Electrolux owns Frigidaire...If that helps. I'm in the same quandry and every manufacturer seems to have a black mark against them.

My local appliance store have very good things to say about Electrolux. They had stopped carrying anything related to Whirlpool because of the complaints and repairs. This includes Kitchenaid, Maytag and Whirlpool. I was down to the Kitchenaid 30 in convection oven and the Electrolux 30 in oven. Afraid to pull the trigger and get stuck w/a lemon.

I have the regular Electrolux single 30 inch oven and I love it. I lived through buying $10,000 in appliances (range and oven) and both were lemons, so I was very gun shy. The good thing is with Electrolux or KA, you can buy them where you have a 2 week return policy. After my previous experience, this was very important for my peace of mind. I also put it on a credit card. You also have to keep all the packaging to return it though. Ask and get it in writing before you buy. I would try to look at live models if possible. It may make a difference to you how the lights are configured and whether they stay on during baking. Some people did not like the fact that you cannot use the roller rack on the bottom slot on the Electrolux, when roasting a turkey. You can use the regular rack there. It did not matter to me because I didn't need to get every inch out of my oven on Thanksgiving as in previous years. I have used the self clean and no problems. Others did not like that the door is open on the top and dust can get in. I'm not sure if and when this would be a concern. I have had it since July 1 and there are few grains of dust in the door. I think most oven doors have some type of opening in the door.
Pros:
Many different cycles so you can set temp all the way down to 85 degrees. Very handy for drying gum paste decorations and other craft work as the convection fan runs!

Very easy to get rolling racks out for cleaning.

Very fast preheat 0-350 in under 10 minutes. I was missing my small Gemini oven but this is just as quick.

Quick to change temperature.

The wave touch is easy to use. Just barely touch it. I like the little diagram that lights up and tells you what element is on and if the fan is on.

It has very pleasant bells that chime.

It keeps very close to the set temperature, except the convection roast runs about 50-60 degrees hot.(my only con) I just adjust down a little.

No one oven is the "end all". They all have features that appeal to all kinds of cooks.

Thanks wekick....appreciate the input. Didn't like the door of the kitchenaid...no frame and all glass....and painted border to boot. Sounds like the electrolux is the way to go . Have you selfcleaned???

Wekick did use the self clean feature without any problems.

This is a timely post- my 12 year old GE 30 inch wall oven at our vacation home is acting up and it might be too expensive to repair. So I also looking ar replacing it.

Wekick - Thanks for your review. Can you give an appoximate price? I've never purchased an Electrolux appliance. And the 60 degree difference in the convection feature doesn't bother you? I know what you went through on your previous ovens. Did you contact customer service to see if they could explain the reason for the 'hot' convection?

It is only off on the convection roast not the convection bake and I almost would be afraid to have them mess with it. It seems so minor. I just turn it down a little. I may call and see what they say. I want to test the range of temperatures for all the functions. There is a way to adjust the temperature but the rest of the functions are not off. The oven was around $2000.00, half the price of the other one I had. I had all my ovens loaded this past weekend at one time 6 quiches, 3 potatoes anna, 2 trays of bacon dates and 1 lg tray of sausages. All cooked beautifully. Now that I have the convection, I really love it. One other note-I did not test the perfect turkey button. I just roasted it the way I normally do. I cooked an 18# turkey with no problems. I have a 12# one in the freezer that I may use the perfect turkey button on.

I bought the 30 inch Electrolux the middle of October. I have tried the self cleaning. Other than it smelled, it worked. All in all, it works like it's suppose to. Haven't noticed any problems with the temps. It does seem to get to temp fairly fast. It's nice to have an appliance that does what it's suppose to do. The alarm could stand to be a little louder.

I love having a convection oven again. The only thing that I need to get used to is the door. It stays in any position. I was always bad about opening and letting the door drop on my old oven.

Used the turkey button and I did place it on the sliding rack. Yes, you can't use the slider rack on the very bottom. Knew this when I bought the oven. Never used the lowest rack on the old oven so I didn't care about that problem on the new oven. The turkey came out juicy and done.

I like the simplistic style (have black) and the fact that there aren't logo's all over it. Also the quick start manuals come separately in the different languages. And the big manual is spiral bound. So you can pitch the languages you don't use and not take up so much space for storage of the manuals.

I'm very happy with my purchase and I really like the sliding racks. It took Best Buy two weeks to deliver because it was coming from the factory and I ordered black. The guy who installed did a great job, even with me hovering. (The Electrolux was shorter than my old Whirlpool and I wanted the unit installed high so I could fill in below the unit.)

I say this about Best Buy because I just purchased a washer/dryer set from Sears on Black Friday. I think the units are having to swim across the ocean. Now I remember why I haven't purchased anything from Sears in over eight years.
