Could some of ya'll who are on WW tell me what you typically eat in a day? I'm trying to decide if I can do this. Thanks

vannie on weight watchers you can eat anything...you are just accountable for what you eat ...gotta stay in your point range...or strictly core stuff.

for breakfast I usually have one of these:
1. cereal and banana
2. oatmeal and whole grain toast
3. 2 slices of whole grain toast and 1 T cream cheese with sugarless jam...
4.Whole grain toast and a scrambled egg with extra egg whites..

For lunch ....
1. A salad
2. A sandwich on WG bread with a low fat meat..turkey chicken even ham .....no-fat miracle whip or mustard, lots of lettuce and tomato and fruit of some kind...sometimes tuna salad..yum a favorite.
3. A salad plate of fruit with cottage cheese and wasa crackers/bread
4. A progresso soup with wasa...

For dinner..I am not a big meat eater so meat is not a big deal to me...I eat it only to get the protein I need...I eat pretty much whatever anyone else eats just less of it and not fatty stuff...I made french fries for my husband and I ate 3 of them ...just had to get it out of my system...

Last night for example I had protein....salmon...salad, and a veggie combo of greens...I eat any kind of meat except fried and I eat any kind of veggies but am fortunate that the green ones are my favorites...

I eat no white stuff...no flour..no sugar and everything is as low in fat...not necessarily fat free cause somethings just don't taste right...but low fat is ok with me...I use 1 per cent milk but moved down to that slowly...

I try to get a snack in if I have the points and to keep me from being too hungry...I really like the SF-FF jello and especially the chocolate pudding so I have them always to snack on...

Hope this helps...if you have any specific questions let me know...Have you been to the weight watchers site or Dotties WW site?

I am on the WW Flex Plan (counting points). A typical day for me would be something like:
Breakfast: Quaker Oats Weight Control Oatmeal
9:30 snack: piece of fruit
Lunch: Tuna salad and a 100 calorie pack of chips/baked cheetoes
3:00 snack: WW snack cake or fat-free yogurt/pc string cheese
Dinner: Chicken breast or turkey, 1/2 cup mashed potatoes or pasta or rice, vegetables
Dessert: Fat free chocolate pudding cup
I have been on WW since Nov 15th and lost 14.4 lbs. I didn't have an extreme amount of weight to lose to start out with. I only have 10 more lbs to reach goal.

Well. I suppose that changes the menu somewhat---

I'd love to be both of your neighbors and chat. I was born in 1940 and grew up in Mayberryish. Our yard was fenced and i loved to swing on the gate till i got caught everytime. Remember butter rationing and the blocks of margarine with the yellow dye to stir in. Grandmother knit wool socks for the soldiers. My aunt made bandages and fixed first aide kits. Remember also the the fire siren going and going forever when the war was announced to be over. Our generation was a lets pull together people. We did'nt have alot but we had what we needed. There simply was'nt instant gratification. You wanted something badly enough you saved pennies, worked for everyone in the family till you had enough money along with the wonderful feeling of pride that you could get your treasure and know you earned it. Had to see my doctor this morning and being the same age we always have a little conversation aboyt something. This morning our subject was "before electricity" Just think we've evolved over thousands of years to sleep at dusk and awake at dawn, after electicity thousands of years of evolved sleep patterns were thrown out the window till now there is no real dark, which may very well be why so many people have sleep problems. So-o-o-o i guess i'll go take my brand new Requip pill and see if my legs will stop whatever they're doing so i can go to sleep. Goodnite all, sweet dreams. vickie

I have never tracked my points on a daily basis on CORE. I probably should -- my weight loss has really slowed down in the last 6 weeks. But I did lose 2.4 lbs this week. My typical daily menu -- Breakfast steel cut oatmeal w/ 2 Tbsp. raisins and 1/2 c milk Snack Apple or banana Lunch 2 eggs scrambled with mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, spinach and FF cheddar cheese Fresh fruit or Large toss salad with turkey or smoked salmon -- lots of veggies --- FF dressing with blue cheese tossed over it Afternoon snack - more fruit or carrots --sometimes, I eat one serving of FF/SF pudding here to get past the chocolate cravings. Supper WW pasta with variety of sauces -- maybe with beef, shrimp or chicken or Grilled meat with roasted potatoes and salad and veggie or Soup with salad or a sandwich on 1 pt bread (always fill the sandwich with lots of goodies --spinach, roasted red-pepper strips, cukes, FF cheese) Snack Popcorn or WW ice cream treat I use most of my 35 extra pts on dried fruit, cheese, nuts (love almonds!) wine and the occasional slice of bread or English muffin. We try lots of the WW recipes -- just got the new Comfort food cookbook. Looks good to this midwest farm girl! Not a lot of pure CORE recipes but some can be used with simple changes -- like whole wheat pasta or FF cheese. and some things -- I'll just count into my pts. I don't have the patience to count points and since I am a bit of a health food nut (we can all our own veggies and fruits --over 500 jars a year) and buy all of our meat from local organic farmers........... CORE works well for me. But you have to "shake it up" -- If you eat grilled chicken everyday for supper and a salad everday for lunch -- you will get bored quick. Cathy

Hi all. I've been doing real well for the last two days. Went to the store and stocked up on a variety of foods. I am not one who can plan their meals ahead of time. I need to be able to eat what I want at each meal or I will feel unsatisfied. I have to be a bit selfish when I want to lose weight. I treat myself to the things I like. I went and bought some boneless centercut porkchops and pineapple so I could do teriyaki with them. I got some dark rye for the egg salad I've been craving. Bought a bunch of ground beef for freezing into weighed out patties for the freezer. I keep a few Lean Cuisine frozen meals and I like the new Pannini sandwiches. I will buy the regular ones as well as the Lean Cuisines because I find a half of one fills me up fine. For snacks I usually have regular ice cream that I eat in a 1/2 cup Tupperware snack cup. I like the Jello fat free Devils Food pudding cups. I also like the new Weight Watcher's Key Lime Cheesecake and I love the peanut butter chocolate or mint Skinny Cows. I fool myself into "healthy" desserts by using a frozen pancake as a base, topping it with sliced banana, cinnamon sugar and a squirt of whipped cream and calling it "pie". Do the same with a nuked sliced apple or canned blueberry topping. For take-alongs I carry little cups of natural applesauce, chewy low fat granola bars or breakfast bars, the above mentioned cheesecakes or pudding and fresh fruit. When I know I'll be out for awhile I pack a small insulated lunch bag with snacks and a diet soda so I won't be tempted by the drive-though or heaven forbid the donut shop. I have a challenge tonight, will be meeting some Red Hatters to eat at Dave and Busters. Looked at their menu and it's going to take some doing to stay on program. I see they have rice and they have steak and grilled shrimp. Maybe they will sub the grilled shrimp for the fried on the shrimp dinner. Or I could bring my insulated bag with gel ice, order the steak and shrimp and bring the steak home for a cold steak lunch tomorrow YUM. Tomorrow is my weigh-in and I'm shooting for a break even day what with eating out and hanging out in the bar to watch some friends in a karioke contest. They won a cruise last year and are shooting for a trip to Hawaii this year.

So this has become the RuthieG thread and I alone post here and can now call it my personal blog...so this time of year it is hotter than hades in our part of Texas...no one goes outside except back and forth to the air conditioned car...I will be heading out to the gym again today .....if someone would just turn off the danged heat it would help...I haven't lost anymore but I havent been bad with my eating ...my body seems to want to hang at 150 and that's too heavy.... Something really nice happened yesterday...stopped by the local plant shop where one of my neighbors works and she said "Hey girl" and then she said..Oh My God what has happened to the rest of you...you are disappearing...LOL I love it when people notice that I have shed these danged pounds....Makes all the hard work worthwhile.. ...Have a good day Ladies...eat well and exercise...I really believe that exercise is the key to successful weight loss.

I had to get off the computer because the phone was ringing but I wanted to say one more thing...the weight that you are at determines how many points you can have....now lets say you have 25 points...you can use those just about any way you want to but most of us have learned that good solid food is the best way...you maximize the amount of food you get by making sure that each point counts...for instance...with one cracker you might get 5 pieces =1 point but change to a less fat more ww wheat cracker and you could probably have 10 or 15...the point is that you can learn to be selective about what you are eating...Wasa bread is a fabulous cracker/bread that goes wonderful as crunch in salad or anything...and so cheap in point count..do the math on your shopping trips and decide whether you want regular graham crackers where you can eat one or lo-fat where you can eat 2 for the same amount of points...now that was just an off the top of my head example...don't know if those counts are correct but you get the idea...

WW's is really about learning a lifestyle not about a diet..most of the WW's I know will tell you that they can't imagine eating any other way.

Thanks for the info. I have tried to lose weight so many times that it is really hard to get enthusiastic enough about it to start again. I know everyone knows exactly what I am talking about. I've been to WW several years ago. How much exercise do they recommend?

Last I heard WW's had a promo going on with no start up fee so now would be the time to join....all you do is pay the weekly fee....

They start you out with out an exercise but just encourage you to do it and then about week three, I think it is, they start encouraging you to get up and move it....

I was a real hater of exercise but now I miss it if I don't get around to it...
