I'm not going to attempt to diagnose him, but he is full of himself. So arrogant. One can only hope there is some explanation.

I don't watch his show and could care less if it ever shows again, other than feeling bad for the others who have worked hard in production of the show.

He is a train wreck. His publicist just quit. Heard on CNN that he's been drug-free for a few weeks which could account for his even more bizarre behavior.

Two and a Half Men was a great show for many years. Unfortunately the two Charlies seem to have become one and the same.

I saw a bit of the interview, and train wreck is the right word for this. Bipolar at least gives a clinical name to it.

I love that show but would applaud CBS and Chuck Lore if they decide to walk away from it.

Charlie Sheen is forgetting that the writers and the ensemble cast have a lot to do with the success of 2.5 Men. I saw him on Celebrity Jeopardy a few years back. He didn't fare well . . . at all. He is fortunate he has acting to fall back on.

We watch Two and a 1/2 men. Up until he had the girlfriend Chelsey; it was a great show; the best on TV. We always laughed; there wasn't an episode I don't remember laughing at. The show has gone down hill this season; though I'm not sure what about it is different. We still laugh; but the show is not the same.

As far as what's happened; Lorre could have kept the rest of the cast working; the last episode was Charlie & Rose going on vacation. It could have been the rest of the cast for the last 4 episodes & if anything else was filmed after the last we saw; I'm sure they could have adjusted it.

There were tons of things they could have done with the show; whether he came back or not but the producers are choosing to make it look like he is the only bad guy & I don't feel he is. If you go to People Magazine there are a lot of articles; in one; Lorre admits it's a personal vendetta. Lorre is making this personal & he's taking others down. The show is the highest rated sitcom on any channel from what I've read

I'm not saying Charlie doesn't have problems because he does; but he will be scooped up if he stops running his mouth. He will move on; either he will sink or swim. The rest of the cast; they probably won't be as lucky & I hope they sue the crap out of Lorre & the other producers for breaking contract.

One of Charlie's biggest beefs is that the crew on the show wouldn't get paid. Well, I think CBS played their trump card just now. Here's the latest:

"Warner Bros. will open its corporate wallet and pay the crew of "Two and a Half Men" for the 4 weeks they would have worked for the remainder of the season ... TMZ has learned." Uh oh.

Tina, how can you be so hard on him since it's obvious he's sick? Just like I believe Mel Gibson is sick also, but not in a way that it's their fault. It's been said that MG does have bipolar disorder but it's been a well kept secret.

If Charlie has the same disease, my heart breaks for him. It's not his fault, at all! Could you imagine how unfair life would be if you were born with a mental illness? I do believe that Charlie is mentally ill. Sure, it could be drugs but I've never seen (or heard about) anyone going off like this weeks after they detoxed.

And you're missing an extremely good show. lol I sure hope he does the Major League sequel. Wild Thing! :)

Rose, I also believe there's more to the story than we know. Since good sitcoms are rare these days I sure will miss the show.

I've never been a big fan but mainly watched it because it was on in the mix of my other Monday night shows. I bet his coworkers loooove him right about now. I haven't even followed this really. Something about him saying stuff about the producers? I watched a quick clip today and he was saying how he wants a raise for the pain he's going through? ???? I'm glad I live a so called, normal life.

In a discussion about this very topic this morning, my DD called him "a glutenous human being." Well said. Two and a half million dollars per episode and he needs a raise? That could be considered "glutenous."

If he needs help, he needs to get help.

If he does have bi polar that would explain his unusual behavior and, if so, he's not to blame for what nature thrust upon him. It's a difficult disease and the meds are hard on a person so they sometimes refuse to take them. The arrogance is part of the manic stage.
Look at Brittany Spears and her odd behavior a few years ago, she was diagnosed, given the proper meds and turned herself around. I pity him, it has to be awful to have your life an open book so every one can make remarks about you. So sad.

Not knowing much about bi-polar illness, I can't comment either way on that. All I can say is that we watched the interview on the Today Show and both DH & I said that he's done in Hollywood.

He was bad mouthing the producers, the studio, made himself sound like the victim. And his dancing away from the direct questions of being sober...he would make up explanations of how his version of sobriety was different, and that AA was a joke, etc. I just took away the idea that he's totally, completely strung out. I doubt a major film studio will hire him, he's uninsurable! And as for a television show, I think Sheens recent exploits, whether they're due to drugs or mental illness, don't fit well with 'middle American values'. I'm certainly not a prude, but I sure can't respect him for his past and current public sexual exploits.

And, I'm sorry, but I can't feel sorry for a guy who says that the show's producers are affecting his ability to provide for his family. The guy gets millions per episode (and that's not to mention what he gets on the back end...residuals, etc), for what? I'd bet the entire crew's salaries don't add up to his for each episode.

No, no sympathy from me. I am really tired of coddling and encouraging bad behavior. I'm glad Britney Spears father stood up and got her help, but there are just far too many celebs that need help but keep being enabled by the hangers on and those that keep giving them vast sums of money and comped items just to keep in their good graces. No, I say let him go, either his wife (I don't think they're divorced yet), or his parents needs to do an intervention if this guy is to be saved. Left of his own accord, he's going to be dead in 6 months.

re: Britney's dad, didn't Martin Sheen also intervene very publicly for Charlie, only years back, like in the 80s, his son was young? I don't remember all the details. I watched CS on Inside the Actors Studio a week or two ago. I think it might have been a bit older interview, not sure, but he seemed quite together. He mentioned Martin Sheen taking the entire family on location for films when his kids were young, even the year filming in the Philippines for Apocalypse Now. I'm probably more a fan of MS than CS, it must be really hard for the family, they seem tight.

I haven't seen any of the latest interviews he's giving, but with all the written press it does seem something has taken a turn for the worse. Hopefully he gets some help.

Moon, Martin Sheen reported to the authorities that Charlie broke his probation for drug use which got him into rehab. I love the Sheen's, all great actors and I admire Martin for his faith and staying married to the same person. lol

Yaya, funny you should mention Britney. Exact same thing. One thing similar are their eyes. Remember how "dark" Britney's eyes became during her manic stage? I noticed that about Charlie yesterday. There's an extra darkenss to them.

I watched his interview on GMA on youtube, he's certainly unwell; his close friends should keep an eye on him or do an intervention.

Oakley - do we know that he is mentally ill? Of course I am sorry for anyone that has a mental illness, but that doesn't necessarily excuse his behavior. I never knew that Britney is bi-polar.

My point is, there is help for such illnesses. If it is drug/alcohol related, there are treatment centers, and if I'm not mistaken, I think I've read that he's been there done that. He is incredibly blessed (materially) but seems to throw so much away. I believe there comes a time when you face your problems (illness, addictions, etc. whatever it may be), and make a choice as what to do with your life. You put on your "big girl panties" and you move forward, or you don't. There are many, many people with serious illnesses, addictions, etc. that have not behaved in this manner. People who have gone forward and lived full and meaningful lives. It's not about the hand you've been dealt, but how you deal with that hand. I honestly believe, with his wealth, his family, his agents, etc., etc., etc. that he has probably been afforded every opportunity. I would imagine if he has been in rehab, etc. that he has had full medical exams and one would think mental evaluations. I don't know who Dr. Drew is, so I'm not understanding from your post if Charlie has been diagnosed or not.

Am I mistaken or have I not also read of spousal abuse? And the racial slur was inexcusable. He needs to realize that he did NOT make that show alone and more than likely he's had help along the way to make his career what it is (or isn't).

Doesn't matter if it's addiction, bipolar, or a combination of the two. The fact is the man desperately needs help. I can't believe someone in his life hasn't intervened.

Saw a clip this morning of Charlie and his "goddesses" with his twin boys. Gave me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I would surely think his family had tried to help. Comes to a point though when you can't help someone who is not willing to help himself. I have an extended family member in prison now - after several stays in rehab facilities and many $$$ paid by others. He's been out on parole, then broke parole - up again next month. It is heartbreaking, but no one can do it for him.

I believe it was on the weekend Today Show when someone said many people in his situation either end up dead or in prison. It's a downward spiral.

The problem with people who are bipolar, they need to be medicated to even get to the place where you can reason with them first. THEN, you can start helping to change their behavior. Until he comes out of his manic phase, into the depression stage, he won't bother getting help now anyway.

There is definately something "wrong" with him.

If he's mentally ill, then yes, I do feel pity for him. I just don't know enough to make a call on mental illness or if he's just so over the top and drugged out.

I realize if he's got a biological problem, he needs to be saved, but as someone else posted, I can't believe it's been undiagnosed previously. He's been in so much trouble over the years. I just have a healthy dose of skepticism toward the overly pampered celebs. They live in an entirely different world from everyone else, and their behaviors tend to be celebrated rather than villified. For example, these latest bimbos he has living with him...do you believe they'd want to be with him if it weren't for his millions and all the drugs he can provide? Mortals don't live like that without some form of retribution.

I guess, to me, it's somewhat personal...I see people like Lindsey Lohan get away with the most awful behavior and my son is in prison serving as an example to teenage stupidity.

I have little sympathy to people who get away with this behavior. However, as I said, IF he's mentally ill, I feel sorry for him, but his entourage and hangers on are feeding into his problems and that whole scene makes me sick.

Tina, I have no clue on whether he's bipolar or not, but I've read enough about it and witnessed the disease that I tend to think he has it.

And Ollie's right, you can intervene all you want (which his family and friends have done a thousand times already) but if the person is in a manic stage they won't even listen to you until they've been properly medicated. And taking medication is touch and go, it's an experiment until they find the right meds, and those pschotropic meds have horrible side effects. Oh, and some manic stages can last for weeks and even months!

Maybe he's tried the meds already and didn't like them. Bipolar leads to drug addiction, did you know that? Addiction usually begins in the late teens and early 20s because that's when bipolar disorder usually shows up in a person. Addiction in a bipolar is called "self medicating" because they have NO clue that they're bipolar.

On the interview this morning Charlie called himself "Grandiose." That is one of the big symptoms of a manic stage. I wonder if he said that because he knows he's bipolar?

I do wish the press would address mental illness in the actors who seemingly "go nuts" instead of making fun of them. Remember how everyone in the world made fun of Britney? Poor girl was bipolar the whole time (at the right age to come down with it) and she had no idea.

I feel awful now because I was one of those who made fun of her.

My dad and brother are both bi-polar and there is no way to know if Charlie is or not. He has something going on with him for sure - I tend to think it could be a psychotic disorder induced by all the cocaine he has done.

Either way, individuals are responsible for their own behavior - disorder or not. My brother refuses to be medicated and he is constantly on the edge of homelessness. I suspect he will be someday. There is only so much family, friends or associates can do so intervention is absolutely futile if the person doesn't want to get better.

Whether or not Charlie Sheen is bipolar, I have no idea. Regardless, I do not feel at all sorry for him. He's been a train wreck for years, yet he's gotten away with all of his bad boy behavior. Heck the Two and a Half Men show is art imitating life, minus the cocaine, as there would be no way to work that little habit into a prime time sitcom.

Seems that it has taken his commiting the ultimate sin in his business, directly publicly humiliating the producer and network of a show that pays him more money than any other working actor on a sitcom has made in the history of television.

Perhaps his "mercury surfboard" will take him to the place he believes is worthy of his "Adonis DNA".

The children that he has sired are who I really feel sorry for. Where is the mother of the twin boys that are currently in his care/custody/control? Brooke Mueller (sp?) really needs a psych evaluation for allowing her children to be trotted out as symbols of this wonderful life Charlie Sheen now believes he is living. A life that according to Charlie Sheen's opinion, no normal person has the brain capacity to understand or appreciate. Give me a break. He is disgusting, but the mother of the children more so.

What galls me even more is that television networks, seemingly all but CBS, are interviewing him and allowing his "story" to see the light of day. Even those who haven't directly interviewed him are replaying the egomanical bull he is spewing. And they are doing so in prime time, when there are so many more important news-worthy events are happening in the world today.

I got that sick to my stomach feeling too when I saw his kids with his"goddesses".

I don't care what Charlie Sheen does but I feel so sorry for his kids. It is absolute insanity to have those kids in that environment. It breaks my heart.

Why were the kids with him to start with? Do they have joint custody?

Yes, they said on the 20/20 interview that he has joint custody.

I did hear yesterday that the kids had been removed from his home though because of something he said in one of his interviews.

My DH's son is 35, and has been diagnosed as bi-polar and an addict. I just watched several of Charlie Sheen's interviews and had chills go down my spine because his actions, words and behavior mimicked my step-son's in every way. SS is currently divorced, homeless, and at his sixth rehab facility. He's spent most of his adult life in and out of rehab programs, losing anything of material value to support his addictions.

It's very sad, there's no doubt in my mind that Sheen has the same illnesses and obviously needs professional help. Watching Sheen was like watching my SS when he is in his manic mode. When he's like that he's impossible to reason with.

Immediately after the 20/20 interview they gave & he passed a drug screen. And somewhere I read he recently took and passed tests 4 consecutive days in a row.

I wasn't saying that Sheen was on drugs when interviewed. SS could, and does, go for periods without the aid of cocaine, booze or other substances, but his behavior is the same as what I witnessed in those interviews with Sheen. Those phases don't last, however, and that's when he begins to act out. Just last week he said he'd "like to kill himself" on FB, of all places! When friends started commenting on this outburst, he then said some interloper had used his account.

All I was trying to say is that this behavior seems typical of a person that has a severe medical/neurological/addictive personality problems, and they are very complex to deal with. They do much better on the right meds that treat the illness, but many, (SS included), stop taking their meds and then the issues start all over again.

What bothers me is all the publicity he gets, and when things settle down, he'll be even a bigger celebrity. Think Paris Hilton, Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr, and will we forever remember Lindsay L~~all of them became even more popular(especially to the paparazzi). Americans seem to be infatuated w/Hollywood. ;o)

Nanny2a, I deal with the same thing with my Dad's dementia. All too often his lucidity pops up in a doctors office and they think he is just fine. Makes me grit my teeth! They think I'm the overbearing/controlling daughter.

So I completely understand how Charlies behavior is interpreted differently at times although I'm pretty sure everyone is on the same page now!

oh nanny2a, I wasn't responding directly to your post. Just mentioning something I had read in relation to the entire situation. That's all.

It is so sad to see this all unfold. Watching these celebrities go through this stuff is horrible. But because the media and the public is so into watching, the frenzie continues. And the likes of Sheen continue. I wonder how he would fare if he was handled like other people? There are thousands of people like this all over the country. Sheen is just getting watched while he goes through this. No one was watching my husband get chased by his mom carrying a butcher knife when he was 3! Yet whenever we turn on the tv or computer we see Sheen.

No one can get help if they don't want it. You can send someone to get help, you can give them pills but if they don't want it they will never get help. Sheen is so very far from accepting the problems he has, whatever they are. My dd has struggled the last few years, nothing to Sheen's extent, but until she finally said she wanted help there was not much we could do for her. Luckily for her she does not have the groupies that have clung on to Sheens magic carpet ride so she has a fair chance of muddling throught the issues at hand.

Without true testing there is no way to know exactly what is wrong with Sheen but there definitely is something. Hopefully the mother of his kids will watch them carefully as they grow. Mental illnesses can be hereditary. Catching the issues before they get to Sheen's level can make all the difference.

Nanny, I agree 100% with you. Charlie could have been drug free the past couple of weeks but still in a very long manic state from BPD. If a person has never met someone with BPD, they'd think they're on Meth, that's how bad it is.

I mentioned this above, but the look in his eye's are the exact same as when Britney Spears was on those month's long crazy tirades of her's. Staying up all night, going out, doing crazy things.

That's why her dad put her on that 52-50 (?) psychiatric hold which diagnosed her as being bipolar. And now look at her!

Unfortunately Charlie has nothing but enablers hanging around with him.

A court ordered stay at the hospital would do him wonders.
