" I took 4 vanloads of planters and came home with 1 vanload. Will do a farmers market on Sat. to try to move the rest. Kathy I wasn't sure if you were talking about winter care for hen & chickens or for the container gardens. Either way, care is mostly the same. H&C - leave them out and forget them. They like all the winter moisture. Also the fairy gardens, I tell people to remove the miniatures and leave the pans sit out in the garden all winter. I use perennial groundcovers for that very reason - they are very hardy and winter over. They need the moisture - I've had people tell me they put them in the garage to "protect" them and they dry up and die. (I even give them a handout on how to take care of it and they still don't listen sometimes!) Arlene

Finally got my promised timeout from hecticity to look at this - Mary, this is so truly special and I can only echo the other notes of amazement... what a special special talent and interest you have. I do find dollhouses amazing, but think your miniature scenes to be so much like a miniature museum -- I fantasize about you having an entire library with these amazing sets arranged as though in a curio shop. But it takes a special eye and talent to create these scenes and put them together so incredibly... Thank you for sharing with us (and hey, I recognize those idyll relatives!!)... --cindy

This is a great thread. We all love what we collect and isn't it wonderful that most of us collect something different? I collect blue and white Staffordshire Transferware from England, early to mid 1800's. I have over 100 Cup Plates, a little more or less than 4" diameter. They were used as a coaster with the handless cups with bowl shape saucer of 6" from the 1820-1850 period. Often confused with a child's plate from a toy tea set. I also have many patterns of dinner ware pieces of a specific potter E. & G Phillips, Longport England. American butter stamps, butter churns and English cream pots with dairy names stamped or transfered on the pot and numerous other things too many to list. I am just addicted to antiques and collectibles. I also clean and repair and resale and upgrade my English china. So my life is a constant buy, clean, repair, resale, collect more upgrade..etc. I tell my husband I am recycling and being green! I love, love, love what I do. I cannot imagine not ever being able to buy and also resale to share my knowlegde. I also have an extensive library of reference books and love researching everything.

Wonderful!. I wish I had a real house just like that doll house.
